I find this lvl great.Napo you did good job ;)..I tested it as a first player(except Napoleon). And it’s fine play in this lvl.

Recommended wadledee rated 6.7

obviously Man is a friend of Napoleon..

The eyecandy is great, but often very confusing..

The balance of the level is not good, the RF pu is closer to Blu and easy to camp-guard, and the carrots are bad placed. They have to fight for it, not get it for free in their base!

imo there is a bit too much ammo, but still, the lvl is fun to play!

Recommended cooldude31 rated 9.0

nice

I fell in love with bases. This is the strongest side of napos level. Oh and eyeceandy is great. GJ Napo ;D

Finally, a good level!

EYECANDY
Using this tileset often can be tricky. However, you actually succeeded in making a good looking level! Everything’s there. Ofcourse, there are missing pieces or bugs. Your mistake was either to use layer 5 for something different than backup from layer 4, or you should have changed the animation on some spots. Some layer 3 bugs also.

ENEMIES
The typical enemies can be found in this level. Quite logical.. Their placement is good, but sometimes just not enough enemies.. But, this level wasn’t entirely about enemies! ~Check gameplay. Still, it makes the level just a bit too easy..

PICKUPS
I was amazed that this whole level didn’t contain a single piece of ammo. I was also amazed that I didn’t care. The level was more about the gameplay. TBH there weren’t any (or <1) pickups except for the 100 coins you had to collect.

GAMEPLAY
I love it! This is from 2004? You should have released it earlier =P
Nice puzzles, not too many holdups, though there might have been a little bit too much from those stomp blocks. Secret routes, suckertubes, springs, more puzzles. This level is very fun to play!

OVERALL
It’s awesome to see you even spend time to convert the level from english to dutch, just for those people who haven’t it yet! However, the things you write on J2o should be english.. Is ‘Missies’ the real name for the pack you planned, because else you should have called it Missions, no ? ;-) But this wont cost you a nice rating, no!

eyecandy: nice!
enemies: typical, and just a bit too less of em. Makes it too easy.
pickups: poor, but its not about pickups here.
gameplay: great!

Can’t help it to give this a download recommendation and a nice rating.

i find this pack over rated…. d only 2 maps which i liked were semi (ofc) and happy castle…. desert is not bad…. but lacks some great deal of ec. the others were…… :S well for me disasterous….

so:
Hell – 3 – Such a bad ec
Castle – 7
Canyon – 4.5 – i rly wonder how this is popular
Jungle – 3 – ec is …. WAAA and also i dont like d map
Semiconductor – 9 – well no wonder its one of d most popular lvls. (@ bs7… nah impartiality isnt that important in ctf lvls… d game flow is by far better… in a war there is always impartiality between nations as well :D)
Desert – 6.5

Average = 5.5

Can’t think of an introduction so lets get right to the review:

Starting off with the eyecandy, and I found it quite interesting. There is a mixture of blocks and normal carrotus tiles throughout, which was quite creative, but on the other hand, looks quite buggy (in my opinion), especially where insane amounts of blocks are used. It’s not a pretty level, but that doesn’t mean it’s not interesting to look at. There are some jungle tiles used as well in parts of the level, which looked iweirdly good, and I think could have covered more of the level. (I’m never good at reviewing when it comes to eyecandy). Other than that, layers were used well, although there could have been a bit more background eyecandy. There aren’t too many noticable bugs and the auther made good use of the tileset. Overall, I quite liked the eyecandy, apart from the overuseage of blocks.

Now on to the gameplay. The whole level consists of puzzles. There are no enemies (apart from one or two clusters), and not many items. Firstly, the good things: I like the concept of having to be careful with ammo in order to progress, and you have to have certain weapons to pass places. Unfortunately, there were a couple of bugs with this. For example, if you were stupid like me, and got to the second warp challenge with no toaster ammo, and couldn’t unfreeze the spring, there was no way of warping back, so I had to cheat. Secondly, there were too many warp challenges, which were quite fustraiting to get past, and thirdly, too many of the challenges were slow paced, especially the part where you have to get stuck, and then sink to the bottom. In turn, the level didn’t flow very nicely.

Other problems are that the level is too linear, the boss was too easy cause of all the powerups, there could have been more enemies and items and the level was too short. So overall, the gameplay isn’t great, despite some nice concepts.

Music was standard carrotus, and I didn’t see the point of the filing system. Good effort, but it made things a bit too complicated I thought.

FINAL RATING: 6.0
DOWNLOAD?: Not sure. There are some good concepts in this level, but I think it still needs to be worked on, and made longer in order to be more fun.

I can. And i saw lots of regenerating things such as PU’s coins and others!

*STORY*(EDIT 1: Missed this one)
No story in this pack…Always include a story to make it more interesting.
Pros:N/A
Cons:No story N/a

EYECANDY… This is a good level that combines jungle with other tilesets. Some tilebugs were found but not too much.
Pros:not to many tilebugs and level looks nice.
Cons:Flashy floor somewhere near the end of the level.

GAMEPLAY: No word to describe it… can’t say neutral.
The truth is that this level has some sort of warp chamber where you have to be careful not to fall into one or you’ll start back over.
There are few puzzles,,, well most of them require a certain weapon.
Pros:Good gameplay and puzzles.
Cons:The warp chambers were kinda hard to pass.

PICUP PLACEMENT:There’s a problem here:
All the picups are just “chock-a-block”…(deffinition: All of them are one next to each other)without the possibility to find more.Another thing is that there are respawning coins and ammo. eg: 307 bullets of bouncer when maximum is 99. See this one :D
http://img509.imageshack.us/img509/6646/jazz0001.png
Pros:N/A
Cons:Respawning things.

