This IS the secret level music for Deserto in the JJ1 game! If you don’t beleive me, you can cheat to get to it if you reallllly can’t find the secret spot. Hint: it’s near the end of the 2nd level! I really do not think that a JJ1 song that was released eight years ago is relivant now, and it’s not all that good anyway.
Could someone please get rid of this link? It’s QUITE released, beleive me.[This review has been edited by suckatube]
It is extremely hard, and also hard to see anything. The tileset is horrible. It has absolutely no reason to be called “tombrabbit” anyway! Terrible. Terrible. Why did I play it? So I could warn those who want to download it!
a episode is 6 levels this is just one =p
Quick review here, again.
Eyecandy – Very bad
The tileset is not used correctly. Many people try making the ground out of blocks rather than just using one block for everything… that probably confused you. In other words, don’t just use the same block over and over again. ..whatever. Anyway, the background is not good at all. You could’ve put soda bubbles or something… what you have there is just a plain old layer 8 background.
Gameplay – Bad
Buggy and bad. The level is also rather small. It’s possible, at one point, to jump off the edge of the level as Spaz. It also took me a while to figure out how to beat the level. Jazz will have a hard time beating this, unless you know how to use his super speed.
Enemy placement – Bad
Way too easy.
Overall – Bad
This level is fun, but it’s way too small. Make bigger levels and I’ll give you a higher rating. Don’t be discouraged. Keep making levels.
Download reccomendation – No.
Dx: Not neccasarilly (sp?). In Doom, episodes are 9 levels. In Quake, episodes are all different amounts of levels. In JJ2, the episodes are 6 levels, except for Flashback, which has 7. Lots of people call levels episodes (like my dad).[This review has been edited by labratkid]
TECHNOIR — bathed in a choking red atmosphere, this planet has NO plant life upon it. In fact, the turtles are the only organic creatures here. They have secured their areas with tanks, missiles, and floating mines. Be very careful, it’s a war zone out there!
-Jazz1 helpfile
“Argh!” That was what I first said when I noticed this download on the list. The reason is that I wanted to make a Technoir remake! >( Well, probably it looks very unfinished or so…
First off, I must say that your tileset drawing style is something beetween Disguise and Nick Stadler. Probably because part of the tileset is made completely with PSP effects, while the other part is drawn with standard MS Paint tools. I have nothing against Paint, as long as it is used to its limits… Something I can’t see in this tileset. I especially dislike the new bird totem (UgH!) and those dragon faces (I think they’re based upon turtle heads in Marbelara… but they just don’t fit in Technoir!). And where is the “EPIC” label on the containers?! Epic roxx! Epic rulz! Epic shall not be removed from tileset created originally by their staff! :P
The masking… Well, I got stuck once in the example level by simply going forward. That’s bad. Points down for that. There are some mask infos, almost all are just for levelmaking support, but there are a few interesting ones on the bottom of tileset.
The worst thing in NOKA’s remake is that IT ISN’T TECHNOIR. Where’s that war zone? Here we have just some sort of pink city with a few containers and pipes. What the heck is it? Certainly not Technoir. Even the sky is purple. The two palette mofifies do look good, but once again they just can’t be Technoir. While Nick was able to play a bit with his remakes (for example, the hi-fi background in new Tubelectric) without a harm, here we have an example of over-doing. Better luck next time, NOKA. It’s a good tileset, but it just doesn’t have enough in common with Technoir.
Ok, I will review this pack, because I love it.
‘BloodBunny’s Lair’
Gameplay: Very Good. I cant say a lot about it, only that it r0x.
Eye candy: Good/Very Good. Not really great eye candy, but I liked it.
Pickup placement: Very Good. Also, very good. The ammo placement was great, there could be less carrots, but 3 PU is good enough.
Rating: 8.7.
‘Psych Major’
Gameplay: Good/Very Good. It’s not perfect, but its over decent.
Eye Candy: Good/Very Good. This level has some strange eye candy, but it looks good IMO.
