Description

As a follow up to my Xargon conversion, I made a conversion of another one of Epic’s games, Jill of the Jungle. It has just about every tile from all 3 episodes. What is missing lies mainly in the animations that aren’t very useful when used with the Jazz engine. There is no example level. This tileset is GREAT for tests.

    Hmmm first of all boost up the graphics!!!!!!! I cant give it an high rating because i dont like it but some people just like it. a 7.0

    Yes I can see how it would be useful….. for TESTS as you said, nothing else. But I see its a good conversion so a 7.5 for a good conversion. By the way Violet will be on your back again about using Epics graphics :D.

    Very well, another conversion from Epics games. since this is an a conversion, i will use my “conversion”
    system to rate this.

    Tiles:there are many tiles form jill of the jungle,it was one of my favorite games when i was something 7 years old.
    hmmm…..there were some kind of blocks
    ,grassy tiles, beach tiles(i think :) )
    and mushroom stuff,wood tiles,rock tiles,armors what have axes,sky,apples,spikes,roots,moving eyes,windows,and other stuff like that.
    tiles were here, by episode.¨
    episode 1 has good amount of tiles, but the other episodes dont.other episodes should have more tiles in it.

    Masking:hmmm..good..There were no annoying masking or auto mask.There were nice mask.i liked the masking.Trees were masked well and so were the bridges,blocks,grass tiles,those “beach tiles”, etc.like i said before i liked this masking! :D

    Easy to use?:Oh yes!this tileset is not so hard….but not so easy to use,but if you have played this game, youll know how to use this!

    OMG you bring the memories floating back!

    Ahh.. I still remember the music… lalala (does anyone know where to get the music files? If yes, please message me.. lol :D)

    But enough of me.

    This is a nice conversion of Epic’s “Jill of the Jungle” which has.. everything!

    It features all the worlds (Jungle, Lava and all that), Jill/enemy-animations, switches and muuuch more.

    Extreme downlad recommendation especially for all nostalgic people who loved Jill! :D

    8Recommended:

    This is an OK tileset.

    EYECANDY: This tileset uses the graphics from the excellent Jill of the Jungle DOS game. It looks like the proper game but there isn’t a very good background to use in Layer 8. 7/10

    LAYOUT: There are quite a lot of empty spaces in this set. Even though that is all of the Tiles from JOTJ, you could have used the spaces for a background. 6/10

    MASKING: The tiles have been masked correctly. Automask was not used. Background tiles have not been masked which is good. 9/10

    EASE OF USE: The tiles can be animated just like in the game. The set is easy to use. 8/10

    TOTAL: 30/40 (7.5)

    DOWNLOAD RECOMMENDATION?

    YES!

    This is not the best Tileset I’ve ever seen. I’ll give you a 5½.
