Also no pickups, which is also quite bad and i got stuck in the wall a few times but then there are good things! THE EYECANDY WAS GREAT!!!!! There are mountains and valleys in th background and they really fit in, Also the lvls are xtremly fun and the gameplay is great!!!!!!! The lvls are nice and big and are quite a fun challenge, unlike the cracco balloon races! The size of the lvls are great! and the tile use is excellent! Storylines were good and the lvls (like DX said) had great size! the storlines also are great! Download reccomendation YESSS!!

YAYAYAYAYAYAY WISET!
Anyway, Bored set is a rather…interesting tileset.
Let’s start off shall we? Look : Well let’s see. Bored set has a lot of diversity with tiles. 3 types of backgrounds, 2 types of normal ground, and transitions through each. All neeede tiles are included, and I must say that the sucker tubes are possibly the best I’ve seen in any tileset for sucker tubes. Mountains are nice, in fact the general look of the tileset is great. However, there foreground eye candy is completly gone! Overall : Diverse ground types, all needed tiles are present. Next to no foreground layer eye candy possible. Ease to use : Very easy to use. I could easily make levels whithout using layers 5/6, but I won’t because it would look stupid. The point is, all tiles have a way to transition from one to the other. Overall : Very very easy to use. Diversity : No tileset is perfect right? I have to say that Bored Set using levels are basically never going to be much different than the example levels. An even mix of Castle areas to Nature areas. Otherwise, the author can mix and match ground types and backgrounds so that one area never looks exactly like another. Overall: Eh…FINAL RATINGS : Not a bad tileset, but not the greatest tileset out there. It’s actually quite good, and I can expect a mad rush of Bored Set CTF’s to arrive in about 2 weeks. I know I’m using it. 7.7.
Shiverz Review
Gameplay
When I first started this level and with my sister we thought maybe Jazz and Spaz had different starting positions but they didn’t. Unfortunetly this was quite easy to get through unless you fell into the water and got stuck then me and my sister were completly lost.
Baddies ‘n Other Events
There wasn’t very many baddies there were a few turtles this was disappointing as it made it easier. There also wasnt any food and some coins there was one secret part we found with toasters in however.
What Would Have Made It Better
More multiplayer things like when you can jump on each others heads to reach high places or wallclimb. I think more puzzling parts should have been added and different start positions like Jazz having to unlock parts for Spaz and then Spaz unlock parts for Jazz
Conclusion
I wouldn’t recommend d/ling this because its easy to complete has no enemies. If it had been a little more puzzling with weapons and food to make it better the rating would be higher.
Rating
5 for a try at making a co-operative only level. [This review has been edited by Shiverz]
Time to review again.
First impressions: This is a level by Bignick, one whose levels aren’t too good.
Gameplay: This level’s gameplay is very bad. I don’t like it. There are lots of dead ends and a very bad layout, the level is very hard to learn and you can’t see where you are. I don’t like it too much. The flow of this level is also bad, there aren’t even springs, and I dislike that the most.
Conclusion gameplay: The gameplay is awful, the level has a bad flow and layout, and there are no springs. The level is extremely hard to learn. You can’t even see where you are going.
Eye candy/Tileset use: The eye candy here is very bad, there is almost nothing. There are numbers in layer 2, and that’s all. There is layer 8 of course, but that’s almost everything, like I said. The tileset is used extremely bad, too.
Conclusion eye candy/tileset use: Very bad eye candy, only some numbers in layer 2 and a background in layer 8. Tileset use is extremly bad.
Pickup placement: the ammo in this level is alot at the ground, which is not too good. There are a few Pu, I don’t know how many(I am too lazy to check). The ammo placement isn’t too good, too. There is too many for a level of this size. I found 4 carrot energy +1’s, that’s too many in a level with this size. I don’t see a reason to put a warp that takes you to the top of the level, I don’t like that.
Conclusion pickup placement: This level has a not too good ammo placement, it’s mostly at the ground. The carrot placement is bad, the warp is unnecessary.
