Woo! Custom levels galore! Thank you EvilMike, but I have one thing to say:
You should’ve included Crimson Diamond! Argness!

Overall it’s a great pack with amazing levels, i’ve only got one complaint really.

Chemical Warfare, ugh, why is it edited? I can understand if the shield was removed, but you can’t get the seekers anymore, and the carrot is removed. Sigh, I just love that level, it’s my favourite level, and now all the fun of that seeker powerup is removed, i have so many good memories of playing that a long time ago, it was so much fun, but it’s edited :(

Reply to post by EvilMike: You have to shoot the seeker powerup to get it, and you need coins to get it, which was what the level was originally made to be like. I made the seeker powerup shoot-only so that flag holders couldn’t camp up in the coin warp without being shot easily.[This review has been edited by EvilMike]

I don’t care what the level was supposed to be made like. It was great fun to play the way we used to play it. And are you really sure that Epic made it that you MUST use the warp? I can’t think that they would put electroblasters next to the seeker powerup without knowing that people would use it to get the seekers. You needed 20 coins for the carrot, not the seeker powerup. Besides, it was great fun as a n00b calling people cheaters when they ran around with powered seekers at the start of the game ;)[This review has been edited by Disguise][This review has been edited by Disguise]

Heh, you had to put Diamondus Warzone in it. Personally, this level is very nostalgic for me as it brings back memories of the good ol’ demo days. However, I am very bored with it and think that it really doesn’t belong in the pack. This should be a salute to levels made by Jazzers.

Level 1: Ohhhhhh I’ve seen this one several times before, and I don’t like it at all. How do I make sure (assuming I do get in the CTF server) that I join after this level, anyway? I can’t. I’ll have to trust to luck that I’ll miss it.
Level 2: This one is kind of like Happy Castle CTF in general layout form, only it’s far easier to go between the bases. Two bases near the top, with lots of access routes, and a big battle area beneath.
Level 3: This is always being hosted, and I’ve never seen what people see in it. It’s just an average CTF level.
Level 4: Swinging Jazz. It’s included in TSF, which should be enough reward. Can’t we get some new stuff in here? To actually celebrate Year 4?
Level 5: This seems to be a Happy CTF pack level, so I don’t think it’s new. I don’t like it, either.
Level 6: This, from the dates, is one of the Earliest levels of 2002. Interesting. It’s also divided in half by a huge wall, which helps strengthen the difference between the two teams.
Level 7: One of the better levels in the pack, from what I’ve seen. Kind of a level with a layout that won’t stick in your mind.
Level 8: This one isn’t even all that well done. The whole thing revolves around the guardposts, with little attention spent on anything else.
Level 9: Now This one I Like. Two bases on either side of the level, with small ammo caches, then this huge temple in the middle. And CelL made it, too. Yay.
Level 10: Pretty non-descript platform based level here. It needs some work altogether though, so the main body supports the good ideas.
Level 11: This one seems familiar. I was actually hoping this pack would contain some of the great levels that have been created, but not recognized. But it seems they’re going for stuff hosted all the time. Or something.
Level 12: An ok CTF level, and not one I’ve seen before. I’m hoping this level has a Red base, but I couldn’t find one, so who knows. Maybe if I looked more carefully. And it has this really weird fixing job that is sure to get some people rather confused.
Level 13: This one has a truly frightening design that makes it so there are no short pathes anywhere, and to get to an area seven tiles away, you have to go on a long roundabout route. And there’s some heavy base bias.
Level 14: Believe it or not, this is the level I think of when I hear “Eyecandy”. Given a few seconds. Kind of confusing, but certainly one of the best levels in here.
Level 15: This level is something I am biased against, having not seen it enough to learn it, but having seen it too many times to like it. It can also be confusing, and hard to get around.
Level 16: Kind of confusing. Lots of things I’d expect to be unsolid are solid. But there aren’t any major problems.
Level 17: Here we have a nice little thing, with the bases close enough together that most of the level is for chasing the other players about in. And some really wacked out eyecandy. Yay.
Level 18: I’ve seen this one before, but I actually like it, and can find no bugs. Nice, solid level here.
    Level 19: IT DIES.

There. I commented on the selection of levels. It needs work.

