Woops! Almost overlooked this!
O my….
Well now Im very glad this got uploaded. First of all I must say I like the things you ‘took’ from rpgmaker and final fantasy :) and the way they are used as well. The concept of ‘elemental’ assault is very well put.
The gameplay is interesting too, the offensive team has the easiest job in this I think…. (Or so it seemed when I played defensive :)).
Now for the bad things: The defensive team has to guess where to go, because the ‘warp system’ is not in correct order. That makes gameplay a hell of a lot harder for the defensive team, which already has a harder job, because the offensive team gets closer and closer and especially at the end, there is not much to do, but act as human (or is that rabbit…)shield.’
Anyway, good job on the level. If you fix the warps in your next version you will get a 10, but for now…
First of all there actually is a Fanolint one, but not very good at that, it has only a few tiles, like the jazz1medivo.
But now as for this. The conversion is very good, most jungrock things are present. Its sad that there is no good way to get the enemies too :(.
Anyway. 7.3 for the conversion.
Hope to find a Dreempipes or Nippius next.
Well, well. Craccoboy finally decided to upload the levels to j2o. I am sure that you will find the guts/time to upload some of your levels that are…better than this one.
Like the assault level… But now as for the review of this…quest/ rpg.
This level is indeed a quest, but not a really tough one at that. The puzzles are not really all that hard and the gameplay is not all its cracked to be.
The walkthrough is very clear and easy to follow and the general storyline is good enough.
All in all i’d have to say that this level gets between a 6.5 and 6.3, but for now ill give it 6.5.
Well cracco, im only giving you most of the points here for the idea, but what i didn’t like about the level is that there was no real quest to it! It was more of an simple puzzle!
I think this is worth a download, but i really think you should spread out the level more, since most of the level focuses on the last part! the rest of it is simple! Im not saying it was easy, but there wasn’t really any quest in it. The level itself was pretty good, but i think id rather wait until you make a new version of this, one that really is a quest.
I really like this lvl, nice creative and original obstacles and unlike some tests I’ve seen (not that I’ve seen many) you can choose which test to do instead of the usual “first do this and then do this”. Some ppl here says that the lvl lacks eye candy but I don’t really care cause you don’t have time looking at them whilst yer doing a hard test.
Oh and talk about HARD!! Some of these tests are nearly impossible and I still haven’t completed some yet. The tests can really make you wanna just throw the monitor out of the window or drive over yer PC with a lorry. ;-) But once you’re completed an extra hard part of the test or the whole of it, you can literally feel the eh…feeling of success and shout out: “IN YOUR FACE EVERYBODY!!!”
My download recommendation varies cause ppl may have different kinds of opinions about the difficulty of this lvl so if you like HARD and BIG test lvls, download this NOW.
It took me a while to find this program but now I have! Its usefulness and ease of use with an detailed explanation of what is what is definetely for ppl who wants to make life easier. So if you’re tired of messing around in the registry, download this program now. It is MARVELLOUS. I LOVE YOU AIKO!!!!!!!! eats Aiko
EDIT: It’s 3 years later and I’ve decided to raise my rating from 9 to 10. Only now have I realized how good this is. :D[This review has been edited by White Rabbit]
Introduction to Rabbit Honor Guard:
I realy like the way Overlord made the story-telling levels. The story for this pack is in-cre-di-ble! It all fits together like nothing else.
Episode 1: Escape:
Castle levels:
Very good! The eyecandy is nice, altough not that much diferent from other castle levels. Enemy placement is terific, and it took me some time to finish it in hard mode without geting killed. The secret level is also well hidden, and the secret level itself is very fun, especialy that forg-falling:D.
Only i feel the 2nd level could`ve been a tiny bit longer.
Over all: 2.3/2.5
Carottus levels:
Exelent! Once again, good eyecandy and ammo, enemy and food placement! I like the secret easter level, especialy all the hidden powerups and stuff like that!
The hidden stuff with that giant carrot in the Tuff boss level is also very good! Again, great levels!
Over all: 2.4/2.5
Labrat levels:
Great! I`m a real fan of all that is Labrat, altough i dont realy like the oficial Labrat music used. Pity. I realy like the second levels start, with all the spike balls. And ofcourse the secret level! Its got e theme i dont remember abyone usedbefore! Nothing special to add from me.
Overall: 2.2/2.5
Holiday levels:
Very good! These weren`t in the origenal Jazz2 story line:-P. I realy like the canyonsb where Overlord used all those triger crates, making you run from one crate to another and back:-D!
The secret level is, once again, well hidden! The secret at itself is very small, and not that special, but stil sorta impresive!
