I think that you are trying to bump the carrots so they will stay up. You don’t want the carrots to touch the bottom.
There are 4 reviews about this level so I will make it 5 :-)

LVL DESIGN AND EYECANDY AND…STUFF
Lvl design isn’t something really great. It’s a bit boring and the level doesn’t have any story or atmosphere. The eyecandy is also nothing special, but the background layers are fully used and there is also a bit on the foreground. Sadly the foreground is very buggy (layer 3 isn’t used right, if you use layer 3 to hide something, also put tiles around the tiles where you want to hide something —> hope you know what I mean ^^).
GAMEPLAY
Gameplay isn’t too atractive, mostly boring because there are only some turtles, bats and dragons. There are some well hidden secrets, tough. And the food placement is ok. I think the gameplay could have some more action and maybe a puzzle or something.
AMMO AND OTHER WEAPONS STUFF
Ammo placement is ok, there is some bouncer and some fire ammo. You won’t have problems with toasting the enemies with that…But it’s still too much ammo for that less enemies. :-P
BADDIES
The baddies fit into the place (only the Formely A Prince enemies from Cliffy’s castle levels are used). But they are very boring. The only baddys that surprised me sometimes where those bats because they were hiding behind some layer 3 stuff.
HURT EVENTS AND OTHER OBSTACLES
There are some spikes but you can jump over them in one big jump and they won’t desturb you anymore.
TILESETS
The tileset the author used, was the castle thingy from original Jazz Jackrabbit 2: Formely A Prince. I don’t like this tileset too much, because I saw it very often.
USE OF TILESETS
The tileset use was nothing special, there are some tilebugs (mostly with layer 3).
CONCLUSION
Overall, sorry, but it’s too boring. Why? Because the enemies aren’t difficult enough to disturb you (one shoot and they are toast). You should place them on harder places. Also the level is boring because the eyecandy is nothing special and it’s all very linear (put something unusual next time). That’s all, nothing more to say.
Final Rating? I think I will give a 5.
HAVE FUN
WHAT IS THIS!!!? Okey, you can send the flying carrots in another direction with Spaz. But GIVE MORE INFO WHAT IT MEANS! WHAT YOU HAVE TO DO!! Also, when all the carrots are out of the field, you go to another level I think. But in the second level you CANT SEE THE CARROTS OR THE MOUSE! Please fix that!
I can’t rate it, because I dont know what it means. Give more info. But what I have seen is nice.
DOWNLOAD RECOMMEDATION: Your decision
PLAY THIS: Maybe
Here’s yet another “super quick” review.
GAMEPLAY:
From what I can tell, the layout is too linear for my tastes. The gameplay is mostly run back and forth from base to base. I just don’t really like the way the routes are. This level feels lopsided with the way that the left side is narrow with short passages while the right is more spacious with longer routes. The flow is decent though it could be better such as in the several places where I have to jump while running. And the level doesn’t have anything new in it. I’d be lucky if I could recall if this level even existed in a few months.
EYE CANDY:
The eye candy isn’t too different from most levels that use this tileset. My only complaints would be with some of the ground tiles in the 3rd layer that poke out in front of players. It looks a little odd, but it’s no big deal. Also, the buildings don’t add much to the atmosphere; they pretty much get in the way more than anything. In addition, I found the changing lighting effects to be irritating. Still, the eye candy is decent.
CARROT AND AMMO PLACEMENT:
The full energy carrot and the 3 powerups are placed well enough, although it’s pretty ordinary and dull the way it is. The ammo placement, while not hideous, isn’t that great. Most of it’s right on the ground, thus encouraging more simple running base to base. I suppose it could work out, but I didn’t find it particularly fun. In fact, I didn’t find most of this level fun.
HOST THIS OFTEN?
Depends on how much you like linear levels. I probably wouldn’t host this myself. 7.2 because I’m a nice guy, and the level isn’t horrible anyway.
Hmmm…noone rated this yet so I’ll do now

