8.7!!!!! YEEEES!!!
Thx
Thanks for your review master :-)
Good idea with top secret set. I’m now working on level 2 –
But the problem is, I want to do, that you can choose your character on every level, and I don’t wanna use Top secret for the whole episode. But I will think about it :-)
EDIT: Good idea, but it’s impossible with Froggy’s house. Well, Lori’s house is protected by some buttstomp blocks, I can do that with Jazz’ house too. Some bugs? Well, I fixed the level, it doesn’t have layer 4 tiles in the background anymore, the start menu works without problems, there is ammo and some other things. I will make a shop into it, thanks for idea.
The fixed version will be available when I uploaded the whole episode (isn’t ready yet). I am also working on level 2 now.
Also thx for your review niels. I will try to do better next time. But about the start, stuck on a morph crate??? Buttstomp it, foo! :-p
Don’t know where to go?
Read readme, I listed important things and their coordinates there. Also, the “clouds” should have been water :-P

An sp-level, reeeview.
DESIGN
There was no story, just suddenly in a dungeon without knowing what to do, it seemed to be for fun. I didn’t find it very fun to play but I didn’t get too bored when I played it.
5/10
EYECANDY
This could be done better. There is lots of tile placing-problems and eyecandy-bugs. Like in layer 6 or 5, there seemed to be palms which were floating in the air strangely. And that odd floating object which covered some gems shocked me, so just only 5.
5/10
ORIGINALITY
Basic tileset, basic music. You made your level but I see that you took quite much ideas from the dungeon dilemma level.
5/10
GAMEPLAY
This was also kinda short level, it took me about 2 minutes to complete and it were rather easy. Next level setting should have been endepis or something, cuz this wasn’t a pack.
3/10
STUFF PLACEMENT
It wasn’t also very well done. Enemies were placed quite well but there were just so less of them. And ammos had strange flocks which shouldn’t have to be.
6/10
+ OR – EXTRA POINTS
-1 No readme
-1 Not enough of difficulty-affecting settings
OVERALL: 22:5=4.4=4.5
LEVEL RANK: Questionable level
DOWNLOAD RECOMMENDATION: Try with your own permission :D
ENDING COMMENTS: You have to force some on eyecandy. You had quite much eyecandy in this, basic tileset using level, but you had a lot of tile placing-problems in the sprite layer. Also make your levels longer and yes, put em in pack, or make an episode. Make your levels originally harder and put more difficulty-settings. More enemies in hard, more carrots and pickups in easy.

Time for a review.
First impressions: A level by EvilMike of OLC and DM, which is underrated imo.
Gameplay: Very Good. This r0x, like R3ptile said. That idea of the level was so original, and the kayout was very original too. Like R3ptile also said, the level has not too many camp places. The size of the level may be quite strange, but I like it. This level doesn’t even need alot of springs. The gameplay is already very good(even without springs). The level seems quite big, and I like that too.
Conclusion gameplay: Pros: Everything.
Cons: Nothing.
Eye candy/Tileset use: Good/Very Good. Nothing really special here, but it’s quite good imo. I think the tileset is used well, and I kinda like it. There isn’t too many, but some places had nice eye candy. Others didn’t have, and that’s probably why the eye candy isn’t perfect or very good.
Conclusion eye candy/tileset use: Pros: The tileset is used well, and there are some places with nice eye candy. Cons: There could be more eye candy in some places.
Pickup placement: Very Good. I love the placement here. There is alot of ammo and there is enough in every place. There is a full energy placed in the middle of the level. There are fly carrots, which prevent you from falling I think. They’re also used for the fun I guess. And the originality. There are 3 Power-Ups, A Seeker, Toaster and Bouncy PU. The Bouncy PU is placed at the left-top of the level. There is less bouncy ammo there then Toaster ammo at the right side(with the PU too). The groups of ammo are mostly placed 5 × 2 or 6 × 2 or 7 × 2 × 3 ammo. There is also ammo on that small platforms, which you can get without jumping. The Seeker PU is placed in the centre of that two PU, where are 5 platforms. And the Seeker PU is placed on the 3rd platform of them.
Conclusion Pickup placement: Pros: Everything what needs to be good.
Cons: Nothing.
Originality: Good/Very Good. Yes, this level is very original. I give the complete 8.5 points for it. First: The excellent layout. Second: That interesting use of islands. Third: The placement of that fly carrots. Fourth: The tileset that’s used. And fifth: The music in the level.
Fun Factor: This level is very fun to play. The bases are easy to defend, but not too easy to kill the opponent after one hit. The RF PU would be nice here, but it doesn’t matter. You can kill he opponent with a RF or Bouncer than too. The full energy is placed on the ground, which prevent it from falling.
Conclusion fun factor: A very fun level.
Others: Host this: Yes.
Download: Yes.
Final Rating: 8.5.

