Commander Keen 4... | Lark | Tileset conversion | 7.8 |
Commander Keen 4 Tilesets Copyright (C) 2004 LAbRaTkiD of OLC Okay, first of all, I would like to thank Scizor CT the most for all his inspiration, his perfectionist attitude that made this tileset much better in the long run, him ripping the Keen 4 tiles for me (using TED5), and making an example level that will be released in the second reupload of the tilesets. Oh, yes, and Scizor fixed up the SGA a bit because he didn't think it looked good enough. So now it looks better. Yay for that! =D Second of all, FireSworD gets thanked, too, for some beta testing, making an example level that will be released in the second reupload of the tilesets, and inspiration. ID Software also gets thanked for making the tilesets in the first place, of course. Violet CLM gets thanked for making a wonderful palette for the tilesets. Radium also gets thanked for something that didn't really help me all that much in the long run, but helped me out temporarilly. Disguise gets thanked for helping me find out how big I can make the tileset source images and get however many animations. On that topic, Bobby aka DizZy gets helped as well for the same purpose, although, without thinking, told me that I could make the tileset image 320x25600 pixels and still get a decent amount of animations. I'd like to point out that the reason that I had to upload these all as six separate sets is because the tile limit for sets made with JJ2 1.23 is rather small. The forest tileset is split up into three tilesets - one includes palm trees, one includes pine trees, and the other modifies the grey palette entries slightly so that they are tinted blue, as requested by FireSworD so the coins would go along with the lifewater drops. On top of those three, there is the cave tileset, the ice tileset, and the pyramid tileset. The ice and pyramid tilesets have the added bonus of having the SGA in them, or the Standard Galactic Alphabet. Write secret messages in your levels with it... like hate messages to jerks at school and stuff. Oh, and Xion, if you make a level with this, don't put any hate messages at Derby in it ;-). These tilesets took a total of 13 days to make (from February 16th, 2004 - February 29th, 2004). I used Paintshop Pro8 to make them. Umm... *thinks* What else... Well, I guess that's all I have to say. Goodbye, mine friends! ;-D Update #2... Two example levels have been included, by FireSworD and Scizor CT. A third update will *possibly* contain one by Snooz. Update #3... An example level by Snooz was uploaded online. You can see the link on the upload's information on J2O, where you downloaded this file. http://www.jazz2online.com, for the people who are feeling a bit forgettful today. I spelled forgettful wrong, I think. But I'm going to keep it like that. The third update includes a palette tile in the cave tileset, the pyramid tileset, and the ice tileset. Thus, the snow, pole, and other palette events should work okay with those tilesets now. No changes were made to the other 3 tilesets. Thanks to Violet and Scizor for pointing this out. Scizor pointed out that they didn't work, and Violet pointed out why. I'd like you all to know, by the way, that I went to Lowe's today. Lowe's is a big warehouse with lots of stuff to buy! I went there today, and looked at the toilets, while my mom was looking for something (I don't know what she was looking for), and they had this really cool toilet that looked like a space toilet! It was like the toilet of the future. I really wanted it, but it was a lot of money. There was also this other toilet with lots of buttons on it and it had a jagged shaped toilet seat. There was a guy with a beard at Lowe's, too. NOW, BYE.
