Jazz Jackrabbit 2 Online

I like small (2-4 player) levels and this one reminds me of some of my own.

I dont know if I have seen the first version (i dont recall seeing it that is :)), but ill just review for this one alone.

Good eyecandy, ok weapon placement and interesting gameplay (with 2 player, havent tested it with more).

Ctf version is like the others say not too different from the battle version.

A download recommendation from me.

All of the above non-saying people. Take it to jcf or something, dont start an arguement or a discussion here.

I will delete this review as soon as everyone here stops this blabla above. I recommend Stunts, Ipdope, Nitro and F!re do the same.

The goody-goody part:

I defnitley am impressed with these tilesets. Nice textures, given a 3D look by impressive shading. There are lots of features and different areas to the tilesets too. Also some nice layered features on the background makes it look extra nice :)

The icky-wicky part:

Some graphics are taken from somewhere else, and it is very obvious. Anti-aliasing on that dodge made it look extremely bad. The least you could do was fix that. I know to do so is oen of the most painful experiences on planet earth. I know ALL about fixing the censored anti-aliasing (ask stripe about that). The textured background doesn’t work (I assume that because it wasn’t textured in the example levels), but in some sets nice layering can hide that.

Some personal comments:

The fact that some of you wanted to rate the example levels as part of the pack DISGUSTED me! I actually found it offensive. This has been uploaded as a TILESET and example levels shouldn’t change the rating at all. The only way it would change the rating is if there was no example level included. Seriously, there might be some people who are very talented at drawing tilesets and less talented at making levels, and that doesn’t make them deserve a low rating for spending so much time drawing something!

Please, if you are a tileset maker that can’t make the best of levels, do NOT hesitate to ask me to make one for you. I would be more than glad to help out. No credit even needs to go to me, it still would be your tileset.

Hmmm, maybe I went a little harsh on my comments, but I think you get the general idea.

One little note: I dont think using the water event causes any trouble in coop, I mean some of the real jazz jackrabbit 2 levels use the water event and do you have any trouble there? nope.

So why shouldnt you play it in coop if there is a water event???

Anyways ive just reuploaded the pack because MLlab had a Eyecandy/TileBug and didn’t had any carrots

And at the End of the summor vacantion the FINAL Release with 10 levels will be ready..

Cool! I really like the idea of using the neat “Jazz1: Technoir” tileset conversion by Newspaz (about 200 tiles).

The design of the level is very good (pretty classic SP style) and there is a fair amount of good looking eyecandy. The water isn’t a problem at all (its not like the level is completely flooded or something :-). Enemy and savepoint placement is good and the level is quite long actually.
And of course, the original Jazz 1 music fits perfect.

Conclusion: “Techno Land” gives you about ten minutes of great single player fun and a very good impression of whats possible with Jazz1 tilesets!

I don’t feel like theres a need to completely write a new review for the current version of Shad’s “The Future Evolution” so here goes my my edited review from the previous version:

Wow!!! With this CTF level pack, ShadowGPW proves it again: he is one of the best level designers of all times. “The Future Evolution” includes five absolutely stunning CTF maps using Tube Electric, Labrat, MEZ’s third set (Version 03b, i wonder why he included 03a also) and two of DethMan’s awesome CyberSpaz tilesets. No doubt, this is one of the best CTF packs i’ve ever seen. Amazing!

The design and layout of the levels in unbelievable and so is the eyecandy. Spaceships, insane tube constructions, you’ll get everything here! I’m lacking words too describe it.

Not to forget the music: very fresh, very rocking tunes using the classic tracking style. Great choice, great! Sorath’s two tunes leave me completely breathless, as well as the song by W3Z and Skaven’s rocking “Return Of The Cats”. Only the “Episode” (kill.mod) didn’t fit perfectly (no biggie though).

Well, anyways…Shadow, i bow down to you! You truly deserve a 9 for this AWESOME pack! (9!!! Still makes me dizzy :-).

To sum it up, if you don’t download this, you don’t want to download anything else because you can’t be a Jazz player in that case. Things like this make people like me thinking about converting to CTF fans ;-) DOWNLOAD NOW!!!

AHa It was about time for some excellent stuff on j2o and these levels are a good example of that.

Im not really into ctf but as far as i have testeed it (against my brother) the levels were great exept for a few text bugs.

The eyecandy is good, weapon placement is good and gameplay is excellent.

This level gets a MUST DOWNLOAD recommendation from me.

This level hasn’t got Music or you didnt include the file already -1 point for that.
The level is a little small.
not som many directions.
bad weapondeplacement.
some unfinished walls.
I like the gates that open.

Whoah You’ve done a censored good job.
I think these levels are the best ctf-levels I’ve ever seen. I especially like mlclaustro. Some nice eyecandy and the weapondeployment is ok aswell.You walk very fast and smoothly through these levels which I think is very important with ctf. It also includes some humor which I personally like.These musicfiles and tilsets are great they were an exellent choice.Man You’ll get a 9 from me man.Keep up the great work.[This review has been edited by F!re]