Let’s see this level:
EYECANDY:
Mmmm. I don’t really like this eyecandy here, but it’s not really the fault of NiQ. He did the best thing with it what is possible, but the tileset SUCKS in my opinion. It’s far too bright, and the background hurts my eyes when I play the level too long. Also, there is o floor placed beneath the bases, but it looks like. I don’t like it when a base doesn’t stand on vast floor. For the rest the eyecandy is decent, not much wrong.
AMMO:
Actually not bad. It’s an original idea indeed to let the TNT do the explode things near the powerups, it’s something else then the usual EB. In total, the eyecandy is decent.
LEVEL STRUCTURE:
Maybe this is where the real problems lie. The level is a little bit claustrophobic, with narrow corridors and a lot of sucker tubes. The makes the level a bit boring, and it lets the player more watch then play. Maybe make the level more open next time.
GAMEPLAY:
I didn’t really liked the level when I played it, maybe because the annoying background is hurting my eyes, I don’t really like the sucker tube use and the music. However, the is a certain feeling when you play this level, a felling of sewers… the flavour is good.

RATINGS
————
For some reasons I can’t give this level higher then a 7.5, maybe because there a a lot of things I don’t like about it. However, the level is innovating in some ways, like the TNT PU destruction, I’ve never seen that before. Maybe some more space next time?
Score: 7.5
Download: Yes.
Host: Yes, maybe a few times or so.
eyecandy,
Some bugs and a little small space to stand.
Gameplay,
Too much sucer tubes,
too much bugs,

A dungeon level. It starts good, finishes bad. No balance of goodies no eye candy. There were some foreground and background mistakes and on the 3. layer there were tile bugs! And some of the places were look like the orijinal jj2 level “Dungeon Dilemma”
Anyway, the gameplay was fine wasn’t boring.
So, a 5.7

CTF review number 1 : Capture the sun by masterrokusho
First Impressions:
Very well. its little bit too small for a CTF level in my opinion, and you could use another tiles in this tileset too, because this tileset ( McKinley, by mirrow ) offers you much more tiles than orange ground. in my opinion, tileset was misused. balance and ammo placement was fine, but it still could be better. now, lets me continue with my review.
Eyecandy:
well.. one word: boring. you used some ground tiles, nothing else. there is no good eyecandy at all. only ground tiles, which is a bad thing.. it makes this level look dull. use more eyecandy tiles in future.
Pros:atleast there is ground.
Cons:everything else.
Rating:1.7
Tileset Use:
Heh.. like i mentioned in first section tileset was horribly misused, since tileset offers much more tiles to use than ground tiles.. i don’t like tileset use at all, because it looks dull. No more comments.
Pros:At least you used ground tiles correctly.
Cons:Everything. ;P
Rating: 1.5
Gameplay:
Could be better. there is some platforms, which makes the gameplay little bit less linear in my opinion, but this level is still horrible, no matter what.. and base placement is bad too, because there is dead end next to them. ( i hope i spelled that word right )
Pros:Some platforms.
Cons:linear gameplay no matter what..
Rating:2
Weapon Placement:
Poor.. i don’t like ammo placement at all. just some seekers near bases.. there should be more ammo and 4-2 powerups.. ammo/PU’s are needed if you want to make good CTF levels. no more comments.
Pros:some seekers..
Cons:there’s not enough ammo or powerups
Rating:1.5
Conclusion:
Poor level. could use more ammo and powerups.. and eyecandy too. no download recommedation this time, sorry. this is a 2.
Rank: poor level
Download recommedation:no.
Rating:2
EDIT 1: i forget to add rating. sorry.[This review has been edited by NiQ]
The graphics suck WHICH I COMPLETLY LOVE GUYS THIS is just oldschool and rules
The animations suck
There are spelling mistakes
there are too much from the same enemies just doing the same
Not much changes between the Lvls
Or better rating
The graphics are animated with 3 !!! cooool frames so it lets the rabbit seem to walk !! WOWFX!!
also the landscape in the level is well chosen with its GREEN background which lets it all play grass which is in my opinion again a excellent chose it seems more realistic. The idea that you have to collect ammo and have only a few lifes makes the level harder and also more realistic you almost think you are the bunny the lifes graphics are real Jazzjackrabbit graphics I first thought it would be a real Epic game!! The gameplay is amazing the levels are like a maze and you have an easy and obvious view over the level which makes it easy to move arround. And again a masterpiece of the creator is the placement of the enemies. the don’t move just to the right ,left,up,or,down NO it almost seems as if they have their own AI !!! RESPECT nice done!
I am really impressed by the this first good JJ2 RPG!!!
Besides the Storyline is a new idea where you have a new character introduced XAN (i think i even know him)
and get 49 of 50 Points because of the spelling mistakes..
oldschoololdschoololdschoololdschoololdschoololdschoololdschoololdschool
Man I love this :p and you finally build that game and realeased it.. does it mean you are now active again ? :p
HAHA this game rules oldschool.
It was so obvious that you would make it like this just 10000 enemies you can shoot :p

I gave this a 9!!

