Pretty good level… the eyecandy is good and all, but only layers 4 and 8 were used. It’s also sort of small, but I liked it.
Download? Yes, if you feel like playing a fun, quick level.
This is my first Single player level. It is a small level filled whit ammo and bad guys. But Please dont rate it too low. I have only uploaded this level to see if I can make good levels. P.S. use the blaster to blow up walls. some of them can only be opened by blaster

Not bad for afirst SP level.
Tileset use: rather good, though I saw a few bugs.
Event placement: good enough. Maybe a little too much ennemies.
Eyecandy: not that good. There was no layer 5-7, and not much on layer 4.
Layout: a bit straight.
Gameplay: fun enough…
Overall: a good first SP level.

Well… I know that Blade is a good tileset maker, and his tilesets are easy to use, like the author used in his level the blade’s forest tileset. But the tilesets are not very different like. He makes the tilesets to view different places with different background and eyecandy tiles but paths and walls are same like. But we are now talking about fanden’s “the evil forest” level. So let’s go to rate it. And now a new section in my review: Music choice! And the “effects and other” section off from the rating. But I may still give + points in the extra point section if you put some (good) effects. If they are bad or some bugs, they cause – points.
DESIGN
Medium. I can understand that the charachter has come to a some kind of forest but this doesn’t an original story.
6/10
EYECANDY
This is also medium. No big bugs, but no other background. Except the underground place where the eyecandy was bad.
6/10
ORIGINALITY
Well. Nothing.
2/10
GAMEPLAY
This is just one level, and quite short one. And this level is also non-playable with jazz, because in the underground place there is a buttstomp event to the right, so I guessed that there must be a event like that, cause I can’t get forward, and because I was playing with jazz, I needed to type jjmorph to change to spaz. And I guessed right.
3/10
DIFFICULTY
Well this belongs to the medium side again.
7/10
INCLUDING
So, because there’s only one level, only 5. Ya put blade’s letters to the background in the level for show who has made tileset and also with a text. But still 5 because no readme file.
5/10
MUSIC CHOICE
This is one of the best thing in the level. This works well with the level. Nice one!
8/10
PICKUP AND ENEMY PLACEMENT
Pickups were placed well but enemies not.
5/10
+ or – extra points
+1 (Single level with good boss)
Overall 5.375
Level rank: Average level
Download recommendation: yes, I’m not really sure, but try anyway.
Oh, so an average level. Keep practicing and get a higher rating. Good luck on your level making. (or does level-making need luck?)

Hmmm… this level’s titleset is a unknown titleset for me, “Forest Night” by Blade. There isn’t a story, but that doesn’t matter for 1 single player level.
GAMEPLAY:
It’s not so perfect. Some small mazes with that stuff underground. You’v got to shoot a wall and buttstomp and shoot. And to be onest, this was a difficult maze for me! At some points you have maken more than 1 passage, so that’s good. You can play this level at 2 directions, but both lead to one way: the way to Bubba, the end boss.
A funny idea, when tose rocks are tumbeling, a text string says: Look out for “The Rolling Stones, it adds a feeling to me. :)
Too bad there are some strait parts, because that make’s the level boring.
But, the parts aren’t that long, tough.
PROS: Very, I mean very good that you know how to use background layers, shooting and buttstomp scenery, when I made my first level I din’t know how to use that. And some new ideas, but not to interesting, tough…
CONS: Some strait parts. And when you shoot or buttstomp a part, it leaves ugly stuff behind, you’v got to look for yourself I’v you want to know what I mean. Too bad it’s a bit small.
RATING: 7.5
ITEMS:
Fore the most Power-ups you have too find a secret, good. And that golden coins in the wall, I can’t get them!
Okay, it’s for the eyecandy. A bit to much ammo if you ask me, in the middle of the level I have a power’d up Toaster with 96 ammo! And the ammo is a bit “closed up together”. I mean thay the ammo is to much in a small room.
Too bad there isn’t any candy in the level. I like candy! On easy you have very much carrots, but on medium or hard, there are just too less carrots! Try to prevent that. P.S.: I can fly over that fly off area!
PROS: The power-ups are good spreaded over the level.
CONS: Toom much ammo at one place, and a strange carrot placement.
RATING: 6.5
EYECANDY:
Very good for your first level, but as I readed in the reviews, all Blades titleset where easy to use…
Good of you that you have almost placest everywhere Blade.
At some points there are standing trees and other eyecandy, good.
And when you shoot that blocks, keep practising okay?
PROS: Good for your first level.
CONS: Only that blocks, for the rest nothing. :)
RATING: 8.0
ENEMIES:
Too much at some points. And a strang enemie placement, what does the demon doing in a forest?
PROS: I’ll just keep it N/A’ed.
CONS: N/A
RATING: N/A
EASY, MEDIUM OR HARD?
Between easy or hard… Not to difficult, not too easy…
PROS: N/A
CONS: N/A
RATING: N/A
OVERALL:
This level is big and good for your first one. Good gameplay, and it not get’s boring, and thats good. I think it’s funny when you put enemies in your level who there don’t belong. And good music choice!
PROS: Very good for your first level, keep practising and you’ll get a higher rating, I’m sure!
CONS: Too much enemies at one place, and and those small things who first levels have.
RATING: 7.2
I’ll think you must be happy with a 7.2 for your first level, aren’t you?
Keep up the good work, and who nows, maybe you’ll be the level master! ;)
I’m to tired to write a long review so I’ll make it short :)
-The design was simple and the paths were straight.
-Too much groups of enemies
-some pickups
And that’s basically it :)
Nothing too good or too bad. A simple average level – a ‘6’ will be enough.
Dan
To small.
(A 1 because it is too small seems a bit…uh…overboard. Rating removal. -Trafton)[This review has been edited by Trafton AT]
