Oh, and now I at last see that I havent rated this tileset yet so let’s begin.

TILE AMOUNT
Yes there’s just enough them, I have nothing else to say for this section.
10/10

GRAPHICS
Well seems to be good too, this will be a good link to the Realization section.
9/10

TILE LINKING
Well, I saw few problems with this. Paths and walls are okay but houses.
9/10

ANIM TILES, SPIKES, ETC.
Should be a little more. It seems that there is not much extra or them.
8/10

REALIZATION
Yes! This is perfect. I feel that i’m in the egypt by this kind of tileset.
10/10

+ OR – EXTRA POINTS

3+ Good Example levels
1+ README!
1- Hard to use

OVERALL 9.8 = 9.7
TILESET RANK: Very good tileset
DOWNLOAD RECOMMENDATION: Must have!!!!!!!!

ENDING COMMENTS:
WOW! Amazing tileset from you Agama, again. Top four tilesets are also your work. Good job! Keep going!

Cool, dude.

Good Stuff:
- easy to use
- good use of background layers
- a few unique blips to put in

Bad Stuff:
- overly simplistic (too much repetition)
- eye candy (texture would help it a lot)

Not bad for your 3rd tileset! Don’t be afraid to put something original in it to spice it up.

This is a surprisingly good tileset. It looks a lot like many of Skulg’s tilesets (for example, Death Metal, and Lava Lamp). It’s a very simple and small tileset with minimal animations, but so were most of Skulg’s. I would rate this higher if you put in some animations besides that alien thing.
Download reccomendation for level building n00bs who want their levels to look nice, and not have a hard time building them.

Well, the file is unprotected (I dont really care for passwording my levels anymore) so if you can figure out any problems. Tell me.

Edit: Ick, I found some nasty bugs I accidentally left in. Oh well, this is version 1 anyway =)[This review has been edited by Bartman]

Now there’s a generalization, labrat.

Anyway, I DO have the tileset. Is this a good thing? Probably not.

Hmmm. This seems to be a “update after hosting” hotel. What is the point of uploading these to J2O, anyway? The only way you can really play them is if the host hosts it, as only he/she updates the level.

EYECANDY: The author does not use a very good looking Hotel tileset, and as you might expect, the level does not end up looking very good. Add this to the notable lack of any attempt to make actual eyecandy, the annoying overuse of checkerboard tiles, and the fact everything’s in dutch (or something), and you don’t end up very good.
Pros: Few.
Cons: Little quality.
Rating: 2.0

MANUEVERABILITY: The level has a fairly simple design, hampered by the lack of One Way/Vine events on the elevators. As a result, it takes forever to really get anywhere.
Pros: No.
Cons: Yes.
Rating: 1.2

GAMEPLAY/DESIGN: The design is aggravatingly simple. The room sector, held together with a few elevators, a small walk to the right, and you find the shop. And that’s the entire level. As for gameplay, it’s rather poor, mainly because of the coins. They are everywhere, and all gold, especially in the INS area, so forget any idea of taking a while to save up for something.
Pros: No.
Cons Yes.:
Rating: 1.0

ORIGINALITY: Originality? Where? There is nothing new about this level, and I’m kind of glad, as the fewer reasons to download this, the better.
Rating: 1.0

OVERALL: This level is so not good is ends up being bad. In the way of quality, it fails. And of course it doesn’t include the tileset.
Pros: No.
Cons: Yes.
Rating: 1.5

First impressions count. Generally if a level doesn’t impress me after 15 minutes, I don’t bother with the rest.

I suppose it depends on what you consider the start… but let’s just say I made an exception for this pack because others rate it so highly.

The story intro is pretty redundant as it is basically the story of the original game and it is even more redundant because it doesn’t seem to have any meaning in relation to the events in and flow of the levels and story in general doesn’t appear to play ANY part in the levels themselves to begin with.

The first actual level starts well with an interesting bit where you’re dropped in a cell where after a few seconds the floor collapses and you fall onto spikes, barely making your escape by shooting through a wall.

However, it’s downhill from there. The rest of the episode seems to be “run, shoot the baddies, run some more, jump, shoot more baddies… etc”. Now some people seem to like this very much but I don’t find it interesting. It’s not quite boring, but it’s also not particularly exciting. If I wanted more of this I’d just replay Jazz. I found myself skipping ahead with jjnext a lot to see if there were any original bits in later levels… I did find some but not enough to outweigh the general standard okayishness of the rest.

Music is good, eyecandy is mostly good, though a bit empty in places and yes, the install and readme are nice and fancy.

The fortress was more fun but it went way overboard with endless generic triggers, locks and doors and no apparent progression.

Then there’s the multiplay levels. I’m not sure it’s a good idea to combine single- and multiplay levels in one pack but anyway… they all seem decent enough.

On the whole a well-made pack that’s worth the download but not the pack to end all packs…

Hey, this is not a beta. Also, this is a demo – but not a demo as in a beta. A demonstration demonstrating some advanced features of JCS that are unused. It shows how having little enemies and lots of hazards can make a hard level. This level is harder than most, actually. Review will come later, I have to get on the bus soon >.<[This review has been edited by labratkid]

I doubt this is the best, since it doesn’t use Hotel Dream or True Rabbit Hotel… it won’t look nice if it doesn’t use them. Anyway, upload the tileset so I can have a look, anyway, since I review just about everything.

Very nice program Eagle!
Seekerhole bug was so annoying… but no longer now. Download it, you wont be sorry! It’s even XP compatibile!
Just one thing, it should have an autolauncher (i have to start 6 programs before launching JJ2 _), that’s why it gets ONLY 9.[This review has been edited by Cloud TSF]

Good eyecandy, and the theme is good too. The levels are pretty short. This could be better.

Trafton, THIS IS THE RATING IT DESERVES!
Just so you know. I really think it’s that good. I’ll lower it to 8.2, okay? I don’t rate Cazz’s levels higher just she’s my sister.

(In that case, you need to reevaluate your rating system. The reinitialization of an offense is intolerable. You receive a warning for this offense in addition to the obvious rating removal. -Trafton)[This review has been edited by Trafton AT]

Yikes, this is kinda scary.

Good Stuff:
- detailed in the copied parts
- pretty easy to use what’s there

Bad Stuff:
- a few misaligned pieces in the top blocks
- colors are extremely limited (browns)
- palette doesn’t match very well (if you want to use that much brown, choose more brown tones/shades/tints in your palette)
- extremely incomplete (vines, hurt, warps, etc…)
- accidentally clear parts (check inclines)
- auto-masking isn’t really a good idea

Sorry, dude, but you should look at a few others and take your time to make a nice set.
