I just keep getting errors saying that it can’t find Jazz2 even though it’s in the same folder as jazz 2. Is this supposed to happen?

The thing is, the LEVEL (-> JJ2 content) is, in fact, finished.

The utility however isn’t completed, not all quests we planned till now are programmed.

But, via the AUTO-UPDATE function, the utility will keep itself up-to-date, so in a matter of speaking, the download here IS complete.

It would be harsh to say a MMO game isn’t finished, because it is possible for us to KEEP adding quests, items, etc.

I wanted to do a really big review, but I can’t find the time. It’s an average map, not too original, though the tileset (as used before, also by Zeal) is really good and obviously gives Dan all the eyecandy he’d need. Well executed in the looks department, a little lacking in the gameplay department.

Truly an amazing piece of work. As an avid fan of oldschool 2D platformers and sidescrollers this pack contained a lot of resonant elements for me and almost felt like a whole new game rather than just a new single player episode. The difficulty level is brutal but the sense of accomplishment from beating it is worth the effort. A must download.

This pack contains some of DS’ better work, such as Panic! (in the brains), and Botanizer. Exciting Scenery is not a bad level either. Innovation was okay but nothing too special, and Rooms, although still not bad was by far the worst level of the pack. Download reccomendation.

If i try to start this level, it gives an error.

It says: “Jazz Jackrabbit 2 ran out of internal animation structures. This is most likely caused by too many enemies in the level. Please resolve this problem and restart Jazz Jackrabbit 2.”

How can I fix this? I really want to try out the level, but I can’t this way!

After about 6 hours, I finally beat this episode. The whole series was just awesome.

Story:

In the story of this episode, you had to travel to the ice cold and remote planet nippius. In there, you had to solve simple but hard and long puzzles to get to the top of the towers, to fight bosses, but not before having to solve another level. Once clearing all 3 bosses, you had to enter devan’s lair, where you fight him. Once you beat him, you have to chase a rocket turtle.

It’s a very good story. It totally immerses you in it. It’s more than I can put in words. You’ll have to see the awesomeness of it for yourself.

Story: 10

Eye Candy:

The eye candy is very good. The levels are beautiful, and obviously, a lot of work has been put into the eye candy itself. You have forests, poison rivers and lots more. The eye candy really fits with the level itself.

Eye candy: 10

Gameplay:

The gameplay was very good, too. The levels were challenging, and if it wasn’t enough of a challenge on easy, there was normal and hard. It was very challenging. Although sometimes it was a bit TOO challenging. At least
it’s a break from all the easy levels. It’s not just a level where you can just hold/tap spacebar, hold shift/press caps lock and just run and jump. I lost all my lives at least 4 times, but it was fun. The pack is very fun. About the most fun I had in years with this game.

Gameplay: 9.5

Music:

The music was very good. Not only was it good itself, it fit with the levels and game. It was a bit dark and shadowy at times, which is exactly what the whole atmosphere around this pack is. Not much more to say about it.

Music: 10

Enemy Placement:

The enemy placement was also very good. It was one of the things that made this challenging. The enemy placement fit well with where you were, and it wasn’t always the same enemy or the same action to defeat them. You had to do all sorts of things to defeat them. Not just tapping spacebar.

Enemy placement: 10

Pickups:

Not much to say about the pickups. They are very balanced, not much seekers, and also very innovative use of the freezer to illuminate the cave. There wasn’t too much ammo, so it was quite challenging.

Pickups: 9.5

Conclusion:

Story: 10
Eye Candy: 10
Gameplay: 9.5
Music: 10
Enemy Placement: 10
Pickups: 9.5
Download recommended: Highly!

Just… don’t.

REVIEW

Only 2 of the levels were actually made by the author. The first being the level where you can select to either face the original bosses or the “bonus” bosses.
The second level is just a poorly done Bilsy battle where you start off by shooting some destruct scenery producing tilebugs after being shot. Next you walk into a warp and have to face Bilsy and you don’t even get ANY weapons to help. Killing him with just the Blaster is very hard even on the Easy difficulty.
As for all the other levels most of them are just the EPIC originals and the other level is the boss arena from Dx’s Cave. The player is placed just before the Boss arena and a very badly designed wall has been inserted to block the player from going back through the level. The Labrat one was done badly. I got stuck in the wall on starting this.

OVERALL THOUGHTS

This is basically a sort of Boss Rush level pack except NOTHING has been changed at all. There are already some perfectly good Boss Rush packs available.

I’m gonna give this 2.0 since the only effort that was put into this pack was in the Bilsy level and the level selection part.

DOWNLOAD RECOMMENDATION

No, you must design your own levels and not just edit orignals.

please don’t upload files that aren’t yours…
I don’t know why i should rate this levels but let’s go on.

These levels are all Epic levels except 2.One is Dx’s Cave level and it looks like you made 1 on your own.

Story:
“missing animation”… No story!

*Eyecandy:

All the Boss levels from the original JJ2 game have a Jazz start near the boss in every one of them. So your contribution is just with that wall next to the “Jazz Start” event.
I don’t think you ever heard of JJfly and JJnowall…
I played the levels from the begining :D ,so it won’t be that annoying and boring.

Gameplay:
The JJ2 levels (this vs.) play:

You start at the end of each level, there’s no posibility to go back(because of the “so called” wall which is badly made in most cases.) you just have to stomp or fall or get to the boss to defeat it.

And in that Bilsy level you made there’s no gameplay.
You shoot some blocks and warped on a place to beat Bilsy.

Music:

“MA!” same as jj2 game.

Enemy and Picup Placement:

Same as jj2 again. There’s absolutely no change of anyone of them.

I have nothing to say of the author, where he lives, about his clothes ,his voice, etc.

So without saying anything else:
You should make your own levels and my rating is 3.2! with no DR