Originality: This level may be original, because it’s invisible. It’s not good that it’s invisible, but it’s still an idea. The tileset isn’t overused, but there should be another music in this level.
Conclusion originality: The idea to make the level invisible is original, but not too good. The tileset isn’t overused, and the music doesn’t fit the level.
Others: I don’t like to rate fun factor here.
Host this: If you are stupid.
Download recommendation: For people who like to see very bad levels. No download recommendation for anyone else.
Final Rating: 1.7. Very bad level.
- DarkSonic of XSÐ, CC and XLM was here -
No scrolling marquee allowed on J2O. D= I think. Anyway, I haven’t reviewed in a while. Here goes.
Gameplay – Very bad
Well, I can’t even SEE where I’m going. Other than that, the level has no real gameplay or flow to it. It could be remotely fun, but not for long. If you ask any good battle / CTF level maker, they’ll tell you that the easier it is to get around a level, the better (in most cases). This one is extremely difficult to navigate.
Eyecandy – Very bad
It’s not like you’re using any visible blocks besides some number blocks in the foreground and background, and a non-textured background in layer eight. You could’ve atleast picked a tileset with a working textured background so the level would look SORT of good.
Ammo placement – Okay
The thing I like the most about this level is the ammo placement, simply because it gives you a hint (a rather small hint, but a hint), as to what’s solid and what’s not. Electroblasters can be fun to play with in here, since you can shoot through the invisible blocks with them.
Overall – Bad
This level looks like around a 2.0. Maybe that’s a little too high, though… don’t give up making levels. Everyone starts somewhere. Take Snooz for example. His first levels were awful, (no offense, Snooz) and now he’s a great level maker.
Download reccomendation – No
@ Cooba: I don’t saw any other ones doesn’t mean I have to be right.
Admins please delete it.
(I hate stolen ideas)
>sorry<
@ Shiverz: Thx for your review. I will try better. But first I will make a race with Egypt_Light :-)
@ Niels:
Oh, forgot about internet Co-Op
I will reupload now. Thx
@ Sonictth:
Thx for reviewing, but if you think it’s fun, why do you change your rating from 7 to 5 (5 isn’t fun). Shiverz rated it 5 where it wasn’t patched…

Chapter 1: Save The Sheep! (CE2.j2t)
A traditional type of level with a classical tileset. It takes place in the same city as LoC, but a while later after the coin curse. Fans of LoC will probably recognize a lot of things in this level. Five red sheep of the farmer have ran away. It’s up to you to find them back for him.
Chapter 2: Santa’s Stolen Hats (SantasSnowyZone.j2t)
On top of a hill close to a quiet mountain village, Santa Claus lives. But he’s in big trouble! The evil Fake Santa Claus has stolen his collection of hats! Fake Santa tries everything to prevent christmas from happening. And Santa Claus won’t go anywhere unless he has his hats back. After stealing them, Fake Santa Claus has hid the hats so Real Santa wouldn’t find them back. Please help Santa, find the hats and save christmas!
Chapter 3: The Head Hunter (SanctuaryOfTheVampire.j2t)
You want to win the vampire Henk’s trust by proving him that you would be a good vampire as well. Henk has murdered a lot of people and sucked out their blood. He threw the corpses away in and around his manor. But now he wants to have the heads of people he murdered last night as trophies. If you can find those five heads and bring them to Henk’s chamber, you’ll have earned yourself a new friend! My favorite level of the pack.
Chapter 4: Snowdust: Reloaded (Kool.j2t)
Drangus, the evil villain from the Snowdust Village, has returned, screaming for vengeance. He has used his dark magical powers to create a paralel dimension, called the F-Dimension. He has created one or two portals which connect both dimensions. To make the snowmen pay for what they did to him last time, he has captured five snowmen and is holding them prisoner in his F-Dimension. Help the snowmen; go to the F-Dimension, find the keys of their cells and free the snowmen! Fans of the original Snowdust Village may like this one.