Needs custom music, even if it’s in another zip file…

I’m not too crazy about all of the choices in this pack… Maybe too many repeats? I never was too crazy about some of these levels. Perhaps this past year had the fewest good levels produced. I dunno, it could just be me. I’ll probably still play in the Bash server, but it just won’t seem the same without the proper music for each level.[This review has been edited by BlurredD]

I like the pack. The finest CTF levels in one pack. This is so cool. In some levels the layout is so different from the rest of the levels, that you must stop and look how amazing the enrovinment is. Especially I liked the Smog CTF level (maybe you people know why) :)[This review has been edited by Blade]

I thought that donwloads on J2O were supposed to be rated. I know for a fact that they are. And I figure that this isn’t different from any other battle/ctf/level pack.
I quote, from Fquist “levels should be rated for their quality and not for their goal, as it would mess up the site forever.” And I believed that you could just put levels up for N/A purpose before. But I also found out that I was wrong when people started to rate a level that I posted, even though I asked them not too.
I’m sorry if I didn’t understand the rules or something, but as far as I know, you are supposed to rate items posted on the J2O.[This review has been edited by URJazzCC]

Looks pretty cool mike ;P Ill do my “opinions by lev”

LEV 1 : This is a fun lev, and good for ctf play. I like the power up setups and the
difficulty of finding some of them (bouncey). Defitnely fun in gameplay and well balanced.

Lev 2: I’ve played this one quite a bit over, …..(a while) ;P.
The powerup setup is good. Since it’s a small(sort of :P) lev it’s good that the seekers arn’t to hard to get.
    Good level and well built

Lev 3: “Wheefun!” defitnely a fun lev with tons of secrets and cool trigs doing ….interesting stuff ;P.(just figured out I have to do 19 levs ;P *aka shortens review)

Lev 4: Small and ..interesting. I dont like how the bases are so close together , still an interesting lev.

Lev 5: I love this lev ;P. Tons of stuff to figure out, and a lev that takes
    time to master.

Lev 6: Cool lev by mike himself. It’s big so in team play it would be cool and there are plenty of weapons and stuff.

Lev 7: Good lev with tons of stuff and , things.

    Lev 8: This levs a bit…..open ;P

Lev 9: It’s a pretty cool lev , but I think it could have , something more

Lev 10: Nothing much different with lev 10, intersting lev thats open for movement.

    Lev 11: It’s a cool lev that I’ve played a bit in jj2.

Lev 12: Weird lev , not my favorite

Lev 13: The bases are quite easy to defend with the bounceys and the long paths, but they are open so theres something

lev 14: State of the art in design, this truly
does have an amazing amount of detail in it.

Lev 15: Sort of hard paths with the stuff sticking out everywhere, and another shadow lev ;P. Its ok not me favorite though.

Lev 16: Fun lev I like it , and it works quite well in Ctf.

Lev 17: Confusing lev , ya…..definetly, very big and , somewhat interesting

Lev 18: Pretty cool level that has lots of cool things like the secret to the Rf and stuff.

Lev 19: *gasp mike put it in ;P. I never saw that coming , but I can’t say much more then “fun fun” about this lev.

Thanx for skipping this, cuz u probably didn’t read it :P.

I don’t feel like reviewing all the levels this time – suffice to say that the levels in this pack are a far better assortment then that of the CTF pack. Except for two Horrible levels called “Cold Day Battle” and “Bobo meets Royalty” that got in there somehow. And there are a few not all that good levels. But mainly, this is a far better pack.

Ok I’ll rate all the levs unlike somepeople (points to violet)

Lev 0 ? ;P) this is a weird level, very small , stupid , and made poorly

Lev 1: A good level in the heart of carrotus ;P. Plenty of ammo, powerups and stuff to do

Lev 2: A cool level seeing what was done with the tileset, good weapons placement and fun as well

Lev 3: not a bad lev , weird background but its ok

Lev 4: interesting arrangement of weapons like the seeekrs
and the burnies ;P but otherwise a bit weird.

Lev 5: a good lev with a discret destruct scenery for entrance to temple , but otherwise
    very cool.

Lev 6:kind of hard to get around, and not one of my favorites

Lev 7:a fun reinactment of jj1’s diamondus, definetly a good and fun lev ;P

Lev 8: Horrible lev, u cant see where ur going half the time with the lousy background and the tons of springs, but for the tileset u cant do much with it anyhow

Lev 9: horrible background here, u have to have the textured background off if u want to survive playing it, its a
fun lev though with good gameplay

Lev 10:interesting with the see through tubes, but not much cool with the lev, pretty average

Lev 11: a fun lev with a cool tileset, and , plenty of ammo , and good gameplay and stuff ;P

Lev 12: a great lev thats really fun and easy to get the hang of, cool secrets and a definte good lev

Lev 13: If i’ve ever seen a bad lev posted this would be it, sloppy all weapons together , and stupid. The lev doesn’t look like the person took more then 5 minutes to make and shouldn’t be in teh pack

Lev 14:gemstone warfare, a fun lev with good weapons but it can be confusing with the way the layers are arranged.

Lev 15: great level , it looks spectacular with the eyecandy and such, and a fun one to play (a good break from all the sucky ones)

Lev 16:….couldn’t find this one i guess it must be lev 0 or not exist :P

    Overall opinion:

Anyhow ive took the time to do a quick review on the levels and overall. The ctf pack is better, this one has to many levs that are n00bish , there are many good levs though, just not enough.
