This level is a bit underrated so far in my opinion. I like the layout; it’s different than a lot of other levels we see nowadays. The eye candy could be better but with this levelname it’s good enough. I suppose this plays well in Team Battle as well. I can only hope your next levels for XLM will be of the same (or even higher) quality.

So this is best jj2 program in saving chat stats.Better than jj2chatlogg :O. So let’s what can do this program. I open http: Then i write something with those letters then i copy them to chatlogg. After all i open jj2,go to a server and talk! Other functions: You can copy some important words from Chatlogg to sallog. Such at a exaple: I copy from chatlogg (in some situations) when a player tricked a player and i must search his. I forgot him and i must tell to NC’s Boss (example) I need sallog for total copying. Is really great program. No text.10.0 Recommended!

First of all, welcome to XLM! Nice level, but some things could be better. At 59,55 I bump into the wall after jumping from the spring. The red spring at 7,23 should be green. If I use Jazz, I first have to step on the left side and then jump onto the right platform if I want to get anywhere. I wouldn’t mind having some gun9 ammo for easier shooting towards the carrot area. It would also be cool to see a copter around 53,35. The ammo placement is well balanced, I can pretty much get any ammo nearby, no matter where I am. The eyecandy gives a good jungle feeling too.

Umm, a new battle level. :)

Tileset
I liked your choice. Good and creepy tileset. :D And using is good too.

Music
Castle Remix? Cool! 8) I will use it! And tileset and music complied with each other.

Level design
Level not too long, but umm, not too short. Good and creative.

Pickups
Good pickups but I saw some images. (like Cross) I think, especially, battle levels should be universal. But doesn’t matter :)

Powerups
Just 3 powerups? But?

Effects
Storm theme is good, I liked lightining but I didn’t like thunderbolt and rain.

Anyway, I like it and I’m waiting new battle levels :)

DR? Yes.

I was able to get it work so here is a review. I“ll go over each level as it’s pretty short. First story

Story
I really don’t know what’s going on. If your going to make a story in a notepad or something, don’t use word not everyone has it. I had no clue what was going on in game so I can’t give any points for story. I’m not even sure if there is suppoed to be one.
1/10

Level 1
Eyecandey
As with almost all the levels in the pack, the author tries to use the JJ1 tilesets that come with JCS. As such they suffer form animation loss and bad masking. Level one is bland. With no animations the level kinda feels dead. Ground is boring and tilebugs can be seen. Almost no layer 3 was used and background was boring, but that’s the tilesets fault. Thing is, at least use one of the many conversions on this website. I’ll give a 2.
2/10

Gameplay
Gameplay is short and boring. No chance of dieing at all. Linear and boring. No puzzle elements are involved and it’s basically running in one direction and going up at times. The blaster powerup and many fast fires take away any difficulty. Level is short as well at only about 2 minutes. There’s a tuff boss at the end but the powerup makes him a joke. You can destroy the wall and go outside the arena but it’s uneeded and I didn’t find a way back up once I fell. There were some coins but they didn’t make me want to come back to find them. There were some text strings but I thought they were out of place. Overall, boring, short and no chance of dieing.
1/10

Enemy Placement
Not many and no chance of dieing. Not much else to say,
1/10

Pickup Placement
There’s quite a bit of food here and in one case to many bananas. Normal ammo was ok but the fastfires and blaster power up killed any chance of this getting more then a 1.
1/10
Level 1 score: 5/40

Level 2
*Eyecandey*Almost the same deal as level 1. However the background was at least somewhat interesting. It’s basically just moving slime but at least it’s something. The green outline makes a bigger deal here and it makes the level look kinda stupid at times. Vines didn’t turn out. Music heart my ears
2/10

Gameplay
Very short again. Not much of a challenge. However, there are many pits where if you fall, there’s no way up so you have to wait until your rabbit dies from the spikes below. Not enough enemies, all you do is basically go up. Vines didn’t turn out. To many powerups. No replay. About it
1/10

Enemy Placement
Not enough. about it
1/10

Pickup Placement
To many powerups in the open. I guess food and ammo is ok but still. No need for something like 3 powerups.
1/10

Overall score: 5/40

Level 3:
Not worth rating. All you do is run right and fall

Level 4
Eyecandey
ummmm wow. This is a wierd tileset. All this is, is random colors and stuff put together. I have no clue what was going on. Tilebugs everywhere. Random nature and just umm. U have no clue what to say
1/10

Gameplay
Pretty boring. Linear, short, not going to die as long as your awake, short, to much food and ammo.. I“m running out of things to say. There was something about a gold coin but I just wanted to finish this and write the review
1/10

Enemy Placement
Not enough except at the final part, but that’s ok. You get like 2 sugar rushes.