Eh?
eyecandy,
In a lvl whith that colors and that space you should remove the rain.
Gameplay,
Its a little strange for a race lvl like the plants you have to jump on
and its also too long for a race lvl.
Ammo,
quit ok

Time for a review.
First impressions: Wow, this level seems to be the worst CTF level in Blur’s opinion. And I will find out if it’s really the worst CTF level. Here I go.
Gameplay: Bad. The gameplay is really bad here. The level is so small and there are only some platforms, but there are also things with bases. At least, the level has springs, but I don’t like the placement of them. What was in this level, reminds me of DW. The level has no border around the level, and you know what happens if you don’t have. Yes, the flag bug comes if there is no border around the level. Always put borders around your levels.
Conclusion gameplay:
Pros: Level has springs and platforms
Cons: Everythin’ else.
Eye candy/Tileset use: Very bad. This is horrible, no eye candy here. Only a background and layer 4. I can say the tileset is very misused, and I dislike it.
Conclusion eye candy
Pros: There is layer 8.
Cons: Everythin’ else again.
Pickup placement: Bad. This level has ammo, and there is a full energy too, but the bad is, that you can;t get it! That’s a very bad thing here. There is at least ammo, but too less. Add more ammo and types and it will probably be okay or something around that. There are no power-ups too, like blur said, you should add 1 or 2 in a level with this size.
Conclusion Pickup placement
Pros: There is ammo.
Cons: No full energy that you can get, too less ammo, no power-ups, nothing else.
Originality: Bad/Okay. This is where the level is the best in. This level is the worst CTF level, so that’s original(jk). But, this tileset is probably used only one time before, that’s also the only good thing of it. The level looked alot like DW, too.
Conclusion originality
Pros: The tileset is used only one time before(that I know)
Cons: Level looked like DW in some places, and everythin’ else again.
Fun Factor: This level is not fun to play in. There is a boring straight way to the base, there is too many space, the layout is bad, too. The level is almost symmetrical, I forgot to say in the gameplay section. The level is also impossible to get around fast, I also forgot in the gameplay section.
Conclusion fun factor
Pros: Nothing.
Cons: Everything.
Others: This level looked horrible, and I prefer that you don’t download or host it.
Final Rating…. 2.2.
- DarkSonic of XSD and CC -.
P.S: A border is that you put tiles around the level so there is not a flag bug. I can’t really explain it.[This review has been edited by da man]

“Nice” and “small” don’t really go together.
GAMEPLAY:
First and foremost, the start positions need work. Use Multiplayer Level Start events for each team instead (0 for blue, 1 for red). The flow is the worst I’ve seen in a while; the layout is mostly a bunch of poorly placed platforms. It’s easier for Spaz players to get around than Jazz players. More springs would help a lot. I advise looking at some good CTF levels and seeing how easy it is to get around. The balance isn’t particularly bad, but the level is simplistic and ordinary and extremely dull. The level needs a border of at least 2-3 tiles to prevent the flag bug (”
EYE CANDY:
Granted I’ve only seen one other level with this set, the eye candy is atrocious. Apparently only 2 layers were used. It might have been a little better if all of the platforms used all of the proper edge tiles. More layers should have been used.
CARROT AND AMMO PLACEMENT:
I couldn’t find the warp (or whatever method I’m suppose to use) to the full energy carrot. There are no powerups, so I have nothing to say about that except maybe add a few next time. Ammo placement is only the seekers near red base and the 3 crates I can’t access. My advice would be to add ammo throughout the entire level instead of just two places.
HOST THIS OFTEN?
Never. I cannot possibly describe how much work this needs. I suggest working on battle levels before taking on making CTF levels. 2.2 is my (semi-generous) rating. This needs a next level setting as well. And try getting a beta tester next time.
Interesting choice of tileset.
GAMEPLAY:
It certainly was not what I was expecting, and that’s not necessarily a good thing. The gameplay seems to focus on a lot sucker tubes and narrow passageways throughout the level. I never really liked either, especially the narrow passageways, but it’s not as bad as it gets here. I can get around easily enough, but I think camping may become too much of an issue. I can see myself getting frustrated with the tubes. But there are a few things (well, maybe just one thing) about this level that I really like (e.g. the bases can be shot at from below with powered-up bouncers). Anyway, the layout is a tad different, but I don’t like it as much as I could.
EYE CANDY:
While the eye candy here isn’t bad, the tileset choice isn’t that great. It’s not exactly easy to make really good eye candy with this set, but it does come close. It’s a little innovative in places although distracting in others, such as with the aqua green tiles in the background. Overall, it’s nothing extraordinarily special, so it’s just slightly above average.
CARROT AND AMMO PLACEMENT:
The full energy carrot at the bottom middle is placed well enough as it is. Same goes with the ammo, but the RF powerup is questionable. What I liked a bit was that the toaster and bouncer powerups are easiest accessed with the hidden TNT. It looks like one of the most useful methods of using TNT I’ve ever seen.
HOST THIS OFTEN?
Maybe like once for a duel, although I personally wouldn’t want a duel here. Something bigger and more open would have been more enjoyable. 7.7 is what I think of this level.