Pickup placement: Good/Very Good. This is also nice, but I’ve seen better. The seeker PU is hard to get, as R3p said, but sometimes it’s good that it’s hard to get a PU.
Rating: 8.
‘Dirty Laundry’
Gameplay: Very Good. Yes, excellent gameplay here too, it’s fun and original.
Eye Candy: Very Good. This level has a lot of eye candy, and it just r0x.
Pickup placement: Good/Very Good. this is also nice, but too many carrots in this level. PU placement was again nice, and the ammo too.
Rating: 8.2
‘Swingin Jazz’
Gameplay: Good/Very Good. This is a small level, but the gameplay is very good for a small one. This level is also fun to play and original.
Eye Candy: Good/Very Good. This isn’t spectacular, but it’s nice.
Pickup placement: Good/Very Good. This is also nice, but again, not perfect. There are 2 carrots and 3 PU, and that’s quite nice I think. The other ammo was again good placed.
Rating: 7.7
Host this levels: Yes, BBlair and Dirty Laundry are good enough to host often.
Download: of course.
Well, I think that I have to give this pack a 8.2, but, because it’s a pack and I’m nice, here is a 8.7.
Edit: BBlair is my favourite level now, I changed the rating of it to 8.7. It doesn’t change the rating, though.

This level… it sux. And it’s not assault, by the way.
EYECANDY: 2.3
The worst thing in the level. There is nothing in layer 8 at all and you apparently don’t know how to make animations. I would give eyecandy a 1 if there was no layer 5,6,7 eyecandy. OmG.
GAMEPLAY: 2.2
No borders around the place. The FLAG BUG will happen. Sooner or later. ALWAYS PUT A BORDER AROUND THE LEVEL. ANY wall tile will fit. The fullhealth carrot is something like hidden. One-tile passage way with a warp. Yay. This suxes.
AMMO PLACEMENT: 1.5 (+0.5)
Oh. You did not put any seekers in this level. It rises the +0.5, but it won’t really help because the rating is already down. This level has one powerup and one ammo crate. Some kind of pepperspray and electro blaster. That’s pretty much all. So the 1.5 +0.5 is in here. And with more, there is no ammo at all near the red base. Ohhhhhh.
FUN FACTOR: 1.2
The level is so boring. SO BORING. SOOOO BOOOORIIINNNGGG. You can’t even use the level in any laggy server. So any 56K’ers will have their server just as buggy as it can go. No 56K’er can host it without having other players the NO-LAYER8 thing that happens in single player. No.
DOWNLOAD?: NEVER!! NEVER EVER.
HOST?: NNNNNNNOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
OVERALL: 1.7 (+0.5)[This review has been edited by the WINNER]
Ok, I didn’t like to review this level at first, but I thought: why shouldnt I? It’s a CTF level.
First Impressions: A first CTF level by SkulL[TF], which uses ET’s Planet.
Gameplay: Bad. The level is small, and there is only one way in the level. There are also too little openings, by example to get the Full Energy. Also, no springs, one ways or other events that help the gameplay.
Eye Candy: Bad. This is bad, but not very bad. There is no background, though. I thought there was but I saw it later. There are some things in layer 5, 6 and 7, but it looks strange. There are almost no things in the sprite layer, which makes it bad.
Pickup placement: Bad. This is also bad, although there is something tried in the level. It wasnt really good, but at least, the RF PU is in the middle. The Full Energy is also there, in a small path is a warp, where you need to go in and then you will be at the Full Energy. That is quite bad.
Others: Well, there was a flag bug and there also were alot of bugs.
Download: no.
Host: No.
I think of a 2.7 here.
Let’s see… Skulls first CTF
EYECANDY:
Bad. Actually no fun. Weird backgroudn are used and no eyecandy in layers 5 and 3. No foreground is used, and the level has a bored sprite layer.
AMMO:
Bad ammo placement. About three types of guns are spread among the level, and the only interesting one is the RF, wich has a powerup. Unlogical placement, just one PU. The carrot is somehwere in a hard-to-reach block up in the level.
