Hey NewSpaz, AWFUL LEVEL! ABSOLUTE CRUD! I’M GONNA GIVE THIS A 1!
heh, but in truth, this isn’t bad. It’s below average, yes. But that won’t stop me from saying “Good Job for a first” mine was a lot worse…
This review is pretty short and dull but I can’t recommend a d/l.
Yup, I too am a hotel disliker. but I can admit that this level was at least tolerable. It has below average use of the otherwise good tileset. Has a warp-oriented style of navigation and strange stuff. The eye candy/layout overall could be improved. And I have to agree with Buster here, what’s the point of hotels in JJ2 really? they’re quite boring and IMO not really worth much…
barely 4 points and no real d/l recommendation from me.
This is pretty much an average level using a pretty interesting idea (though it wasn’t portrayed well.) has a typical hotel-style design (warp oriented design leads to trouble, you should know.) I don’t see the point of putting a hotel in an otherwise good idea like this.
Overall it’s BARELY average (was undecided between 4.5 and 5 points here.)
Now I’ve never been a big fan of Nintendo (never will be), but this isn’t a bad tileset (AGAIN I make a foremost complaint: Um, if you don’t have 1.23, why is the JJ2 version 1.23 on the level info? Fill in your version CORRECTLY please), includes lots of tiles from the Zelda games. Has a nice theme and a sort of weird example level. Might I also comment there are enough tiles for you to make a good level with some effort.
Download away. I was pretty undecided between 6.5 and 7 points.
My first and most stood out opening words: fill in the info correctly. This level is for 1.24, not 1.23. and it doesn’t use the Beach tileset. Thank you.
Getting onto the level itself, it’s.. well, not great. Has a very hotel-like design and weirdly placed events. I found my time in this level to be a very confusing experience. Try to give the people a hint about where they’re going and don’t try to rely on warps as a way to get around your level. You can also try to improve the eye candy, this whole level had a very boring look.
All in all I can’t recommend a d/l.
(BTW: annoying bug, wrong next level setting. And no music.)
First and foremost of all, you should NEVER include standard music files. Everyone already as them (as ST mentioned.) and they just tend to waste disk space.
Second of all, I like this level’s background. And it has a nice backgound. Did I mention the background was good? At any rate, there isn’t much extremely pretty besides the background… the events in this level were pretty weirdly placed together. This also has a tacky layout and below the average eye candy. The readme has a request for information about how to make “hollow places” (if you have questions like this, direct them to the JCS forum of the JMMB, please.). Also, this level has some strange ideas…
Wooteedoo, not much of a reason to download this, unless you obsess over good backgrounds.
Hmm, well, I didn’t review this the first time so I’ll do so now..
all in all this pack is pretty awesome. Has some great battle levels, superb tilesets with amazing music choices. It was a good idea to use WORKING textured bgs in all of your tilesets, as they add a super-cool effect. The levels are pretty good too. In of themselves their only downfall is that they get really boring after you’ve played them considering they all have the same style of layout and design.
Overall this is GREAT and I recommend EVERYONE get this now.
Well, I can’t say i don’t like it,
it’s after all a lvl of my own clan,
i shouldnt say that but ok ill do it anyway, yeah, i like it, except that there not much “eyecandy” (what’s that word all about anyway?) and it looks a little like a hotel (in fact, it is)
and since FD died…. well i don’t think you know what i mean by that but i’m not in the mood to say that i’ll just say: Good job, Perfect
An above average level I guess.
Has some decent eye candy along with a good layout. Doesn’t have half bad event placement and is overall well… above average. Has a few eye candy flaws that could easily be fixed, but that won’t drop the rating too low.
Overall a 5.5 from me.
(btw, as Aiko noted, please don’t include standard music and tilesets in your levels. It only waste’s diskspace)
Nothing much to add to Aiko’s review. Has a good layout and okay eye candy (could stand a few workovers.) Weapon placement could have been easily improved. The platformish design could make for a fun battle though.
I agree, the music isn’t a great choice.
Overall, sure, download this.
My first though when i played it "Man, Newspaz isnt serious about this piece’o‘cr… level". Then i read your description above :-)
Well, to put it short:
bad tile placement and bad event placement in many places, wrong tileset chosen (Carrottus!) and way too short and easy. Music is missing. Clearly below the average of nowadays.
Err…do you allow me to rate the level (not just blahblah about it :-)? Okie, here we go: some guys here already noticed it’s a so-called "Hotel" and most people don’t like this kind of level (including me).
It makes use of the "CLC" tileset by some unknown artist (who seems to be a member of the "Cracco Clan" at least), which is quite good actually.
The level is pretty large and has loads of rooms and stuff like that. The design and eyecandy is interesting in some places, but then suddenly loses quality in other areas (bad tile placement for example).
Honestly…personally i don’t like this kind of levels at all, but it seems like the author put some work into it. And i award any kind of effort (4 points here).
Still no download recommendation from me, though :-)
Hehe, interesting idea (to simulate a Personal Computer in a Jazz2 level :-).
It uses the funky (and small) "SUPAPLEX" tileset by GreenKiller but unfortunately the level itself is pretty hotel-like (rooms etc.) and neither design (boring/wrong tile placement) nor eyecandy (not enough) will make me rate it higher :-)
Despite i like the overall idea, "The MB computer" doesn’t get above average.
Download or not? Decide yourself i’d say. (Well, if you always wanted to know how your ‘puter works inside…)
Holy cow, “zeldagb” is a huge tileset. It includes hundreds of 32×32 tiled pictures from the original Zelda games (but i have to admit i never owned Zelda and/or any kind of console…admit? No, actually i’m proud of it ;-). The masking is good, and it even includes some backgrounds. Sure, the graphics itself look a bit “pixelized” but thats not the authors fault, as far as i know. Blame it on those Japanese freaks back in…199X or so.
To my pleasure, the author also included an example level which is quite cool and seems to show us original levels from the original game (Who knows…could you write a readme next time?). The level is not really superb regarding design and eyecandy, but somehow i like the whole idea behind this.
So WHY NOT DOWNLOAD this nice little pack? Esspecially Nintendo addicts will like this a lot. (Very low seven points)
Fixed. Thanks for the tip
oke i have addet the tileset top
I have chanched the level
Only the tileset is not mine from this level
How can i make it for 1.23 to i have designed it in 1.24 because i dont had 1.23
Just listen to what Aiko said up there. Add the file Top.j2t to your zip and it should be fine.

Great shots, what’s going on here? This is the THIRD level I’ve downloaded tonight that is NOT compatible with 1.23, despite the information above. Could we watch that a little closer or something people?
