Tileset, by Disguise,

Ah yes, we all remember the day when it all starts, the day we decide to make our first tileset, the insane and unthinkable themes we can think of. Well, this was my first, and I can still remember how I wanted to make the scariest set there was. Things that went through my mind were DRIPPING BLOOD, ANGRY RED EYES, SCARY, DARK! Of course that\‘s as far as I could think. \‘Layers\’ wasn\‘t in my vocabulary, and texture was as strange to me as those sticky pieces of food you find under your plate. Yes, I was a n00b, and the tileset that I made reflected that. Of course I never uploaded the set, the mask didn\‘t work and all the tiles were moved one pixel to the left (or was ir right?), So fixing it was a distant memory. Besides, there was only that much that the dreaded MSPaint could do. Later on I got PSP5, a tool with powers way beyond those of my own. I made my first fully operational tileset (my 5th attempt), Ultimate World and I was amazingly pleased with myself and the results, but I was still a n00b. Of course later on my memories of my first attempts at tilesets were pleasant ones, and I fixed them all, but still never uploaded them. Only now, that I moved from South Africa to the UK, and Lost all my sets, do I really miss the pleasure I had of looking at them every now and then. So, this is where this tileset comes in! It\‘s a remake of my ver first tileset, but looks a LOT better. Of course the general design is still there, but since my knowledge of sets have increased i\‘ve made it accordingly. This was also finished a long time before it actually got uploaded. Made for the same reason as FiShY! so it suffered the same fate, until now, enjoy the set! :D

uh yeah well this tileset ruxors your boxors like all disguise’s tilesets and please please no one say disguise doesn’t make tilesets like he used too this is the way he used to make them and it da….darnwell rocks! He still makes great sets aswell! oh about the set? well it roxors got arrows and the stuff i like and its red hehe.[This review has been edited by krezack]

I love this bloody set. Well to the facts:
The Set has very much basic tiles which are very well painted for example those gravestones. and some funny tubes for the bg layers . THe background in layer 8 is uhm the perfect ;) it really rocks in this dark atmosphere. But there are too less tiles for the forground. And the smile should be a bat smile ;)
But for a first tileset it rrooles and how you said are this bugs due too this is ur first one .. erm i repeat

Ah, what have we here? A remake of Disguise’s first tileset? Interesting.. Creepy.. Bloody.. Messy.. I like it;)! This tileset has a great evil look. The eyes in the background look very creepy, very origenal. This tileset has a number of uses, expect a level with it from me soon. I realy, REALY like this tileset. A big fat 8.0 from me. Well, anyway…it is quite a good tileset for a first and the eyes are very cool. :-) The tileset has got all the basic tiles so, I’ll give it an 7.5 and a download recommendation.

This tileset has all the basic tiles, but not much eyecandy, the eyes at the background are cool, and the gravestones too. but I think its a bit boring…
(looks at all ratings above and is surprised) -the tileset is way too basic. way too basic! It looks pretty nice (well…Disguise, you can do better these days!), and it only contains some basic tiles and a background. Can’t really say more about it. Tileset freaks may want to get this…

I agree with Splash, it’s too basic.
This isn’t really useful either. And uploading bad, old tilesets will only bring your average down, so I suggest you upload the tilesets you think that are the best.
I forsee usage in October, 2002. Bwahahahaha.
Good things:
The artwork is excellent.
Most basic tiles are there.
In the style of Epic’s tilesets, even the basic tilesets have many variations.
Bad things:
There really isn’t anything other then basic tiles.
No ? block. Nobody ever uses them, but you should always include one anyway.
THE EYES ARE SUPPOSED TO BLINK! WE WANT ANIMATIONS!
The smiley face really destroys the atmosphere… can’t you get an evil looking one?
Craccoboy, Splash, this isn’t an old tileset. Try reading the description, it’s a Remake!
Another nice tileset by Disguise. Notice how, when people are scrabbling for the 1000th upload, they’re cranking out as much as possible?
Well, onto the review. The tileset looks good and has some basic tiles and a bit of decorative stuff like headstones. It would be better if there were more stuff, maybe a cracked headstone, variations, some creaky old fences, etc. Also, animations. Blinking eyes, wriggling roots or whatever. Otherwise the tileset can look a little plain. Not quite up to usual quality, but as it’s a remake of an old tileset, I’ll let it slide.
Cool and original tileset but it lacks a bit in diff tiles and stuff i wanted to do more :( after a while the set can be bit boring how ever this one is better then te average newbie tileset ;P

The tileset is cool, i love the backround, even if it isnt textured, those eyes are awesome, especially if you play a level with this set late at night. The tileset has the basic things, and a nice……bloody….ground with tombstones and dripping blood and brown dirt like walls. It has backround layer branches or pipes, whatever they are, and has a lot of stuff. Not the easisest to use, but fairly simple and fun. I reccomend this to all evil people out there, and to Batty Buddy (Halloween), but not to little kids who enjoying being home alone at night while playing computer games. The music was quite breathtaking, and I have one comment about it-Thank god i wasnt listening to this at night :O:O:O.
