Heh, fun to see how much these look like your tileset. Surely a consistent style.

You might want to post other artwork you make here:

This level drove me nuts! I’m sorry to have to put it quite that way, but it really is that bad. Music was fine, but it didn’t fit with the level. The concept was quite intriguing, but poorly done. The ship was ugly. The level was practically bare. How long did you take to build this?
So, your concept was great, you just didn’t excecute it too well. Why don’t you next time put a little more interesting stuff in your level? It’ll improve it, trust me. The level was quite small, I got very bored very fast. The foreground ship only serves to frustrate, as it cuts off a major part of your view, and prevents you from accurately targeting opponents with your blaster.
So next time around, try making it a bit more interesting. Ditch the ship, or at least revamp the concept. You’re good at this. I can tell. Just keep plugging away at it, and watch what happens. No dl recommendation, not yet. Give him a chance to fix this up first.

Interesting background, with a few nice touches to the sprite layer. Although the seeker PU is campy, it doesn’t really matter that much since in Domination you’re a total fool to be hanging around while the Control Points are open to attack by the enemy team. Layout is not anything too spectacular, but is decent enough I guess.

While visually fantastic, the tileset still suffers from a number of problems. For starters, the leaves and the tree do not tile perfectly, and the mask is iffy, although the thing that harms it is it’s lack of versatility. The tileset reminds me of inferno in the aspect that pretty much all levels made with this set will look the same.

Yeah, I can see why you made it because you were bored…

Tileset was okay. The music was awesome, but somehow it was too awesome for the level. Like Jahari said, you flipped and flopped between the 2d and the 3d styling, which can be annoying and clumsy all at the same time. Eyecandy wasn’t really that standing-out, it seemed like you were trying to imitate Disguise and Blade [errm, a little, I dunno] with the tileset feel, which can explain why this tileset fell so short.

However, I did like how you made multiple versions of tilesets, because it’s always nice to have different colors for different level types. The example levels had a nice feel and a good design to them, and that’s good.

So go add a soundtrack that’s a little bit more fitting for this level [I would recommend HGH-WILL.xm, or something along those lines], fix up some nice detailing, and come back. I’ll be waiting!

This is a pretty good tileset, but it needs work. I’d recommend using a yellow background. The red is kinda hard on the eyes, unless it just looked bad because I don’t play in 16 bit.

You should use a consistent style with the tiles. Some are very flat while others are 3d in the “boxy” way like the houses in the background. Choose one or the other. You might try giving everything a cartoony outline like in Worms Armageddon since that’d clean up the pixelation a bit.

As far as usability goes, the tileset seems to have the basics down. I didn’t go through it very thoroughly, but it seems adequate.

The main thing that bothers me about the tileset is the lack of color contrast. I’d recommend using a yellow textured background as a step to improving that.

Good set, very versatile. Could be used to make a lot of things. It heavily reminds me of egypt in tomb rabbit (not much original) and the sand/rocks look like chocolate chip cookie scenery (except dark).

I can’t give this an 8 for those reasons. Still, nice set.

This tileset is pretty good. It has a good theme, and some eye candy possibilities. I think that we will see some more levels using this tileset in the future. The different palettes are nice too.. my favourite one is Silence. And the music used in the example level(s) is awesome too. So this tileset is a must have if you’re looking for new sets.

This is a great level AND tileset, actually! I can`t seem to be able to read the text strings, which is what I presume supposed to happen when I hit the block with the “?” on it. Also, how did you make the foreground triggering? I thought it was impossible??
Also, when I make a level with enough events in it, it chrashes on me with an access violation error. The levels I make are tops 150 wide, 96 deep. But yours is a million in every dimension! How`d you do it without chrashing it?

But, for the level and tileset itself, I give you a good rating, being an eight. (8, for those who don`t know how to speak English very well…)
It`s got nice eyecandy, the puzzle is great! And the tileset overall is pretty neat too!
This is a DR! Yep, it certainly is!

I would have to totally disagree with Master Cheater’s review, because
1: he’s a CHEETR!!! jk
2: he’s not played it, so what right does he have reviewing it?
Now, for my review…
This is a very, VERY good level pack! The theme is simple: Turtles have effectually been wiped out, but the few remnants remaining have banded together and are attacking the rabbits in full force. You are an inhabitant of the small, “backwater”, as EM put it, planet of Deserto, colonized by rabbits, now invaded for goodness-knows-why, except maybe for its oil fields. Nah, I don’t think so… So you are trying to discover why on earth someone would invade Deserto, you you pick up your gun and start looking. AFter a sequence of events, you finally realize why they’re invading: _____ _____ _____ ____ ____. Whoops, no spoilers here :( But, very good plotline, the best I’ve seen in a long while, and while gameplay was basic, it was still enjoyable, and I highly recommend downloading it!!!! Evil Mike gets a 9.8 from me, and I hope he goes back and makes EP 2!

Tools like this have been around for a long time. This is the first to be put on j2o though.

I’d like to warn everyone who thinks of using this, of one particularly important fact. Especially because of this comment:

“ I hope evilmike makes some for his single players.”

Too many episode files will cause jj2 to crash on loading the episode menu. Know this before you think of making a custom j2e, and make sure you put a warning in the description of any episode that contains one. Personally, I advise against making one at all.

Because of this fact, I do not, and likely will never use a tool such as this. I had the option of doing so years ago and I deliberately chose against it.

Excellent does what it says it will do , and works 100%. And very easy to use. The only problem with it is the interface , it’s pretty ugly but thats not going to hold back a great programe like this.

So as it says it makes episode pictures on the main single player menu so you ill no longer have to go into home cooked for some of those impressive single players. I hope evilmike makes some for his single players.

Another good thing is if you have not stuck close to the pallete it will auto convert it for you , even tho sometimes arter effects won’t be so good but hey thats the only colours you can use anyway. There isn’t much more to do that simply save the images you made and save them into jj2 as j2e files.

Conclusion
Well it does what it says and it does work , and is a very good feature for any people who enjoy makeing single players , can finally have a image on the main screen of the work. The only thing holding this back a little is the ugly interface. So i reccomend you download this.

@evilmike ,I knew there was one earlyier than this , but maybe you could make some and tell people not to have too many , or maybe a jj2+ fix could sort it out. maybe. It’s still useful.

This is definately an improvement to your previous program. The only bad thing I see so far is the weird text codes. For example: you need to type Shift + the “+=” button to write a “?” and vice versa to write a “_”.
Also, when I click “filename” it doesn`t do anything. But other than that I think it rules supremely above the other one. Mainly also because you had to start all over again on the other one, and that you had no way to edit episodes. Which is BTW also very neat. And i`m not saying that other one wasn`t good or something, I think it was one of the best programs on J2O, it`s just that this is an upgrade to it.

Also the appearance looks at least three time as good. A window with pictures looks way more awesome than only a CMD text box.

So, good? Definately.
DR? Absolutely!
Improvement? HELL YEAH!