LVL DESIGN AND EYECANDY AND…STUFF
Lvl Design is ok, but nothing new. It all works but it gets boring after some time because the level is very linear. I also think the pack needs a story. Eyecandy, is also nothing really amazing but not bad. There are much layer 3 bugs. If you do a layer 3 hidden passage, then also put tiles around the part where you walk in. Don’t know how to tell this…
M masked blocks
UM unmasked blocks
B blocks (doesn’t matter if masked or not)
Layer 4:
MMMMMMMMMM
UMUMUMUMUM
MMMMMMMMMM
Layer 3:
BBBBBBBBBB
BBBBBBBBBB
BBBBBBBBBB
Get it? Sorry, I’m not a good explainer :-)
Okay, let’s continue…There are two bosses, one in level 2 (Bubba) and one in level 3 (forgot his name). In level 2 as I wanted to fight Bubba, I lost my ammo at the start of the battle and had to kill him with my blaster (put ammo crates around like in level 3). Oh, I forgot, sometimes you have to search keys for doors (I’m not talking about trigger crates). This is well done.
GAMEPLAY
Gameplay is a bit boring sometimes, because there isn’t any story or something original (for example you could use one of the angels who gives you a mission or something). There is mostly enough ammo (except at the end of level 2). The enemies fit well into the place.
AMMO AND OTHER WEAPONS STUFF
Ammo placement is ok, but like mentioned before I missed some ammo at the end of level 2.
BADDIES
The baddies fit well into the place, but sometimes there are too much of them. Luckily I played with Lori (hehe) laughs and kicked all the skeletons in one rush :-p
HURT EVENTS AND OTHER OBSTACLES
On some places there are very fast moving platforms which you have to use. I mostly got really angry about them because I played 15 minutes until I got up :-)
TILESETS
The author used the Heaven tileset from Agama (one of the best tilesets ever —> Top 3 Tileset Charts). Well choosen.
USE OF TILESETS
The tileset use is also very well. There are some foreground bugs (like mentioned before) but that’s all. The rest is pretty good.
CONCLUSION
Overall ok level pack with a good tileset, (mostly) good ammo + enemy placement and okay Fun Factor. Hmm…I’m not sure about giving a download reccomendation or not… Decide on your own.