ENEMY PLACEMENT
The majority of the enemies are just in one place, these respawning as well.I mean… There ar lots of fat chicks and normal turtles somewhere all of them respawning.
Pros:it was a challenge….
Cons:Lots of enemies in 1 place and respawning.

OVERALL IMPRESSIONS AND RECOMMENDATIONS

I think this level is quite fast paced having 2 almost impossibe warp chambers to pass without a cheat, 2 bosses: a schwarzenguard and a bolly, having RF TNT Bouncer and seeker ammo, using an original set, and the music being….. carrotus?Oh well…

Conclusions

Fun:…..?N/A
Challenging:Quite
Frustrating:No
Fast Paced: quite
Original:Yes
Music:Carrotus
Boss(es):Schwarzenguard and Bolly
Long:Not really
Lori Playable: Yes (has 1.23 version and 1.24 in the *.zip file)
Rating:7.0
Rank:D
DR:Yes

This level can be improoved but after all it is fun to play.
EDIT 2: I did not knew that… that’s an explication for respawning enemies.. Apolagies. Rating changed from 6.5 to 7.2….

hmmmm so i saw this lvl at his server.

so. first things first. water… original yet annoying. i hate ctf lvls or any lvl with water ;(…
the background imo its too dark and could be greatly improved. as well as the eyecandy. the eyecandy isnt bad… but can be improved imo. also try not to use one tile masks (if u know wat i mean :D). as for the toaster area… u used a lot the same tile all around. making the eyecandy drop. the same applies to the left side
c can be greatly camped due to bouncers. as well. also imo the blue side is biased since they have the bouncer pu. bouncers can be very effective in such a level. and toaster…. imo u should swap the bouncer and toaster pu. since the bouncer isnt very effective at the red base.

as original parts …. i think the pipeline under water is quite great and well cool ;D

So a quick summary:
a) teams are biased because of the bouncer pu
b) change d background
c) make d next lvl with a new tileset :P….
d) use different tiles
e) avoid water…
f) avoid making 1 tile thick masks

i find any rating above 7 is over rated… below 5 unfair since the flow is not that bad

Well It’s great battle level very playable and one of these levels where skills (RF Trick etc) are useful there. I dislike one thing, near seek pu are to much candles and it makes down part of level a lilttle uglier. I will not also write long review like Ddoges or Napo and attacting to each other because it is boring, but I have to say, Galana’s words in her review: ,,BTW I loled when I saw lots of Jazz-start-poses and ANY MP. GG THEN,,make me laugh because it doesn’t matter in battle. Although I think rates of my clanmates are to high, yes level is good one, but not awesome to give a rate almost 10.

Woah! Guys, be careful how you rate this. It looks to be about a 7-8 level. I don’t see much reason to rate this lower than 5. Although it is quite generic and the eyecandy could possibly be better.

Also, I suggest abolishing the rating system.

RAIN SUX. LEARN HOW TO MAKE GOOD RAIN.

This is, as you may have guessed, a battle level made with the Castle 2 Night tileset. It is also not an especially good one.

Eyecandy in this level is unpleasant. There are background tiles in the foreground, and some tiles even appear in both. This is not pleasant.
The walls are particularily bad; they consist mostly of the ordinary wall tiles, slapped together fairly lazily. Most parts of them consist of less than a quarter of the wall tiles available, making them look plain, yet sloppy. Furthermore, in the areas where tiles are more variable, tilebugs abound.
The presence of the pillar tiles and slope tiles inside the walls completes the emsemble. It could be likened to a painter who, after completing a particularily uninspired work, proceeded to eat five pounds of grapes and vomit all over it.

Chains (which, by the way, haven’t been put together right) are slapped all over 3, with little regard for their location.
The background walls consist almost entirely of straight lines, and don’t use the shadow tiles properly.

Perhaps that’s enough about the level’s graphical side; there isn’t actually quite as much to criticize about the level’s actual gameplay.

The first thing to note is that the level is filled with ammo. There is too much. Way too much. Frankly, this level would be near-unplayable if indeed anyone bothered to play it, as it would simply be a cesspool of seeker spamming.

The level’s layout…well, it isn’t BAD, exactly, but it’s certainly not that good. It’s pretty generic, and, honestly, rather restrictive. The only really annoying thing, however, is the level’s single vine, which is an ungodly, aggravating, dead-end if you approach it from underneath. (You could RF climb up, but this is nearly impossible for Jazz, which, I suppose, basically creates a bias.)

On the whole, this level strikes me as being thoroughly uninspired. There isn’t much else to say.

Napoleon: I don’t have anything in particular against Robee. As it happens, however, I don’t like this level.

ANOTHER EDIT: Just to clear up the whole start position thing: when online, JJ2 uses Jazz Starts first, then Spaz Starts, then the MP starts. PLUS HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH IT.
(Yes, with careful placement of start positions you could very well determine the order in which people start. Unfortunately this is unpredictable and glitchy as crap, and will almost certainly break if you don\‘t do things exactly right, and is fairly pointless anyway. Prefer to use warps, though it should be pointed out that netiher one resets when the level cycles.)

To prevent a possible exploit and a possible error (which may have been fixed in Plus but that\‘s beside the point), you should always use Jazz Starts, and ONLY Jazz Starts, in Battle, Treasure, and any other game mode that doesn\‘t have teams.
