nice dude. i cant believe paint could make a tileset this good. lol. yea its nice except for the stuff you ripped from JJ2. but overall, nice buildings and samuri rabbits. 7.7 man, good job.
Tileset based in Japan, Edo time. Features houses, shops, teahouses…and of course the usual stuff. Time spent: about 4 hours, maybe 5. I added a small example level, so you can see what the set looks like in action. Please DO NOT rate the level. Only rate the tileset! Thanx!

Cool, Finally someone has made a Japanese tileset as I have a music file people seem to think it sounds japanese and it might fit this :)
‘Ed Japan’ is a new, fresh tileset by Splash. Its got some stuff to make it feel like a real old Japanese vilage, like Japanese looking houses and stuff. Its got the basic destruct blocks, in a pretty spiffy orange-geyish colour:P. Some of the ground or actuely most of it, was taken from Splash’s ‘Dragonball continued’ tileset, but still look very good in this set. The ground is nice, looks pretty well drawn. The set also has other basic tiles, like the well known spikes, vines and suckertubes. Splash also put in a neatly animated elevator, like in his ‘Dragonball continued’ set and Agamas ‘Sirius’ set. There are also some plants, taken from the ‘Carottus’ tileset by epic, but still fiting in pretty neatly. Splash also put in some Japanese looking rabbits, wich are also pretty well drawn. Even ‘tho there are some thing taken from JJ2 stets, like the river and trees from Carottus, and the mountians and textured background(wich doesnt work to well) from Holiday hara day, this is a pretty spiffy tileset. It deserves my 7.2 and my download recomendation.
Sucky level but that’s not what I rated :P

THOSE LIFTS RULE! they actually work. _
The tileset is good, a few un-neccery tiles but still good.
Download recomendation=Yup =)
It’s a nice tileset overall, and the first Japanese tileset made for Jazz 2. It contains various Japanese houses and lamps and stuff like that, but there are some drawbacks:
1) There are tiles ripped from epic tilesets (trees, backround trees, mountains), bad, BAD mistake in my opinion, I don’t like it.
2) The textured background doesn’t work. There are ppl who would gladly help you with it (I am one myself), just ask ;)
3) On an artistic note, the ground tiles lack texture, it’s one colour all the way through (except the 2 eye candy tiles, but that doesn’t help too much). If you took more time in drawing those, your rating would’ve boosted, and your tileset would’ve looked a lot better. It’s the most important block of the tileset, and the one used the most.
Another thing. Good job for placing about 1000 boards around that tell ppl NOT to rate the level, I like that ;)
Not what I had in mind. Good effort though.
You did this in PAINT?! Incredible!
No that won’t affect my rating. But it is impressive :)
It has that ol’ “10 Crayon Box” look to it, but nevertheless, in spite of a general lack of detail, the whole set comes together pretty well.
BTW, some more ground texture really would help a lot. Prehapes even if you blended some other shades in with it, kinda to give it a more “dirt” and less “painted brown” look to it.
And the background does need a little work. No, I haven’t a clue how they make those things work, but then help has already been offered to you in this area.
Bottom line?
Solid tileset, shows potential.

WoW! Really cool! I especially like those houses and ninja rabbits. ;-) There’s also loads of other stuff like rain (let’s hope they work in background layers too), sucker tubes, pools of water, poles, vines, spikes, mountains and other neat Japanese stuff. But, the lvl does have some tiles from official tilesets like Carrotus and HH98 which lowers rating by 0.2.
7.0 and a download recommendation if y0u like Japan. ;-)
Cheers,
White Rabbit.
I had a level in the making, but during a cut-and-paste-trial-and-eror experiment (tried to get custom music to work), I lost it, and HALF MY JJ2 STUFF!!!!! I love Japan, their sushi is delicious. Why couldnt you include sushi in the tileset. Yum Yum Yum. What, Im hungry!
Personally, I don’t like this. Practically no detail whatsoever.