Chapter 5: Grand Casino (PartyCasino.j2t)
This level does not really have a storyline. You’re in the middle of a big casino and in order to get out, you have to pull the levers of five slotmachines which are each in a different room. Each of them has a sort of ‘test’ to reach it. Don’t play this level if you don’t like tests or don’t have enough patience, since it’s slightly different from the previous four.
Btw, If there are any bugs I’ll be glad to hear about them so I can fix them!
Note: The reason why I didn\‘t put any enemies or hurts in the levels was that although they are single player levels, they\‘re mostly hosted on-line so that people can play through the level as a team. :P
Superjazz: Yes, I made all tilesets myself (somehow I’m against making levels with tilesets that aren’t my own), but I didn’t draw the first one totally by myself, the first one consists mostly of ripped things from RPGs.[This review has been edited by CraccoBoy]
I suppose I’m a bit overdue with reviewing this. Oh well. Here’s hoping this doesn’t end up being TOO biased…
Unlike most, if not all, other conversions, this particular one consists of five (plus one copy with a minor color edit, which was probably unnecessary anyway) different tilesets, each taken from one of the many different locales in Commander Keen 4: Secret of the Oracle. Despite being released in 1991, it is still a fantastic game with great and highly creative art.
Nearly every tile from the original game is included, seeing as how this was created from a rip of the official tileset. Additions such as hooks, vines, poles, destructable blocks (albeit ripped from official sets), and a textured background are also present. Pole, Pinball, and snow events aren’t recommended because they tend to look bad.
Not every piece of eyecandy could be added into every set due to JJ2’s somewhat restrictive tileset size, but everything that should be in each set is. The animations are all present and accounted for, as are all of the game’s various collectable items. Triggers can easily be manipulated with the doors, keygems, and switches. In some sets that had a little extra room, the full SGA was included along with a translation. I can only imagine what sort of messages some of you people out there would concoct.
Masking is smooth. Very smooth. I could not intentionally get myself stuck, and since every set uses the same masking for its solid parts, they are all quite well done in this regard.
A couple of the tunes from CK4 were also included (“Eat Your Veggies” and “Welcome to Another Kick in the Pants in Good Old Hillville”, for the inquiring minds), which certainly doesn’t hurt anything. I’d converted another one of the songs, but he refused to include it because it wasn’t used in an example level. The fiend.
Overall, I really cannot find much fault with this. Each locale has been pieced together flawlessly to look exactly like the original, along with all of the minor embellishments that made the Keen series what it is. My only real complaint is the fact that a full version with every set together would have to be TSF-only, but that merely further testifies to the quality of the source game. There’re also a couple things I’ve noticed during the typing of this that were left out, but they’re minor enough that they don’t affect the score, and I can bug him about it later anyway.
It’s a bit hard to decide what to give this, considering my bias towards the series and my constant involvement in the creation of this conversion (read as: slave-driving perfectionism and unforgiving criticism), so I’m going to semi-arbitrarily give this an 8.5.
Nice work. Now if your name is Labratkid, stop reading this and go ask me what you left out.[This review has been edited by Scizor CT][This review has been edited by Scizor CT]
Lets review;
Eyecandy; (3,7)
Layer 8 is very bad you see its devided in 4 and layer 7,6 or 5 has also a big bug.
and its a little ugly becouse its (too)small.
Gameplay; (6)
You can walk to it only if youre down its a little hard to go down.(shure in a battle or duel)
But you can walk good trough the middle in a battle.
Ammo; (6.7)
Placed very good,
The RF’s +15 boxes in the very downest is hard to reach.(very much for Lori)
But thats not a big problem)
You should update it and make the backgrounds better.
My Grade a: 4-
p.s: – means -0.2 but there is no 3.8.