Sucatube.
Tilesets are not to be rated. You have to review the way he used the tileset, if it could be any better.
The only thing you actually commented are the weapon placement. Which in no way explains your rating. Please rewrite you review and spend time on it this time.
Yay. Finally again a CTF level by LRK. Let’s review this one.
First impressions: This is a level by LabRatkid of TF and OLC and it uses the Oasis tileset.
Gameplay: Good/Very Good. The gameplay here is good, but nothing really special. The level’s size is big in the width, but there could be more height here. It doesn’t really matter, so I go on with the gameplay. There is a nice spring placement(like most good levels have). There isn’t a complete border around the level, and I think it causes the flag bug. The layout is nice, but the level could be more open. There is one way and float up too at some places, and the bases are placed well.
Conclusion Gameplay: Pros: Nice spring placement and layout. Cons: Probably a flag bug, the level could be more open, and the level’s height could be more.
Eye candy/Tileset use: Good/Very Good. This level has mostly typical eye candy for the Oasis tileset(in layer 3 and 2), and it looks nice imo. There are alot of trees and that roads that go to another direction, while that’s also in layer 4, and that is the only right way. It may be confusing, but I think it isn’t in this level. Like most levels with this tileset have, there are also caves in some places. The layer use is nice, and the background is typical for the tileset. The tileset is used well, too.
Conclusion eye candy/Tileset use: Pros: Alot of eye candy in layer 3 and 2, which looks nice. The tileset use is good, too. Cons: The roads that go to another direction than in layer 4 may be confusing.
Pickup placement: Good/Very Good. This is also nice, there is a nice ammo placement, and the ammo is mostly placed symmetrical, but the level isn’t completely symmetrical(what I forgot to say in the gameplay section). There is just as many ammo at the other side I think, and the selections of ammo are nice chosen too. There are 3 PU, a Bouncer, RF and Seeker PU. The Seeker PU is placed in the centre, the Bouncy PU at the right side of the level and the RF PU at the left side of the level. There is also a full energy, which is placed in the middle, and that’s good(of course). The ammo should be as close to the ground at some places.
Conclusion pickup placement: Pros: Nice ammo placement, there is the same amount of ammo at each side of the level. Cons: The ammo could be less close to the ground at some places.
Originality: Good/Very Good. The level is original, yes. First off, the level name. Second: The level music. Third: There is nothing stolen, but the eye candy is(of course) the same as in most levels with this tileset. But that’s because the tileset doesn’t have alot of different eye candy tiles.
Conclusion originality: An original level, which has no stolen things.
Fun Factor: This level isn’t very fun to play, there is a straight route to the bases, and the level is quite closed. But, the level is quite original, and originality has something with fun factor I think.
Conclusion fun factor: Not very fun, the level has a straight route to the bases, and is quite closed. The originality makes it good.
Others: Host this: Sure, it’s a quite good new level.
Download: Yes.
Final rating: 8.0. Good job LabRatkid.
- DarkSonic of XSÐ, CC and XLM -
Edit: changed rating to 7.7.
Btw, Yay, I can put Seeker PU’s in my levels again![This review has been edited by da man]
LRK ctf level ;(
EYECANDY: 7.3
The mountains are nice in the BG, but look dull at the bottom of the level. Then the eyecandy gets confusing. There are already enough ground tiles at layer 3. This may confuse some newbies but the most experienced players have seen the eyecandy like this on most levels earlier. Anyways the most part of the level is done fine and isn’t confusing. Yay.
GAMEPLAY: 8.8
The boring “run left, run right” style is used here. When you take a close look at this level, you see that the level features THREE PLATFORMS! OMG. The positive thing is that you still can go around easily.
OTHER STUFF PLACEMENT: 6.3
Carrot and the bouncy powerups are closer to red base and RF powerup and the seek powerup are close to blue base. That means blue can have those two most deadly weapons in JJ2 and red has a lousy carrot and a lousy bouncie powerup. This is once again NOT the way.
ORIGINALITY: 6.4
I’d like if this level was something different for a change. Argh. There are many other levels using the run right, run left style, which is boring anyway.
FUN FACTOR: 6.2
Where the fun is? The level is boring run right, run left with THREE PLATFORMS!!!!! How can it be like that? Bonus points for the music. Luv it.
OVERALL: 6.2
DOWNLOAD? If bored.
HOST? Maybe.
The Edit: I was writing this review while R3ptile was submitting his own. There was no other reviews while I started reviewing this, so I did not rate this low on purpose.
The Edit Number Two: Now the seek powerup placement rating is gone away.[This review has been edited by the WINNER]
This is a great tileset and the battle lvl with it is good too! The tileset has fabulous eyecandy and is really funny! the DJSpaz was a great laugh!!! the tileset itself is actually quite hard to use. the animations are really great. i recommend u download this!
(Semi-borderline unsupported rating removal edit. ~Violet)[This review has been edited by Violet CLM]
this remix is reasonably good but i prefer the actual orbitus music. the screeches ruin it though, i cant really say much about this but all i can think of is keep it up!
(Unsupported rating removal edit. Please provide more detail in your reviews. ~Violet)[This review has been edited by Violet CLM]
This lvlpack seems to have no music but that doesnt really matter, there placement for pickups made me sick, i hardly found anything! The tileset is really nice and the echo sounds are okay… i guess but the way the lvls are created is fantastic, it is actually possible to do this with dying usually i never die on single player. the lvls r very original, and the dinosaur one was really cool, i wonder how u did that, the eyecandy was reasonably perfect and the episode is actually a challenge for me. i have to say that the lvls are excellent and the storyline was interestin. this is a great episode, minus the way there is no music, it is fantastic! DOWNLOAD THIS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
So, I feel I have to rate this today, so I’ll do now.