Pickup Placement
Was ok at the begining, then you put like 200 food items and tons of gems. I got 2 sugars rushes at once. Also to much ammo which isn’t needed.
1/10

Overall score: 4/40

The ending was just end spelled with like 200 1ups. No point and didn’t wrap up the story or pack.

Final Score: 15/130
Score:1.2
Rank: F
DR? No. I’m sorry but I got no enjoyment out of this. Boring gameplay, easy levels, bad placement and the use of horrible tilesets. It’s safe to say this wasn’t beta tested and it should have been. I just wanted to finish this and write a reveiw for it. I can’t give it a DR at all, but keep trying. Hopfully this review will help show you what you did wrong and I hope you improve upon your mistakes. As it stands I give a 1.2 and no DR.

I wish this was good, but it’s just really not. I think the main problem that we’re running into here is that it’s pretty much an exact, tile for tile conversion from JJ1. Now, of course, this was the intention of the pack. But it’s also the downfall of the pack. The events are really the main problem here. All of the ammo events that you shoot in JJ1 got turned into ammo crates, and while this is all well and find, it’s a major pain in the ass because first of all, you can only hold up to 99 ammo (obviously), and second of all, you can’t run through the crates, so you have no choice but to shoot those things. Oh, and I got stuck between a crate and a wall in the secret level as the bird.. That was annoying.

Main things that bug me, well I mentioned the ammo thing, there’s way too much food, we could’ve done with less, and what’s up with including turrets and forcefields in Tubelectric but not making them do anything? Let’s be original here! Play around with some MCE events and make those turrets shoot electroblasters at you or something. The events just kind of ruin everything. It wouldn’t have hurt to stray away from the exact original pickups and enemies locations to atleast make it more challenging and fun in JJ2.

Anyway, this pack does what it promises. It provides a picture perfect conversion of the original JJ1 levels. But honestly, that’s not necessarily a good thing, because it’s just not fun.

I wanna see a Turtle Terror remake. Not a conversion, but a remake.

Okay, so here we have yet another impressive tileset “conversion” by Violet. When I saw that Violet chose Raneforus, I really wasn’t too excited. Those were some of the most unattractive, and frustrating levels in all of JJ1. Like, I hated Raneforus, I used to cheat to skip those levels.

Anyway, so I’m not too excited at all, but Violet never fails to impress, as he came up with the clever idea to include a past, present, and future tense to the tileset. This gives way for a lot more possibilities and all in all makes this worth downloading.

The present tense gives us the basics. Nothing too notable here. In fact, there isn’t even any solid ground. All there is is platforms, which sucks, but then again, that’s all Raneforus had. Platforms and trees. I got over the present tense tileset real fast.

Okay, so the past tense. Now this is cool. In the past tense, we sacrifice some pretty useless looking tiles for stone and gravel taken and edited from Jungrock and Stonar, plus we get some new background to play with. Overall, it’s really awesome. You can make a really ancient looking jungle level with this. The palette is all switched around, and some old school tiles are included to just make this really have a great atmosphere. Cool.

So, now the future tense, well it’s a great idea and all, and Violet pulls it off pretty well, but it’s just not that pleasing to look at. Everything just seems to totally clash. It’s a good idea, but I just couldn’t see myself using the tileset ever. And like I said before about the present tense, there’s no solid ground… There are just platforms. The past tense had solid ground from Stonar and Jungrock which was nice.

So the final verdict,
I’m not very impressed by the Present and Future versions of the tileset, but the Past tense is solid as hell and offers a lot of possibilities for some really cool levels.

Download definitely recommended, just don’t get too excited for Present or Future.

There’s nothing wrong with his computer. You need to include the tilesets (.j2t files) that are used in your levels. I’d also remove the episode file or at least make it optional for the player to use it. Episode files clutter up the level list and are not really necessary. Even EvilMike’s level packs don’t use .j2e’s.
