I was searching for good new tilesets and have found this one. It’s rank 5 in the tileset category, so it Has to be good… I thought. But as I opened it in JCS, it shocked me. This fastly-Painted small tileset is rated even better than Disguise’s tilesets. It doesn’t deserve to.
So, here’s my review:
Theme:
It’s supposed to be a factory-theme, but I can’t really recognize it.

Main tiles:
Well, there are all necessary ground tiles. They’re untextured and look boring. Furthermore, vines, poles and suckertubes are missing.

Eyecandy:
There isn’t any eyecandy besides the well done animations.

Background:
Nothing special. Just a textured bg and some ugly buildings for Layers 6&7

Animations:
I think the animations are well done in this tileset. There are also switches, which are missing in many other tilesets.

Why has this tileset not had any ratings? I really like this tileset!
EYECANDY: 3 Tilesets are included in this pack and each one is the same but they come in 3 different colours, so these 3 tilesets could be used for a certain time of day: Morning, afternoon & night. I like the animated Robot tiles, they are really cool. It looks like a Factory. 9/10
LAYOUT: The set appears small but there are lots of tiles that can be used. There are very few blank spaces, so most of the Tileset space has been used. 10/10
MASKING: Automask has been used but that’s not much of a problem. Tiles have been masked correctly. Actually, I don’t find background masking as much of a problem because the buidings in the background could also be used in Layer 4 for the character to walk on. 10/10
EXAMPLE LEVEL: When you start the level you see lots of moving Robots in the background. I really liked this level. I am amazed at how much can be done in a level with a tileset this small. This will not be counted in the Rating.
EASE OF USE: This tileset is easy to use. Lots of the tiles can be animated. Some of the tiles can be used as conveyor belts with Belt Left/Right events. 9/10

FIRST IMPRESSION-
Opening up the tileset in the JCS didn’t really wow me. In fact, the tileset looks really small. But I loaded up the example level, and started playing it. It blew me away, and shows that if someone applies themself using this tileset, amazing eyecandy should be acheivable.
PLEASE, RATE THIS SET! RATE IT!!
And if the administrators have cleared your ratings, restart the reviews.

I can see very good how I need to create a level with that tileset, which enemies I should use and which boss is the best.
Devans Robot and Bolly are good bosses for this tileset. This tileset has all what is required for an ‘Perfect’-rank.

When I played the eg levels (single player first) I thought the tileset was great because of the animated tiles and how the tileset relates to the story (It really has a ‘factory’ feel to it).
I thought the eg level was not as great as you cound make this tileset. (The robots belt could be on the foreground prehaps)
Same with the battle.

I agree with n00b, tileset was small when
i opened JCS. However, I think it was a little too normal for some reason. It’s not like The best tileset in J2O.
(No offense) A little blury, but it makes it personal, so it’s a good thing
It needs more stuff. And yes it’s easy tileset to use.
My overall rating is 7.0, a lot people might disagree with me, but that’s what i think