Overall: 2.2/2.5
Episode 1: 2.4/2.5
Episode 2: Through the history:
Colony levels:
Very nice! Two 50 coin bonuses (i never did colect enough coins for them:-D). Unlike the oficial Colony levels, they have a good use and placement of fencers, who are some of the most anoying anamys, especialy in large groups. The second level is very hard, and makes terific use of all sorts of trigers! It took me a long time to finish it in hard mode!
Overall: 2.4/2.5
Psych levels:
Totaly funkyfresh! again, perfect enemy placement, and i like the smokerings in boxes:-). The second level is also sorta hard, a litle small maybe, but very hard, especialy in hard mode:-D.
Overall:2.1/2.5
Beach levels:
Very nifty levels here! I rEaLy like the tube-turtle sower in level one:-D!
Once again, a very well bult and hidden secret level! I like the triger crates that make the water level rise and drop(it are the crate that do that right?)
Overall: 2.4/2.5
Episode 2: 2.5/2.5
Episode 3: Undiscovered worlds:
Diamondus levels:
Very nice! The avalanche thing at the start of each level i very much a surpise to most players, exept those who look up before they leap:-D. The secret level here is almost not hidden at all, but at itself is very hard. Its one of the things i was`nt able to finish in this pack. I like that Overlord used the origenal Jazz1 Diamondus tune in level 1. Its much beter then the new one.
Overall: 2.3/2.5
Tubelectric levels:
Shocking. Nice eyes generater:-). The 2nd level again is very hard. Before you know it you`re back where you started. Again, it took me some time to finish in hard mode.
Overall:2.3/2.5
I almost forgot! The secret level! And its..Awesome! One of the most fun levels i ever played! The super0long shield idea rocks:-P.
Overall:2.5/2.5
Medivo levels:
Hehe…The only boss except Devan wich you cant get past without fighting him
:D. The levels are very good-looking. Realy good eyecandy, weapen placement and enemy placement. And the secret level… It does`nt exist8).
Overall:2.4/2.5
Episode 3: 2.4/2.5
Episode 4: Devan encounter:
Jungle levels:
Devan kicks in the afetr-burners! Playing these levels is very hard. Only, Overlord promised us no saveboxes. I found one in Deep jungle
:-D. But thats no pity. These levels are very well designed. It took me some time to finish them even in easy mode, and hard mode… I consider myself lucky i made it:-P.
Overall:2.5/2.5
Inferno levels:
Very good design. The first level is`nt that hard or long, but the 2nd, “Going down”…WoW! It rocks! Its hard as heck. Even more, it is heck:-). Beware everyone, the secret episode is hidden somewhere among the bones os the inferno… Evil laugh.
Overall:2.4/2.5
censored Hell levels:
Very good! I dont have to say much more then: Awesome! Hard as heck, and this 2 is heck:-). And ofcourse we have heren the final encounter with Devan. After Devans defeat all is well! But what about Devan lab, and the secret episode…?
Overall:2.5/2.5
Episode 4:2.5/2.5
Episode 5: Devesating grounds:
Plastic level:
You realy thought when you found the episode, you`d reach the lab right way, eh? Forget it! This level is very hard, and it took me time to finish it.
Overall: 2.4/2.5
X-COM apocolypse level:
The aliens are coming:). This level is aslo very hard. The enemy placement is very good, so is the..oh wait, there are no pickups:).
2.5/2.5
Space prison level:
Just as good as everything else. Nothing realy special (compared the the other levels of RHG that is:-P). Terific eyecandy!
Overall:2.5/2.5
Top secret level:(nice double expresion)
And here..it is..Devans secret lab! Here, you will have to fight your way through countless of enemys, and i died countless of times here 2. And after beating the lab itself, here he is again..Devan shell!
Overall:2.8/2.5:-)
Episode 5: 2.5/2.5
RHG tilesets:
Rabbit honor guard: 9.9/10.0
Introduction to Rabbit honor guard:the fortress:
Just as splendid as the one for the origenal RHG. I like the devan rocket:-).
Top secret ]|[ levels:
Awesome! Superb use of trigers, enemys, MCEs, SCEs, eveything! Overlord realy has the player runiong around the levels from one triger to another!
Overall:5.0/5.0
Space fortress levels:
Devans outer-space fortress. These levels are among the finest i ever saw.
The design is simply genius. The levels are so hard to play even in easy mode. I love it. The levels are also huge, i think maybe about 100 by 200 tiles! And ofcourse at the end is Devan. There is also a very secret level. Its mostly the same theme as the secret level in the tubelectric levels, but some fun efects have been added.
Overall:5.9/5.0:-D
Rabbit honor guard:the fortress: 9.9/10.0
Rabbit honor guard Tilesets:
Plastic tileset:
A simple, but cool tileset. It does`nt have that much posibilitys, but more then enough to make a decent level iwth, wich Overlord shows in the first level of the secret episode:-D.
