A tiny set, with no example level. I must admit, I did like the overall look though. :-)
Still no four stars, NewSpaz ;-)
He just changed the colors a bit, everything is a bit darker than in the "normal" version of "Battery Check".
My thoughts about everything else are in the Review of "Battery Check" (submitted on August 21st 2000).
P.S.: There is still no example level…
First off, this level lost A LOT of points (3.5) for the extremely monotonous and rather boring eyecandy. However, this level is very cool because of the water trick.(I remember screwing race 2 up with it when I was a newbie ;)
I guess you could say this level is original, because of the water. Everything else in it is good.
The level should be just as playable as any normal sized level with water, for everyone’s information.
The eye candy is not so much ‘poor’ as ‘monotonous’ and consists almost entirely of the horizontal and diagonal metal pipes of Mez03. This makes for a decent feel of ‘setting’, but it is still a rather dull one that takes a bit of imagination to associate it with the Titanic.
The feature about this level that makes it worth playing is that it uses the underwater trick where you move slowly and don’t swim. Since chances are you’ve never heard of this and definitely never fought in it, it makes for a very unique and interesting experience. Otherwise, the weapon/carrot assortment is good, and there are semi-hidden passages all through the tubes which add a bit of spice.
*just a note to be fair to everyone: an industrius researcher should be able to find the trick explained on the JMMB
what can you say?
this level was supposed to be a water level trick test, but stripe insisted i finish it =)
the titanic 2.04 soon to come out.
After looking into the level with JCS.. It looked a lot different as looking in JJ2.. pretty strange.. :)
Same as Aiko, Good music. poor eye candy.
well, i got some comments…here we go…
1.) YAY!!! This level uses Purple Motion’s famous "Fishtro" tune as background music!!! 10 points for the music! Great choice!
2.) Two extra points for creativity (the water trick is kinda cool!)
3.) Framerate alert! actually "The Titanic" isnt playable
4.) If i saw everything in the level, the layout and eyecandy is very poor
5.) The readme file sucks, really
6.) I recommend to include the MEZ tileset in the ZIP
P.S.: Its 6.6 points. The level isnt very playable.
6.6 points for VeggieMan’s Battle Pack. (I’ll give out 7 points ‘cause the sun is shinin’ here today…)
Four levels with good layout, okay eyecandy and a nice background music selection (Future Crew, Mario chip tune etc.).
I found nothing special, though (the idea of making a Pyramid isnt new). However, every battle freak should add the pack to his/her collection. Really. I mean…why not?
There. But fixed. This will never happen again. :P
Now i see the bug. It still has to do something with slashes..
well, i am the author, so i guess i cant rate it, but i WOULD rate it 8.5
i hope you guys all like this level, a LOT of work has been put into it.
please download and review it as soon as it isnt not possible =)
this level uses a little known trick with jcs… dont even think about getting in to it, it is passworded and wakeman is under hard instruction not to use his de-passworder =)
An even better version of this great tileset. Lots of dinos, helicopters, computers, stones, palms etc..
And finally theres a nice example level thats shows how cool the tileset looks in the game :-)
I still recommend downloading this!
The best level pack I ever played.
Wow, what great levels. :)
I’ve been joining HUTCH when it’s empty just to practice in them, they’re so fun. :)
My to my knowledge 7.5 is closer then 7.0. oh well. :)
Onag here. Actually, there is a sample level. Pezrock Arena. I always include sample levels with my tilesets. I think FoD is going to re-upload the tilesets along with the sample levels…
I’m searching for the time to convert more Jazz 1 tilesets. It’s very time consuming (about 20 hours goes into each one). I’ll see what I can do.
Well, i dont know the "Funny Furries" but it sounds cool and so is the level.
The design is good, the tileset looks pretty cool and the music selection is excellent.
I recommend to download this and to host a quality battle server (yay)! (7.4 points!)
I really like "LW, the battle 2" because everything in it is selfmade. The level, the tileset
and even the "sampled drum" music. Well the sound is not really brilliant, but it fits pretty good for the tileset and level.
Besides, design and eyecandy in the level are very good. To sum it up: you should download this pack! Very good work, Ninja Dodo.
Actually, it did come with one.. when Cheeze fixs the re-uploader, I’ll re-upload it with the level included.
Well, this is small battleground using the Thermal Carrotus tileset. Design and eyecandy arent that
brilliant in my opinion and you know that im a harsh rater (i just wanna give fair ratings so i gotta be harsh, sorry).
On a brighter note, the background music selection is pretty good: its a neat tune by well-known Skaven^FC.