LEVEL STRUCTURE:
Nothing good to say here. There is only one staright path in the level, with a warp to the base in it. Just one secret: a warop to the carrot, which is hard to reach.
GAMEPLAY:
Frightening. It’s frustrating to move around the level, because you can’t easily move around. Secrets are hard to reach, no good gameplay.

Um, ok, I rarely review battle levels, and it’s been a while since i reviewed anything, but Skullfish asked to review this.
Eyecandy: way too basic. Like reptile said, just layer 4 and 8. Try making use of layers 6 and 7 for a start, the default single player levels are a good thing to learn this from. It’ll make levels look way better. The only good thing here is that the tiles actually fit together.
Gameplay: can use lots of improvement. Dead ends on both the left and right side of the level, try to avoid those. It’s possible to get stuck in the bottom right corner of the level. The ammo placement is just plain bad: only a few electroblasters and lots of powerups. Good levels usually don’t have more than 3 powerups, and have way more regular ammo. Try spreading these evenly over the level. Try not to make rooms that can only be accessed and left by using warps either. This rarely leads to nice gameplay.
Other: this level uses a custom tileset, you should include it in the download.
Download recommendation: sorry, no. This still needs lots of work.
Include tileset Thanks alot!
Level: Stimky Flag

EYECANDY:
Quite good. You used the correct tiles and good background/foreground layers. Correct, except the one-way sewers that are frustrating (you can’t buttstomp them)
AMMO:
Good placement, no seeker powerup, quite good. Ammo is placed good, not too much, not too less. Enough powerups.
LEVEL STRUCTURE:
Reasonable. The base placement looks like Zaitox, except the fact that you cant see the bases in one view. Bases are underground, and you have to get upperground to get to them. Quite original.
GAMEPLAY:
Reasonable/good. Sometimes a little bit frustrating, if you go next to a wall you might stick to it. Advice: Sta in air. Also some important passages you can’t see.

Ok, I am the first reviewer I think.
First impressions: This is a level by Satan[si], and it is his first CTF level. Let’s review it, shall we?
Gameplay: Good. The gameplay is good, but it’s nothing special. There are some springs and one ways, also some vines which is good enough to make the gameplay average. The level is almost symmetrical, but some places were a bit different.
Eye Candy: Good/Very Good. The eye candy is nice, there are maybe some places that lack alot of eye candy, but I can say I like the eye candy here.
Pickup placement: Good/Very Good. This is also nice, there was good ammo placed in small groups. That’s quite nice, I think. There are 3 Power-Ups, and I think they are nice placed. The RF PU is in the center, with a Full Energy above it. The Bouncy PU is at the left side, and there is a Toaster PU at the right side. This is quite nice. There is enough ammo in the level, so it is nice.
Others:
Host this: sometimes.
Download: sure.
My rating is a 7.5. Good work, Satan, and it’s a nice first CTF level.
very usefull if you like demo`s if you don`t it is stupid.
Unfortunately, I think this level is overrated. Read my review below to find out why:
The eyecandy? There isn’t really anything special about it. It is perhaps slightly above average, but not really enough to make much of a difference. However, I can tell a lot of effort was put into it.
The gameplay was alright I guess. It was very creative in some spots. But the level is very big for a Ground Force level, perhaps a little too big. I was getting a vast amount of lag playing this level. Nethertheless, it was still alright I guess.
The Placement was fairly average. I know this may sound a little weird, but sometimes, placing things in weird positions doesn’t look very appealing to the eye. I know it doesn’t have anything to do with the eyecandy, but I just thought I would like to state that. The level was kinda confusing at times.
This level wasn’t that original. It still reminds me a lot of BlurredD’s levels. But maybe it’s just me, so I the originality won’t affect this level’s ratings at all.
Overall, this level was a good level, but there is still room for improving. I’m not saying it’s a bad level at all, my review mainly states why I think this level was overrated. Most of the good things about this level are listed in the other reviews for this level. Sorry, Dx.