Overall:7.3/7.5
X-COM tileset:
One of my favorite tilesets out there. Its got lots`a cool (self-drawn?) Alien pictures in it. Maybe Monolith is one of them:-). Its got 3 difirent backgrounds (sadly not good for texture), and good eyecandy posibilities.
Overall: 7.3/7.5
Space prison tileset:
Another one of my favorite tilesets. Its got well drawn Platforms and such, and ABSOLUTLY STUNING background posibilitys. I just love the planets and that sort`a stuff.
Overall:7.5/7.5
Top secret tileset:
This has for sometime been my favorite tileset(mainly until agama released Heaven:D). Its got lots`a fake stuff, wich is fun to fool realy new newbies with:).
Overall:7.4/7.5
Top secret ]|[ tileset:
The update of the above; i`ve got not that much to ad about this one. Its got the same space background as overlords Space prison, and some of the background planets. It also has the laser like thing from X-COM.
Overall:7.5/7.5
Space fortress tileset:
Awesome! One of the coolest tilesets ever! I`ve got nothing more to say actuely.:-D
RHG Tilesets overall: 10.O/10.0
Readme:
X-tremely high-tech! No one(i think) has ever made a readme like this! Awesome!
Overall:1.0/1.0
RHG launching program:
This sealed the deal for me. Only complaint is that it only works for TSF.
But seeing that i mainly use TSF, that realy was`nt suh a big problem.
Overall:1.0/1.0
Rabbit honor guard overall: 10.0/10.0

Whoa here too! This is one of the best single player packs I’ve ever seen. Good eyecandy, tilesets, puzzles, big levels but only a bit too hard. Too many places where you can get hurt.
Ambient sounds are GREAT!
A must-have for every jazzer!
Yes, that’s right Flash.
yeah Reblic i know hotel lvls arent good but its my first release come on! dont get steamed! ;-)
BTW ninjaUR aaah hotel hell is a good lvl but with enemies? COOL!
do u want me to add some too??! :-D.
yup it isnt finished yet
,white rabbit
also im happy u like the pool
with the water slide :-)
i think hotels are for entertaining too…
well youll have a public white room! soon i guess
well ive give my lvl 1.2 score coz im ashamed of myself putting a lvl in jazz2 online :-(
P.S. BUT I WONT QUIT
I have the same problem with Stiletto and White Rabbit. Where’s Aiko’s review by the way?
I understand, I saw the concept in Newspaz’ Tournament server. WR, it works like this (I think):
One person will host. Everyone will get a room. First, every single person will go in a room. The host closes the full rooms. Then, he opens the bottom of the first 2 rooms. If somebosy of the 2 that enter the battle arena kills someone, he can go into a warp or tunnel and enter a new room. The one whos killed can leave the tournament. That goes on until only one person stays alive. Right?
The level itself is not, I didn’t see much CC levels as good as this one. I think this can get a 6.0[This review has been edited by Fl@$h aka BlewMeUp]
Example level: 0.0/5.0
You really should make an example level, or let your beta testers or someone else do it. That way you’ll deserve higher.
Pretty neat! I like how you used the signs with all different words on ‘em. How do you convert them to Jazz 2 format anyway? I tried with the… umm… what was it called… umm… oh yeah, Marbler and I tried with Industria, but the color pallete wasn’t right and nothing was the right color including the background…
What the heck…
I’m trying to make a level with it for a level pack I’m putting together (I’m calling it !!BACK in TIME!! cuz it has all the Jazz 1 tilesets I’ve got) and the background of some of the tiles look funny… see for yourself!
What can I say? I’m quite impressed wimpster. :-) The tileset literally rocks and you’ve used it very well. Althought the whole lvl doesn’t seem to be a proper battle area, it’s still quite fun and you really have to jump a lot to get to places. It’s got very nice eye candy and the background is beautiful.
Now, this is a BIG lvl and I don’t like BIG lvls but because of the esy navigation and well placed platforms, it won’t take time until ya find yer enemies. The really bad part of this is that the weapons placement is quite scattered and it will take a long time until you find any useful weapon at all and even longer until you get 50x of it.
Because of the weapons placement, ppl who is unfamiliar with the lvl will fight mostly with the good old fashioned blaster and there are no power ups and fast fires either.
Although it isn’t much for a battle lvl, it can be quite fun exploring the lvl, shooting doors, and swimming.
The reason that I give this an pretty high rating of 8.5 is because of the great eye candy and easy navigation. Next time wimpster, add some powerups and more ammo huh?
I strongly recommend downloading this.[This review has been edited by White Rabbit]
Very Nice
Electric Ir could u send me that one?
stiletto@jazz2online.com!
YAWN I’m too tired of writing a more detailed review so let’s just make everything short and easy: Great lvls, plenty of eye candy, easy to navigate, good use of tileset and good weapons placement. It’s just that the lvls are quite BIG but I’ve got no further compaints.
