Nice lvl
(Unsupported rating removal. What makes this level “nice”? Possible features to discuss include eyecandy, gameplay, placement, originality and level design. Original rating 7.0. ~Violet)[This review has been edited by Violet CLM]
Ammo placement: 2.2 of 2.5 great ammo placement! But its really irritating with the seekers.
eyecandy: 2.5 of 2.5 it look so nice. so cool idea!!
originality: 3.5 of 5.0 so original with the eyecandy!
overall 2.2 + 2.5 + 3.5 = 8,2
GREAT!!
This thing is great, sounds awesome, althought I think you should make the song loop around 1 or 2 more times.
Whatever, Unknown, because I liked it, I can’t rate it the way I want to? Fine a 8.5 then.[This review has been edited by Rapcore]
I think there’s not problem with the sound. Use good midi canvas! =)(GS, GM or XG) All midi will be much better!
Well, what can I really say? Some of the files are badly labeled, so I can’t really tell what part of JJ1 they are from. They are really horrible sounding, but no blame goes to the author, as I know already that midi is a piece of crap format, I’ll probably check out Acld’s midi uploads.
I’m sure a lot of people will use these MIDI files for their websites to annoy visitors to death.
ncie job Satan

Host: if you like it what is a level if you dont like it?
If I was relatively new to JJ2 and I was entering a contest, I wouldn’t submit a level that uses a game mode I’m unfamiliar with. But that’s irrelevant. Here’s my review:
GAMEPLAY:
I can’t say I like the gameplay. The flow isn’t that good in a lot of places, and the level doesn’t look all that balanced. The routes from base to base seem rather restricting. The start positions need work. The Jazz Level Start event allows blue team too easy access to red team’s flag. Moving on, the maze-like routes and the long empty straightaways at the bottom of the level were my least favorite parts.
I also found the thing that animates at pos 32,41 to be an unnecessary obstacle.
EYE CANDY:
I found the tiles in layer 1 to be pretty annoying. In the other layers, the eye candy is about as plain as can be in 90% of the level. There are a few innovative uses of eye candy here and there, but it’s not an excuse for all the places that have almost no eye candy whatsoever.
CARROT AND AMMO PLACEMENT:
The two +1 carrots and the four useful powerups are placed much closer to red base than blue. These should’ve been placed around the entire level. A full energy carrot or two should’ve been used instead of the +1 carrots. Ammo wasn’t distributed evenly as well, which can be seen in the vast empty spaces throughout the level. Also, the ice ammo and powerup seem to be a pointless addition to this level.
HOST THIS OFTEN?
Nope. Not the worst first CTF level I’ve seen. The theme of the level is the best part IMO. Still, gameplay is the most important part of any level, so 5.7 is my rating.
Dead ends have to be in the kinda maze, and I didn’t told you okay okay i will, but I told u That getting stuck in the moving wall is what you have to do to get to the other side…
BTW, Powerups like 3way and SeekersPU are not really good in this kind of lvls. You are dead before you know it with those PU’s… Or is that what you want then!!?

EDIT1: Okay… But don’t make a discusion about it here…[This review has been edited by wadledee]
Hey.
Lissen wadledee. i told you FIX THE DEAD ENDS AND THE BUGS AND THE EYECANDY THINKS . but you said: Oke oke i will. But you did’t. so the rating may be low.
Eyecandy
Bad. you must you layer 6-7 for mountains ( Thnx Labratkid :P ) and some other stuff, ther included with the tileset. The other eyecandy is little bit good.
Gameplay
Many bugs. Dead ends and i dont like it. its very easy for spaz and hard for jazz and lori.
You can get stuck at some places ( i told to place some warps )
Ammo/Goodies/Other(s) placed
Kinda bad. i found some ammo but no really nice powerups placed. No coins???
… Next time place.
Its nice for your first one. My first one really suck. anyway
fix the bugs and reupload to get a higher rating from me.
5.9 >>>>> 6.0

Dx
The level was basically for demostration purposes only. In other words, it was kinda meant to suck, as I didn’t try to make it all that great.
The one sucker tube thing where you simply go around part of the level was designed to make you idle for 3 or 4 seconds, so you’d have a breather.
And the powerups were meant for the ‘boss’, read the readme. :P