LVL DESIGN AND EYECANDY AND…STUFF
Lvl Design isn’t the best, it even after fixing has a lot of bugs, and also if both levels would be one, the level would be too small. Also, at the end of the second level the boss doesn’t appear anymore (maybe he sleeps :-P). Eyecandy, well, nothing spectacular. It’s ok. There isn’t much sprite eyecandy, but a good background. What sucks is the structure, because level 2 is almost the same as level 1, only some minor changes (airboard, boss at the end). There are several more bugs, but I’m too lazy to tell them all.
GAMEPLAY
Not really the greatest part of the “pack” (I think it’s too short for a pack). Playtime is about…3 minutes or something. There are even after Bjarni’s fixing several bugs (I will list them later), and there aren’t any items like coins, gems, food, etc. (only little ammo at start).
AMMO AND OTHER WEAPONS STUFF
Ammo isn’t all that great. In level 1 there are some seeker at the start. In level 2 it’s some toaster ammo. That’s all. But, well, you won’t need more ammo…
BADDIES
Not much variety. In level 1 there are some turtles at the start (very easy to defeat). And over the spike pit are some flying lizards. Oh, and at the end there is a TufBoss, which appears some time, some time not (the first time I played, he does, other times not…) I think there’s something wrong with the activate boss event.
HURT EVENTS AND OTHER OBSTACLES
In both levels there is a whole line of spiky vines on the ground. Well, also in level 1 the vine what should help you coming over the spikes seems to be an obstacle because sometimes you can grab it, sometimes not.
TILESETS
The levels are using the carrotus tileset (day and night version). This one is very overused, but Bjarni made this pack 3 years ago, so he didn’t knew that this tileset was going to be overused as he made the levels.
USE OF TILESETS
The tileset use is…sprite tiles isn’t used very good (not much tile variety). But the background is good. Nothing more to say.
CONCLUSION
Updated? Well, I think the levels aren’t updated completely (I said I would list all bugs so I will do that now).
Bugs:
Level 1:
-After the first platform there’s a hole. If you fall through, you land on spikes.
-If you fell on the spikes you can run to the right sight and finish the level (I don’t think Bjarni wanted to let players finish it while running over spikes).
Level 2:
-Boss doesn’t appear all the time.
-If you defeat the boss (if he appeared before) he says “sooper dooper secret” or something… Why that???
In both levels there are still some tilebugs (I think).
So, I don’t think you should download this, only (like Labratkid said) if you are Bjarni fans.
NOTES:
Bjarni, if you want to fix a level, then do it right. Also if people say make the level longer, than not only say “I fixed the bugs and now it’s ready”. MAKE IT LONGER, GUY. Final rating is a 4.
Good luck for your next project

i love jj1 tilesets. and now that there is day night and evening, im even more amazed! this is exactly the same as the jj1 version. I think this is better than the jj2 diamondus, this also has example lvls. the sucker tubes are new and they really blend in with the tileset. i wish the deckstar tileset was here. i can just say “THIS IS EXCELLENT, DOWNLOAD IT OR ELSE!” ;D[This review has been edited by sabaspaz]

The tileset is really cool, ive seen like a million lvls here but i never get bored of it. it has great eyecandy just like egypt but there was one tile missing and i really needed to place this before but i couldnt find it. the music is annoyin but the tileset also has an example lvl which is good!

i dont really like swamps but this one really attracted me for some reason! this tileset is not as good as your others in my opinion but it is still fantastic. I recommend to everyone to download this!

This is a great tileset, actually it is the best tileset there is. the tileset is hard to use but thats y i -0.3, otherwise, if u can use it, it is perfect, all your uploads are perfect!
(Unsupported rating removal edit. Please provide more detail in your reviews. ~Violet)[This review has been edited by Violet CLM]
I’m a Bjarni fan! So I downloaded them.
When I saw the first one, I thought that it had OK eye candy, but it could have been more. There are a few enemies at first, and you get some seekers. I should have saved them. The next part of it is a vine, with those heli-lizards around it. Unfortunately, I fell, but I got back up by using them as platforms.
And in the second level, you go a little ways, have to hop on this moving platform, and then you get an airboard! (What Bjarni level would be complete without one?)
Anyway, they were fairly good, but small as Labrat said, but I’ve seen better out of Bjarni. Make more levels like the one with the Tuf Turtle City. That was the best one of yours I’ve played.
This lvl pack seems interesting. It has a storyline and it is fun. it has great lvls, (they were nice and long) especially the pinball lvl but at the part where u get a 1up, i says u get an extra credit, but u dont! The storyline seems very interesting but it only uses jj1 diamondus and jj1 tubelectric but they were used in a good way. the eyecandy was fine. there are tubes in both tilesets! the lvls were vry good but i got stuck lots of times! the placement was very good, for both weapons and candy. i found this very good i reccomend the download but download Noka’s tilesets first, (they r not included!)