Nice program,
Wil there be a Jazztool that works on The new paths???:)
I wont give you a 1 because you at least know how to make a title set :P
Gameplay:
I liked this level at first, then I began to play more into it, and I can’t say I’m crazy about the spring work. The two blue springs at the top of the level are so evil, I really don’t like tediously moving back and forth in mid air. The level is symmetric, which is fine I guess. I’d wish that the warps to the full nrg were better marked. Also, the springs are aggrivating if you’re going to wrong direction that they were intended for, but I’m usually going that way because of the symmetric layout. Overall : Average game play but various flow issues.Eyecandy/Tileset use :
Nothing great nothing bad. Average seems to describe this level. One great great hint I can give you, and this goes for everybody. MAKE YOU’RE TEXTURED BACKGROUNDS AUTO SCROLL. Sorry for caps, but I need everybody to see this. It takes no layers, but makes the level look so much nicer, and when you stop moving the level dosen’t die! Plus it’s usually realistic. Tileset use is good, using a wide variety of ground types and backgrounds. Overall : Average eye candy but dies when you stop moving. Good tileset use.Originality :
Nothing spectacular here. Just a run of the mill (symmetric ;-;) ctf level.Placement :
Because of symmetry, naturally both sides are equal right? So balance is perfect in a sense. Full nrg is impossible to camp, but you’re still able to move it out of the way taking people off gaurd. Powerups are a pain to get. Seeker powerup is especially annoying because of the springs required to get up there. The Bouncer and RF would be nicer if you had given us some electro instead of bouncers to get them. Overall : Average ammo and carrot placement.FINAL RATINGS :
Overall an average level with minor flow issues, average eyecandy. Naturally a level so average deserves and average rating. 6.0Final notes :
I can only reiterate. MAKE YOU’RE TEXTURED BACKGROUNDS AUTO SCROLL. The creators show promise, but still have a while to go before making good or possibly great levels. I suggest getting beta testers to help you in the early stages of development. There is nothing wrong with forcing a friend who knows good level making to beta you every step of the way.Host? :
Sadly not. Then again, basically 8 and above are the only levels that are ever played spare the creators own servers.[This review has been edited by Inf. Spaz]A collaboration. How cute.
GAMEPLAY:
The layout seems basic enough with a few warps here and there. The flow would be decent, if I didn’t have to jump over a lot of the springs to get around. Some parts at the top seem too cramped, but I can deal with it. At this point, I figure the level’s nothing particularly good but nothing extremely bad either. But after a while, I realized I didn’t really like the layout—probably because of how all of the slopes are placed.
EYE CANDY:
The eye candy, while unique for the given tileset, doesn’t necessarily look that good. I can’t say placing ground tiles in the foreground layers looks any good with this set—or at least with the way its designed in this level. Aside from the train tiles, some mud tiles, and a few other insignificant tiles, this level probably could have been made with the 1.23 version of the set, but I can see why this tileset was used. And the background tiles could have been placed a little higher so that they can be seen easier. Also, there are many minor bugs in the eye candy which should have been fixed during beta testing including all the trees and the bricks in 3rd layer near each base. So the eye candy is somewhere between half-decent and no-so-good.
CARROT AND AMMO PLACEMENT:
The way that the full energy carrot is placed in the small room it’s in helps prevent some camping, which could be a good thing. But I don’t like how the warp target out of the carrot room is placed. The powerups are alright where they are, though the bouncer and RF powers could’ve been slightly easier. Ammo distribution could be a little more even, but it can stay as it is.
HOST THIS OFTEN?
I certainly can’t say often. This is a 6.7, though.
The new update comes soon
Good Title Set,
The lvl Grass Citadel was nice
Good title sets i have a very little remembering of that i ever played the game a few times:D.
Good lvl lets review,
eyecandy;
I saw a bug somewere right-under of the lvl.(a crack in the wall)
Nice blocks and walls.
Gameplay;
Nice to run to, but i think you don’t have to put that warps under the bases becouse then its a little easy in a clanwar or something.
Ammo;
You could put some more weapons in it but thats ok.
Only you should put a little less of the same.
Here are the grades:
Eyecandy: 8.5
Gameplay: 8.7
Ammo: 7.3
———————————-
Final Grade: 8.2
