This isn’t too good, but since it’s your first level and all, I’ll rate easier. My first levels were this quality, so don’t feel bad. This is just a room with a bunch of platforms sticking out of the walls with powerups in them. The eyecandy is also rather bad.

I would’ve given this a 2.0, but I’ll go easy on ya and say 3.5. This level was probably made in 10 minutes, and you should never do so – all good levels take at least a day if you are fast. My levels normally take me 2 days of work, and I work just about all day on them, if I’m not in school. The good levels, like by Evil Mike, etc., are made in hours, and hours of work. I remember one of Evil Mike’s levels took him 36 hours spread across a whole month. So, spend a little more time, and try again.[This review has been edited by labratkid]

“Made for: Blade”? Now I gotta review this one :D

Disguise’s new Mega Megatropolis is amazing. I think this tileset is actually the first tileset ever made that takes advantage of TSF’s huge tile limit. Some other people could have made 5000 tiles full of crap but when we are talking about Disguise, it’s 5000 blocks full of quality. Since this is categorized as a tileset, I won’t include the example level in my rating.

I recognize many Disguise’s earlier productions from this tileset. Nature’s Ruins, Metal Mania, Townsville, Africa… all in one. I consider those tilesets as the best tilesets Disguise has ever made, and now he has combined them all to this colossal tileset. All hail Disguise :)

The tileset has everything, especially different platforms where to walk. Grass, planks, rail roads, roads, all kinds of indoor tiles… Disguise has included all essential tiles also. Sucker tubes (once again that Disguise style! :D), vines and poles. Of course there are a lot of tiles for layers 5-7. And the best: I see eye-candy everywhere. Cars, plants, rocks, road signs (my name can be written with those :), clocks… I liked a lot the trains. It was brilliant idea to allow one to go inside the train cabins.

Despite of everything, I found some little mistakes (very very small). The biggest one was a perspective error between the chimney and a building roof. I looked a bit funny, but didn’t spoil my amazement with this master piece :) Also I think that the warp background could have been better. It doesn’t look like clouds… I would have liked something smoother.

Before I go do something else, I must say that this is absolutely the best tileset of Disguise (hmm… I think I said that before?). It is beautiful, it is large, and it is not hard to use. And there are lots of “Blade”-signs! :D I must make a level using this tileset…:) Summary: Mega Megatropolis is one heck of a tileset.

…this is my longest review ever, but Disguise deserved it :)[This review has been edited by Blade]

Ok, a first set. Always fun to see that…

Inventory:
There’s some xtra stuff, such as blocks, spikes I think, vines,… And some eyecandy for layer 4 and 5-7.

Graphics: Plain bad. But at first graphics hardly ever turn out well.

Ease of use: This is very easy to use, and not to big. Good!

Competition/Originality(doesn’t count in rating): In my list of favorite nature tileset, this one would probably end up somewhere at the bottom, to say things clearly. There’s nothing original about the set. But originality isn’t the most important thing with me…

What it all looks like: It doesn’t look that great, actually. It’s not “jazzy” either(that means it doesn’t really fit the game).

Overall: nice try, but didn’t reach the average. Keep making sets, this one’s promissing.

No download reccommandation.

I give 3.

Well, here at long last rating. I haven’t rated anything at here for long time because my computer went broken. But now I have new, so I installed JJ2 on my comp, played it through and came here again to download, play and rate levels. But I didn’t find the TSF CD so no TSF levels anymore :(! Sad thing but now Even more can play my levels because I make them with 1.23. But now on to the rating:

Trafton and Violet, why those extraextraextraextrahuge reviews? Could someone read those? Well, I have cut off some acts of my ratings. But now let’s begin:

DESIGN
Well this doesn´t have a story like ya, Spaztic, said in the rdm.file that this is just for fun. I anyway like of the acts, so an 8.
8/10

