    It’s really great, but…

It can’t be submitted if it isn’t a gameplay part! Unfortunately, this will be deleted. But beware everyone, 2nd part of my episode “Familiar World” is in development. I want to place here this music, so it won’t lost forever…
    “evil laugh”

Edit:All right, it isn’t be deleted… but “Familiar World 2” this WILL appear,
since this is really extra remix.

    My rating:8

    First this:

Cooba, this is classified as a Jazz remix, which is allowed. Keep it in mind people, read the rules for god’s sake! :p

And Bjarni, Jazz 2 version 1.23 can play modules of other formats than .j2b You can always use Modplug (recommended due to repeat option) or Winamp to play those files

Ok, enough ranting, time for a review!

Tubelectric in Xmas style, this I gotta see (read: hear :p). Red with green? Since Tubelectric is my favourite music, I’ll be very strict, or just the opposite :p

It doesn’t sound bad, not bad at all. It’s somewhat downplayed, soothing music the the necessary samples you always hear in those christmas songs :p Nothing to it if you ask me. Of course, how could I forget the repeat option of ModPlug (I always have that thing on :p). Even on repeat it doesn’t sound ehm… broken :p The only thing I found disappointing is that it’s not “complete”: I found some sample missing from the orignal and it doesn’t always follow the original. That doesn’t hurt the remix that much tho, it still sounds good.

    Verdict:
Since this is the first Tubelectric remix and the new author seems experience in tracking, i’ll rate this mildly: a 7. I’m looking forward to new stuff from him already :p

Bjarni, any module music file works in JJ2. I think they include .mod, .s3m, .669, .xm, and .j2b. J2B’s are only compressed module files, and they are slightly smaller; you also do not have to put the filename extension in the music box in Level Properties. For this, you’d put in jjsong03.s3m, rather than jjsong03.
Anyhow, good song. It sounds mostly like an instrument change, but it’s nice… it makes a more peiceful version out of Tubelectric. Original, too. The fill that leads to the 1337 part of the song that the morons Epic cut out in the JJ2 Tubelectric remix is really cool. Most people fail to make a good one, but you did that nicely.
Download: If you’re making a Christmas level, definetely.
Use this: If I’m making a Christmas level, most likely.

Joe, Bjarni has autism at a moderate level. Most definetely not severe, and not mild, but he has it, so don’t get angry at him.[This review has been edited by labratkid]

Yes, Jazz Jackrabbit-remixes are allowed, even when they’re NOT (currently) used in any levels or so! And yes, don’t rate the music, rate the remix quality instead! ;) But that’s all beside the point. On to the song.

An interesting take on Tubelectric. Overall a nice choice of instruments. Though too bad that you didn’t find any room for the melody, which was one of the highlights of the original version.
Another gripe is the somewhat “dull” bass line. It could use some spice, and not just in the climax of the song.
Speaking about the climax, that could also do with a bit more bang. The build up to it is just fine, with the reverse cymbal and all. But you could do with a bit more than just letting all instruments play different parts. Think of for example a different snare-drum or some supportive pads (strings/synths/etc.). You could easily squeeze out a few more channels to do so.

Well, that’s all for constructive criticism. Time to get yourself up and rolling for your next tune. Keep this up![This review has been edited by Haze][This review has been edited by Haze]

Quite good. It is partly based on the JJ2 Tubelectric, but basically it’s the old one. Like Haze said, the bass is a bit dull. It makes some climax, but later, when all the channels are filled, it’s barely hearable. But a + for you is that you used the MP3 convert ending – something what we at TIMM discovered lately. After listening to this, I’d like to see a wintery Tubelectric tileset change… OK, let’s make the final verdict. I say it’s not much of a remix, more an instrument change, but what you have done, sounds good. When I say good, I don’t talk about repeatity – it’s a problem of Tubelectric, gotta say, but still, a little of imagination and you could make it less repeative. But since this is your second Jazzy track, and first remix of ‘em, I give you a hard 7. Now, I hope that you are not done, ‘cause we haven’t got any competition on J2O for us since I and AcId formed a team… By the way, maybe he’ll show up to review this, too.

I rarely rate musics, since its hard (at least for me) to review them, and even harder to give a long, descriptive review on them (at least for me). This I had to make an exception to because I loved this song.

The song starts out with a christmasy tubelectric like beat, then some new notes keep getting added in. The beat is pretty repetetive, although thats how the tubelectric song is, and the fact that new notes keep being added in kinda distracts you from that. It sounds pretty winterlike , not like any xmas song, and its unique as well (I havent heard any song or remix like this). Plus its fun to listen to. As for the remix quality, I can easily tell what parts are which in the original song here, since the beats sound the same except more wintery. 7.7 is final rating.

Winterland Thunderland… Legendar mix by my favorite (you know what’s sarcasm, no?) reviewer, Joseph Collins… Well, look at biased review by me.

Beggining samples are nice, they are going to tell this is not one from those stupid Tubelectric remixes. And it’s not.

It’s very soft… Tempo is very slow, samples are good in first tubelectric theme, in second it’s worse… They are also bit monotone. Beats are too quiet, mostly there are jingle-bells, sometimes hi-hats. It’s typical winter mix. Soft and ambient. It’s also repetitive.

    (+) Ambient
    (+) Winterful
    (-) Repetitive
    (-) Monotone samples

If searching some good music for your single player level, without much action, that’s it. Else, someone can enjoy, someone not.

Another one of the best remixes in j2o! I love this one! =)
The selecting of the samples is very good, just like the effect in the begining of the track. You’ve missed the main error of jj remixers, this track is not repetative and it nice. The thing I don’t like it’s the ending part. Ok, it’s beautiful how the melody changes, but I feel it too empty. I think it’s need a string instrument or something to the ending part…
Ok, it’s a good track, and I love it & hope you will realese another ones!

I can listen to the music, but it doesn’t works for jj2, don’t bug me to rate this, I won’t! No excuse because I won’t!

To Labratkid: No I doesn’t have autism! No, I was lying, I don’t wan’t somebody to know I have autism! Sorry, I was lying![This review has been edited by the real one Bjarni]