First time reviewing in a while.
Eyecandy – Poor
It’s not all THAT bad… it gets the job done. Layer 4 has very meager eyecandy. Just platforms, basically, and a glowing catwalk thing with glowing portal things under it. Layer 3 has some sucker tubes in it. All of the background layers have various pipes and other eyecandy tiles in them. Not all that original, but I’ve seen worse.
Gameplay – Poor
Very small level with very evil gameplay. It’s very easy to get stuck, and lots of places have no one ways where you would think there would be a one way, and vice versa – some places have one ways and you don’t know why the heck they have them. The sucker tube system is very annoying. It’s way too fast, and some sucker tubes simply take you around part of the level, then spit you back out in the same place (it makes the level look a bit bigger, I’d also have to say =P). As for the flow, it’s pretty non-existant. As for the concept, I don’t 100% understand it, but if I’m correct in my understanding, it’s not bad at all. Kind of confusing, still… there will be lots of misunderstandings when this is hosted.
Ammo placement – N/A
Kind of confusing. But there are lots of powerups and fastfires.
Anyway, review ends here, I have to go.
No big download reccomendation, but the concept is interesting and you might want to take a look at it.[This review has been edited by labratkid]
Heyy I don’t know what to say! This is the best mulpiplayer jj2 program ive ever seen.
It is bug free, has a easy-to-understand interface and a minimum of features.
So, I give it a 10!
[q]I seem to not be able to use this program. I get an error every time.
It says Quote:
System Error &H8007007E (-2147024770). The specified module could not be found.
Do I need some special Runtimes?[/q]
No, I think you will have to format C: and reinstall Windows… Because this may be a permanent error.
(POST PIGGYBACK: I SERIOUSLY recommend against formatting for such a minor error. Try Googling around. You may have to not include the error number in case it is variable. -Trafton)[This review has been edited by Trafton AT]
I hope it’s not a problem but I don’t really the TIMM tracks, but this one (like the Letni RMX) is really nice piece! =)
Samples: New beat samples + few extras to the melody + few new & good effects.
Beats: There’s a new beat, which is really nice, but the bass drum can be more sharper I think. There are very good beet changings, like at the starting of the track.
Melody: There’s the original “Dü-dü-dübdüb” sound which is good to keep the original feeling of the track. There are few new effects (we could hear them in AcId’s remixes), which I really like.
Overall: If you’re like the JJ music you must download it! =) Good track, new beat, metallic tech-effects, different track structure & piano like instument added to to the melody… I like it! =)[This review has been edited by TaZaR]
Ok, as I promised here’s my rating…
Sample Selecting: I think it’s good. Melody instrument is similar to the original, but it’s filled with more “electricity”, and whole song is more “Funky like”.
Beats: I’ve got a little problem here, I think the basic kick groove can be louder, or the snaredrum or clap can be more quiet or less sharp. But the full groove is nice I think.
Melody: The main melody is same as the original’s, but there are few new things, and you had extended the melody very well. Just, try make another changes to the melody next time I think, but it’s good. =)
Overall: It’s a good remix, with good samples, good ideas, but I think it need more things from that, (more good ideas, more new things.) like in the intro & the ending part. Good luck for the other remixes! =)
This review will be rushed, guaranteed. Also note that I’ve never played JJ1 before.

CARROT PLACEMENT: Decent.
AMMO PLACEMENT: Decent.
HOST THIS OFTEN? Maybe a few times after truly understanding how this level works.
Overall review: I can’t say I hate any one of these levels. I was expecting something a little better, but the pack in all is good. My biggest gripe would have to be with the size of a lot of these levels. I’m not much of a fan of small levels anymore, but I won’t let that affect the rating. Also, I was really expecting FireSworD’s One Spot Extended level to be in this pack. But anyway, I liked most of the levels in this pack, and I might actually host the pack from time to time, so an 8.5 will be my rating.
Danyjel, how can you listen to it with mp3? It doesn’t work with winamp :(
Guys, keep in mind that the higher the rating, the more likely it will be mistrusted. I’m listening to this as I’m writing this, and surely this isn’t a 9.5, tho it comes close. If you wanna be a good reviewer, don’t suck up to the author (that goes double for Danyel ;p). Even a 7 will make him create more things ;) Also, I wouldn’t advice reviewing if you don’t have both original songs for reference ;p
Crossing Tubelectric with an icy feeling has been done before. Some of you may remember “Winder Thunderland”, which was just parts of Tubelectric with new X-masy (is that a word?) samples. This remix falls under another category tho.
melody
The danger of mixing two songs together is that the whole will sound choatic if done wrong. This remix is only half choatic. It’s basicly Ice Cap Zone mixed with loose parts of Tubelectric (not the whole song, there’s parts missing). The intro may sound empty, but that’s a trait of big ice cold enviroments. As the song continues, you’ll hear Ice Cap (faintly), but you’ll mainly hear the Tubelectric part because it’s so loud. The Ice Cap part has been lengthened by repetition, but unfortunately, part of the original melody is lost. I would have liked to hear that song complete and put forward more, since the tracker intended it as the main component of this remix.
Samples
I can’t name the samples, but I can say they’ve been chosen well for Ice Cap. Tubelectric on the other hand is so-so.
JJ2 compatibility
What’s this you ask? Well, for your information, there are some modules that JJ2 can’t play, or can’t play correctly even tho they have the right extensions, due to its (old) music engine. This remix suffers from this. When you want to use it in JJ2 you’ll get a “Input past end of file” error, and JJ2 will shut down. I’ve seen other modules which cause the same type of error. Tip: If you want to make it JJ2 compatible, test it in JJ2 too and not only in ModPlug or a similar player.
Verdict
A pretty interesting remix to say the least. It’s not prefect, but pretty good. It’s too bad the Ice Cap part is so vague, too much into the background. But it’s still enjoyable for the Sonic/Jazz fans out there. Download recommended if you don’t mind a listen-only remix.
- JelZe GoldRabbit =:3
Very good done! But I don’t think it will be so usefull in the game, more in my Winamp (like Danyjel said). I should have given it some higher rating if it weren’t because that I won’t use it in the game!
(Unsupported rating removal edit. A proper review needs more than just saying “this file doesn’t work in JJ2” several times. ~Violet)[This review has been edited by Violet CLM]
