Wow. These levels are huge.
Firstly, I’ll mention the few bugs these have so I won’t forget them.
- Spaz can reach a lot more places then jazz, and in some cases, places he’s not suppose to reach.
-In starlight sparkle I can reach the bonus area without getting the required coins by simply TNTing the stomp blocks and RF climbing my way up.
And now, the reasons why I found this enjoyable:
-Music choice was good.
-Levels were long and took effort to beat
-Difficulty was good. Not too hard that you’d get frustrated, but hard enough that I found myself at 1 h a few times, and even died once (thank god for save points ;))
-The levels didn’t feel empty, there was always some pickups, baddies, or something else to keep you occupied.
-Eyecandy was basic, but nice. Stuff tiled etc.
Conclusion: A nice small pack of levels, that are all around designed well, and fun to play, especially on a rainy day or when you’re bored. I was thinking of giving this an 8.2 or an 8.5, but then I found that these levels use difficulty, and the readme is well designed, so I decided on an 8.5. These are old, but still fair well to today’s standards, so if you don’t have these already, get them.

I can’t believe I didn’t review this earlier. I LOVE IT!
LEVEL PACK PLAYING TIME: 1-2 hours
EYECANDY: The Eyecandy ROCKS! The backgrounds and foregorunds are SUPER! It looks like a proper city. The levels NEVER felt empty as there was eyecandy everywhere you went. 10/10
GAMEPLAY: There are 2 levels in this pack but they are HUGE! I was on the first level for about 1 hour. There’s so much to do in both these levels. I had this whole pack finished in about 1:30! 10/10
PICKUPS & PLACEMENT: There are so many items to pick up in this level. Lots of weapons, food, gems and some coins. Everything is placed really well. Power-ups are hidden rather than out in the open. My only gripe is the Bonus Area in LV2, you can blow up the blocks with TNT and use the RF Jump trick to get up there. But apart from that everything is placed really well. 9/10
EVENTING: I really loved the way the “Flick Light” events were used on the street light objects. I also loved the way it went darker when you were in front of a building. 10/10
ENEMIES: Not too many or too less. Enemies are NOT found in annoying places like on the edge of platforms. They are placed perfectly. 10/10
TOTAL: 49/50 (9.8)
BONUSSES:
The music in LV1 just ROCKS. I love that White Coffee music. +0.1
The level pack includes a very well written ReadMe file and a nice little game where you can try to beat the Hi-Score if you found the password hidden in the levels. +0.1
DEDUCTIONS:
NONE
TOTAL BONUSSES: +0.2
TOTAL DEDUCTIONS: 0
GRAND TOTAL: 10/10
GRADE: S – EXCELLENT
DOWNLOAD RECOMMENDATION?
YEAH!
I know it’s TSF, but if you do have it download this pack NOW!

one (two exactly) of the best levels i’ve played in a long time. nice gameplay, item placement and details. the levels were huge, though i didn’t feel necessity for a custom episode for only 2 levels :)

2 Town based levels that mainly follow the original JJ2 level guidelines, but more polished. Relatively scarce ammo and just a few carrots makes for a fair challenge. There are secrets and goodies everywhere, an original bonus area if you get the coins, and interesting usage of springs and collapse scenery here and there. Old but recommended!

Wow, great work martin! This a very good single player episode including two long,
good-looking levels using the TSF Town tileset + music plus one funky custom music file
called White Coffee. "5 Alive" even includes a shortcut for the Jazz2 menu to choose
the episode directly from within the game (not from the homecooked levels list).
The ZIP file is jampacked with a nice readme and a bonus game (which i didnt try out though).
Every Jazz2 fan should download and play this immediately!
by the way EvilMike: your comments about TSF get boring, just download TSF somewhere (some people know an URL). Its just better than 1.23 (thats why its called 1.24). Thats it.

Best little levelpack ever seen.
The eye candy is SuperB
It’s difficult (I like that :)
Levels are long.
That means that you have to download this.
hmmm
this level pack relly does rule!
I encourage you all to review and download it… martin has once again, truly outdone himself. One of the greatest and most known level creators has done it again. I downloaded it, as i always download martins pack, and i had suspicions when i heard there was a .j2e file included. I tried out the pack instantaniously. It ruled. If you want 5 minutes x2 of good fun, download 5 alive.
i love these levels, as they are long, trickier than the official levels, and the eye candy blows me away. Good use of many tiles, i have trouble using the townhouse tilesets.

Woah is all I have to say. :P
Fabulous eyecandy. Great everything :P. This completely rules. As Black Ninja says, the townhouse tileset is tough, I just struggled with it to make me own level. (: Awesome job martin. (:

Very good pack… Nice and long. However, although it is nice to be able to choose it from the episode screen (How’d you do that?) It is kind of strange that the icon is exactly the same as homecooked levels. Anyway the level almost makes the town tileset look easy to use! It’s really not (as said above). I tryed once, and gave up!
Basically the levels are great, nice layout, great use of the town tilesets, yadda yadda yadda
Anyway, wb Martin! I hope you make more good levels like these!
Oh, And this is really an 8.5 rating.
Lots of routes possible in the levels, and the eye candy is exceptional.

I really liked this levelpack.
The levels used a great-looking tileset, IMO. And they had lots of eyecandy. :)
I give this a 9 and a Download recomendation. :)

Here`s another great level pack by Martin. The level design in each level is outstadning, and so is the enemy, weapen, food and so on placement. The levels themself are huge, and good enought to rival with Overlords RHG:TF levels. Btw, i also know how to do the episode thingie. If you`re all nice, i me tell it someday:-).

Good job! You made wonderful lvls which is hard to make with the Town tileset! But one thing is not good that there were so many buildings in the lvls. It made the lvls boring, but generally it was fine.

Look, nice levels, but there are just to big, next time also put less gems in it…
Good levels, just like the original…
just watch out that you don’t make them too big or don’t add the same stuff every time. Use some variation, a story or some kind of level boss… but I like your levels!!!
I’m too tired to write bigger review. I just say
Overall 8.7

I think it doesn’t matter these levels are version 1.24 (TSF). They’re perfect.
Why does everyone need to make the best level packs tsf? It makes me sick. I know you used a tsf tileset, but your last level pack was also tsf only and I hear some levels were not the tsf tilesets. At least some of the levels in it could have been version 1.23.
Maybe if your real nice i’ll tell you how. :)
I want more people to review 5 Alive even if they are repeating others words.
What do you think? I need to know! :)
