Edit: OK, works now.
Simply amazing. I never thought that a JJ1 level editor was even possible, but this thing is even more powerful than JCS. The possibilities are seemingly endless. If you have JJ1, get this. Period.[This review has been edited by Black Ninja]
well its difficult to rate cause none of the programms work. when clicking on it: the file“OLEAUT32.DLL“is out of date. This program requiers a newer verison.
That explains the most of it
:-(
Crap.. I forgot to put in a lot of thankyous. In order of time:
Haze: Provided me with a file which began my whole learning of the JJ1 file formats (still going on of course).
Benjamin Mathews: Created the file(s) which Haze provided me with. It contained the basics of RLE, which wasn’t complete, but got me going.
Newspaz: Joined early on and was an awesome go-to guy whenever I needed something done or looked into or whatever.
Monolith: In a post of Newspaz’s, he mentioned you’d guessed that the tiles were stored one tile wide. You were right. ;)
Link, and others: Took a look into the project in the early stages, but were unfortunately not really ready to help out as much as the other people.
AtomicFeline: AWESOME. This guy is crazy.. he works too hard. He made the program in VB with a bit of help from everyone else.. He has done insane amounts of research as well. This project would be going on for another year to get this far without him.
ToxicBunny: Joined only recently, but still figured out some stuff and is still figurING out some stuff.
Everyone who believed in the project! This probably means you!

Well, I DID post a review noting that reviewers don’t hang about (Radium posted almost as soon as it went up).
However, the reviews seem to have mysteriously disappeared.
Trust me, people. Download this. It’s great. Even if you don’t make anything serious with it, it’s fun to mess around with.
WHEE :D
GO YOU =)[This review has been edited by Unhit]
Easy. JCS ’94 has that option because each level for the same worlds usually has the same maskings. Just take from any of the levels. However, YOU extract the masks from the levels. READ THE DOCUMENTATION. There are many things in there to help you make levels easier. I also started making a level, and thus changed JCS ’94 a bit to get rid of some annoying things. A new upload is almost definate.
It depends on the level… try hitting low… like animation zero or 1. Those are usually jazz animations… but as I said, it really matters. You can have a jazz enemy, and I’ve done it before. Explore… this is what this project is about.
You have to overwrite an old one. Make sure your level has the same name as the level from who’s animation file you injected and uses the same tileset. Back up your jj1 folder before you do this.
Yes it does. Tests show that the level format changed from version to version. I KNOW JCS 94 will work with all 9 episodes (jazzcd) , but I’m not sure about episodes 1 – 6. I need someone to tell me if it works with that or not.
I can’t because JJ1 doesn’t have commandline parameters to run a level off the bat.
For those of you who forgot all about this editor, I wish to inform you that sometime in mid 2004, I plan to make a level that will (most likely) be very bad, but will hopefully spark some interest in JJ1 levelmaking.

I tried to print this and It did not work. I tried printing the Puzzle and then on another peice of paper the Questions. This did not work. It cut everything off. I can not even do this. =(
No offense Dany but this lvl is not good. Or maybe I am not as Smart a einstein. Dunno. I can not even get through the FIRST part. =( This is a Level that Geniuses could play and do well. But since it is Original I will give it a 2.

This tileset does not have enough tiles and the tiles that ARE there are not Good at all. I do not think Anyone could make a good hotel out of this. It would emmbarras anyone to try. But I can not find many Hotel tilesets around so I give it a 2.
how do I use this?
I think its working…I hope soo!
This misses the irritating Jazztool thing, that when you retrieve info about a game… blabla, you know what I mean.
But you can’t see what changes if you change your color.
So, I don’t know if this is enough to really be an improvement considering the other programs out there. (XJJ, JazzTool, etc.)

You notice that Danyjel said nothing but bad things about the level, then said “congradulations” and gave it an eight?
Too small :( If you are going to make such a small level, you should make up for the small factor with outstanding, BlurredD quality eyecandy, awesome gameplay, excellent ammo placement, and fun flow. This has neither any of those things.
Mmm, pretty good levels. The last one is disgusting and it doesn’t even have a background, and the second to last one has no exit. The first two are good, though.
