It is not bad hotel. But too much used “B” and it uses a bit crappy tileset.
PS:Martin Mysak rate every bad level by 8 or 9 …
Oh another sweet tile set who learns us once again how to declaim… wait who’s Iron Maiden? Whatever.
Tile set Choice
Very good, original, many tiles added and it can construct a lot of interesting and deep design.
Eye candy
Once again the level shows up how to use all the layers in a correct and democratic mode, whatever that means. The blocks arrangement is annoying, you know, hitting a block right before you jumped from another, but it doesn’t matter because this level is cool. Like the background.
Game play / Ammo Placement
As I said the level uses in a way too many similar blocks (w8 there’s only one in the tile set), warp positions almost strange (you added a wind before one of them or something?), and all you have to do is to jump… jump, jump, jump and don’t fall because you’ll have to jump again. Some USEFUL ammo, but in a way you put too much events and it’s easy to get god mode (delay?). Well, the carrot story is old and boring…

Cool. starts being sarcastic
Overall
Sorry I still need to get a reason for giving a full review on this.
it seems to be nice level but i dont understand the top area
Mostly this level is based on luck, as Snooze said taking the full carrot is very risky, especially because you may fall into the pit or be killed with ammo9 right before you think you would get 3h again. However the originality increases my personal rate, Employee of the Month succeeding very fast and becoming a ‘must-play’ level for every CTF player who respects himself.
EvilMike: I was actually making a reefer to some tips like camping the tubes, taking the flying carrot right after the game started, camping on the warp target up the full carrot, getting the power-ups with Spaz special move (you never know if you get hit by seeks) etc. I agree on the carrot part, but many people use the warp after taking it, and as I said they might get shot again because there are some serious camp places in this level.
‘‘or if you’re skilled enough to shoot down the full nrg and catch it when it’s falling (this is the quickest way to get it).’‘
No it’s not true. I actually tried sometime to do that, and it’s practically impossible to take it ‘‘when it’s falling’‘, maybe you meant when it gets down? Yeah, but you never know when the enemy comes with the bouncer prepared. Anyway I had the pleasure to participate to the ODT Event, and saw how lag affects so much the game here.
I find the carrot too risky, and navigating isnt that easy. also, lag has annoyingly high amount of influence in this level.
EDIT: rating raised to 8.52, but i would personally veto this if its chosen. no offense to mike and etc but i dislike the full nrg concept.
I’ll write a proper review if/when I get a chance to play this online, since it’s hard to judge the gameplay of a level by playing it offline. But just for now, I want to say that this level really isn’t as spaz-biased as jgke and millocz seem to think. Jazz and lori can get to all the same spots. This includes the (somewhat weird) top left corner area. Overall this actually looks pretty balanced. Probably deserves higher than 7.0.
You are expert.
How could you know people on j2o likes chocolate-marzipan, puffed rice-chocolate, etc. ?
It is not bad idea, but it much much sucks :-/
Dont worry, i made some screenshots for this lvl ;)
Level EF i will rate with 1.0, there should be lower value, 0.5 or etc.
Level has no layer 4, and there is not pit.So IDK!
SEC level is not so bad. Should be used as buggy battle level, after some fixes…i will rate 3.0
Final rating: 2,0. Bye
it is not so bad ;)
but you had to upgrade eyecandy stuff !
Yeah, i dont know how can jazz or lori get to that high cliffs.
But it is nice level, if i would be able to host, i would host it :)
No.
We cant use this ,Narsist, in sp levels…
Agreed with Evilmike.
Too spaz biased.
Yes, gameplay and music is good, but there are some tile bugs. Creative? Maybe, but it has some bad things. Bubba is going down..
Good work !! =D!! But it would be more better if you get better musics =)!
As someone who makes single player levels, I have to say that I can’t think of any reason why I’d use this. The game already has a working game over screen.
I’m giving this a 3 (perhaps too generously) because the level can at least be used as a one-screen battle level, and it more or less works. But even then, more effort could have been made, since there’s no ammo or anything else to speak of.
Cool idea !
Usefull in new singleplayer episodes.
Erm and where’s the End Area or I’m just not getting the point? Oo
Oh god.
First, no story included in the rating…

Music:
I listened to it seperately from the level and it definately fits. However, several parts of the song tends to get annoying VERY QUICKLY so no full points here… not as much lower as a ten as you might expect now, but I think there are people around here who like the parts I found to be especially annoying.
9.5/10
Eyecandy:
Well, it was a non-traditional approach of tileset usage, but I liked it. Almost no flaws in the eyecandy, alltough the mushrooms didn’t have a floor beneath them (but considering that would look even uglier, and there isn’t a better way to do it than this, I won’t rate down on this.
However, sometimes I found tile placement looking ugly and because those cats were both used in background and in the traditional way…
9/10
Gameplay:
Level layout:
Well, make sure you can recognize deathpits, otherwise quite a few players resort to JJFly and will not touch the ground again.
A few secret pathways and a few other secrets… but nothing special. Only one checkpoint in a level with quite a few deathpits is annoying though.
And many, many times, there was a masking error which made the level less fluid. Probably a tileset-problem but still. It was annoying and unnecessary.
Everything else was (very) well done though…
8,75/10
Enemy placement:
Annoying, but most enemies were well placed and fitted well with the tileset… alltough I should replace the Christmas enemies with their normal versions.
9,5/10
Pickup placement:
Nearly without flaws. A double coin warp is hardly ever used in levels, but huge levels like this one can use it… I like it.
9,5/10
Replay value: Well, it is a difficult level. The lack of a story cuts ALWAYS down here, but the lack of secrets does as well. Also, annoying contraptions with a deathpit below don’t really help as well for me. However, the level has several unique things in the eyecandy.
8,5/10
54.75/60
Penalties:
Avoidable tilebugs: -0,4
8,7/10
DR: Yes. If you aren’t a good player, just use cheats. This level is harder than EvilMike’s levels in several occasions, alltough probably not as good in terms of quality and replay value. But it is worth a playthrough, at least!
Edit: Listened to the music.
Agreeing with the rest ;S., I said bullsh*t before, because that secret warp area doesn’t really work for me..
This should be battle or something, but it is not single player. And nice, 2 screenshots!, I see the same stuff, so that is not good too.
I still rate N/A, do what you like!
