Heh, yet another Jazz 1 midi, this time of the boss music. As always with midi’s you can’t play them in JJ2! You need Media Player or something similar to play them.
And midi’s sound different on each player, depending on the midi driver you’re using (I’m using the Microsoft GS Wavetable)

Anyway, this midi is very true to the original, tempo, melody and beat are all preserved. It’s useless for a level, but it still provides listening pleasure. Next time I’d like to hear some echoes and louder instruments.

Verdict? Download recommended, especially if you love the music of Jazz 1, but don’t have the .s3m versions.

nails a keep out sign on bedroom door

He he, this will come in handy with my little eh…‘project’.

This is going to be short and sweet:

    Sound: 3/4
    Quality: 3/4
    Extras: 0/4
    Effort: .7/.7
    Download?: Yes.

    Good work!
At 00:26 there was a scream sound in the original, but now there’s nothing. I think the sample selecting is perfect (or really nice =)), and it’s a good work as tubelectric’s midi version. The guitars can be a little louder, but dunno… There are not real errors, just not same things after the original track, and it’s not problem. Ok it’s just a midi and it can’t good such good as S3Ms, but it’s still a good work, and for theres alls, I will give you 9. Another music for the pleasure of jjfangame makers. =) Hey, and what about your remixes? I would like to see another AcId or TIMM remixes, or they will be realese on the JJ music disc? What about them?[This review has been edited by TaZaR]

Well… What i’ve got is the real Bossmusic from JJ1 (MP3)… When I compared your MIDI and the real one I prefered the real one! But you did a great job! It’s almost impossible to create a exactly copy of JJ1 music with the “Microsoft GS Wavetable”… They used “Universal sound module” and “SB Audigy Synth” at the most of the songs…

8.0 score for the instrument / effect choise!

I agree with Danyjel “…from 1:00 to 1:23 (end) it sounds empty…”. You should have filled it with some more sound!

6.0 score for the song total

But all these MIDI’s can’t be puted into a Jazzlevel (That I hope you already know ;)…) I have no use of your MIDI’s in the Game!

    7.0 Score total!

(I’m on Chrysilis and will soon add it here so let me take care of Chrysilis OK? ;)…)[This review has been edited by Delvour]

Nice. It sounds pretty close to the origanal, but form 1:00 – 1:23, its pretty empty. But nothing is missing, i did some comparisons. Like Delvour saids though, cant be put in a jj2 level. I give it a 7.2! Good job

This thing is great, sounds awesome, althought I think you should make the song loop around 1 or 2 more times.

Whatever, Unknown, because I liked it, I can’t rate it the way I want to? Fine a 8.5 then.[This review has been edited by Rapcore]

I can see you used the Orchestra Hits as an alternative to the low vox in the real song, but if you did up a few complex volume changes with those notes and another instrument, I think you’d get a pretty good effect.
The overall sounding of the MIDI is a bit weak, and probably needs a bit of track layering, and maybe a stronger bass. It’s understandable the guitars in MIDI drivers sound absolute (insert word here) in comparison to real ones. (Let alone VST guitars.)

But for your sake, I’ll rate this an 8 for a good try.

It’s quite okay, but I’d prefer the guitar to be a bit higher and use gunshot instead of orchestra hit. I’ll try to give a rating and bigger review later.

    Once again only “.j2b” works

    uh….no…

I like it! But i’m too lazy to give it a rating. But… I’ll give it a 7.6, which is now 7.7.

    Hey, nice track! :D
I cannot remember the original so I can’t really rate, but it’s a really cool track, very nice. Wanna have JJ1 again :’(
Sadly .mid format isn’t compatible with JJ2 and the game crashes if you try to use it in one of your levels. Acid, can you make J2Bs? You could make an alternative boss.j2b or boss2.j2b file (we can save the original one somewhere else) so we could use it in levels. It’s much better than the boss music from jj2.
    SCORE: N\A

But like said before, no rating because I don’t remember the original.

Blah. This song sounds bland. It sounds the original, but it doesn’t sound upbeat enough. Needs a better guitar.
