Pretty tough level. Good eyecandy and use of the tileset. There were a few places that I got stuck at though, but that’s not your fault. 8.5
In Temple of the Uglies, you’re in a large temple. You will fight baddies, (turtles, helmuts, bats, monkeys, tube turtles and dragon flies) avoid spikes and hit so many trigger crates that I almost ran out of Trigger IDs. Several extra lives and checkpoints help you on your way.
Have fun! Unknown Rabbit

Huge+hard+puzzle= bingo.
The level was pretty big, it kept me busy for about 6 or 7 mins, which is pretty neat for a single player level. It was hard, and hard= good. Puzzles were very good, dunno really what to say about them. The tileset is IMO a bit boring, but since it is not yours, I can’t really complain to you. Music was boringggggg…almost made me fell asleep, could have gone sleeping in that giant maze forever, ya know…
Overall: Very Good level. Some small things (music+set) make it boring, but you should play it anyway. Hardcore battlers should stay away from it : hurray for Single Player!
Read the last line of above review: Ditto here. There just aren’t enough of those good ol’ singles.. Oh well, down to buisiness. This is a fairly decent single, but the set and music are VERY BORING!!! (I shall soon release a good size collection of music that will ufortunatley be HUGE!!!! (10, 11 megs) but have at least 30, 40 music files for level use.) Puzzles… I LOVE PUZZLES!! YAY!! WOOOOO!!!…. (ahem.) sorry. (:-(
Other than the music and set, this is awesome.

Must be my night for good levels ;)
Great piece of work here. Tileset isn’t the best, but it’s okay. And, for the record, I liked the music ;)
Well, now I’m supposed to comment on the level itself…well, what can I say? It’s a very challenging “action-puzzle”. Lots of shooting, with an emphesis on skill-based puzzles.
The level does seem to suffer from the ol’ “too-big-to-save” bug that QoB brought to everyone’s attentions (my attempts at reloading a saved level crashed JJ2), but I can hardly blame Unknown Rabbit for that. Yes, that kinda makes it an Iron Man trek, but UR helps out a lot by adding some well placed carrots, save points, and even a few hidden one-ups.
Overall, this is a very fun level.
Download this and Wacky Spaz’s Carrot Walk at Night, and you’ve got yourself a fun-filled, if very challenging, evening. Or ten minutes, depending upon how good you are ;)

Firstly, you use a old version of the tileset. But, it is not necessary to use it. Only cosmetic changes I think.
This level is the best Aztec level I’ve seen. Unknown Rabbit has figured out almost all possibilities of the tileset. The level design is the best I’ve seen and it was challeging (can you say like this??). The event placement rocks. The music just sounds a little bit cheap, and it is from JJ1, right?
Great work, Unknown Rabbit.
And to the other people: Yeah, my first one was a little crappy.[This review has been edited by Blade]
A very nice single player level, using Blade’s first tileset, Aztec. The music sounds pretty nice, its a remix of the JJ1 Turtemple song. Its a litle bit repeative, but its ok. The level itself is good, long and has good puzzles. I like the way the tileset was used, i was’nt able to find much tileing errors. I dont have anything else to say here right now, just download this.
OK. A good tileset was chosen and the use of tileset was fine
Despite having a strange name, “Temple of the Uglies” is actually a very good level. It’s a challenging single player level with a ton of trigger crates. These trigger crates add an interesting puzzle-like element to the level, which is not found in many single player levels today, but is very nice to see. The tileset was used pretty well, eyecandy was very good, and flow was also good. This is definitely one of my favorite single player downloads I’ve reviewed lately, and is certainally worth a download.
It’s a good level, only some trigger crates are driving me crazy!!!
Hmmmmm…..I like most SP levels, as long as they are beatable. This one is, ill rate it using my new SP rating method.
STORY: There is no story, but then again, this is just one level. Still, it would ove been nice to have a story…
FLOW: The layout is basic, the level has a logical path. Not the best it could of been, but above average.
PICKUPS: A little on the underused side, it would of been nice to have more food and ammo. Gems, they were ok, but more ammo.
ENEMIES: Sometimes abit overused, but the level is beatable without cheats, so thats good.
BAD POINTS: Well, other than having to few ammo, the bonus warp which i so blindly entered, has no exit, just a vine above a pit of spikes. Therefore, if you go in the warp, you cant get out :/. That wasnt such a good idea, you should of made one way out, it would of been better for the way out to be secret instead of not there at all…Some lack of placement in SOME areas, also some parts which i BELEIVE to be Spaz biased, im not entirely sure though. No wait, they were perfectly unbiased, sorry for the misunderstanding.
GOOD POINTS: Excellent tileset use, not the best but still good. Good enemy flow, having you start out fighting about 3 basic enemies, and then move on by adding another enemy, then another etc. Some well placed secrets there as well. The level also loops back to itself. Nice and difficult puzzles. Im sure there are more good points, but im to lazy to list them all.
MUSIC: Fits the level, nice melody, good choice.
OVERALL: Sure, its a good and long (and annoyingg at times) Single player level which is a good addition to anyones jj2 folder. Anywayz, i cant really rate this, because my rating would be a 7.5 and that would damage the levels overall rating to much, and the level IS a good one, sadly to say it isnt a levelpack, thats why if I would of rated, it wouldnt have been as high….
On second thought…….Ill give this an 8 because of all the puzzles etc.