EYECANDY
This is quite good with extra effects too, but I found few bugs.
9/10

GAMEPLAY
Nice puzzles, and levels are enough long.
9/10

DIFFICULTY
I don’t even know that does this have any difficulty options. The levels are quite difficult even on easy, so I can imagine how difficult this is on hard, if this has difficult settings. Seems that this pack is meant to quite experienced players.
6/10

ICNLUDING
Good rdm.file included. I liked the school-tileset did ya make that?
Bad that you didn’t include every levels on that pack. No next level after Mines of moria, and that level was quite annoying, walking in the mazes, duh.
5/10

PICKUP AND ENEMY PLACEMENT
Well placed pikups, but strangely placed enemies.
7/10

+ or – extra points.

4+ Good effects, wow!
1- Places to get stuck
1+ Good music choice

OVERALL 8
Level rank: Good level
Download recommendation: yes

ENDING COMMENTS:
So, I don’t know then. Maybe I didn’t like your level so much than the others. Or then I just see too much errors or something in your levels.
But 8 means a good level anyway. Seems that you have skill on level making too. Keep going!

Yeah, Waz is right. I am a CRAPPY artist, and I work in paint, yet one of my tilesets got a 7. Say, an amazing (disguise-quality) tileset using paint came out, and you gave it a 5! That, I say, is unfair.

I have no intentions of downloading this, however. My list of tilesets is too large as it is.[This review has been edited by RSPSS FR]

Labratkid: “Never in my life will I give a tileset made with MS Paint over a 5.0. I refuse to, because they just come out looking bad.”
So, you never rate paint tilesets above 5? All my tilesets use paint, and none of them ever got lower than an average rating of 6(I even think my WORST tileset got 6.6). It’s not that hard to get things right with paint. Just check out my sets, they all use Paint, as I said. And I want you to take back what you said about paint sets, cuz you were wrong.
And using the “made with Paint” and “this is TSF” arguments as cons is just childish and unfair. Not evryone can aford something better than paint. And not evryone knows you can send a set to someone to let him compile it.

Ok, I might rate this stuff later, I didn’t even download it yet. I just saw Labratkids review, and I really wanted to say the things I wrote above.

Now for the tileset:

I’m sorry to say this, but this is probably the worst Paint tileset I’ve seen. Keep trying though, you will get it some day. I’m not gonna give a rating. It would seriously damage you’re average rating. But I know how people often struggle with Paint, but it’s possible to get good things out of it. Check out my article about making tilesets. There’s a hint for a better palette. My sets use paint to. And they’re almost all above average, and that might encourage you.[This review has been edited by Waz]

4.7

This tileset is better than a lot of tilesets made with paint. It actually shows effort. 5.0 is a good rating (see the first review) but 2.5 is a little too low for this, considering it shows effort.

Graphics…
Pros
1.) Nice colors.
2.) The brick tiles look kind of nice.
3.) The rocks with arrows look nice.
4.) The sign doesn’t look half bad.
Cons
1.) Made with paint.
2.) Simple, textureless tiles, no real background except for a solid, ugly dark green tile.
3.) Other stuff.
4.) If you choose to use that green tile as the backgroud, you won’t be able to see any trees or grass, so you’re best off using the uglier purple background tile.

Animation…
Pros
1.) There is one animating tile, which is a hotel style vine. After testing it, I found that it works smoothly.
2.) There are some destructable things, like * blocks and ! blocks. There is also a sign that could be made shootable.
Cons
1.) Not much animation…
2.) You shouldn’t really make the vines like that unless it’s in a hotel. But, they are there, so it’s good.

Mask…
Pros
1.) Not a bad mask.
2.) It’s not automasked. Yipee!
3.) The trees are unmasked, except for the very top, Diamondus style.
Cons
1.) Nothing really specially here.
2.) The rock tiles are unmasked. They should’ve been masked so you could use them as a wall, don’t you think?
3.) You should’ve had the tree mask look just like the top of the regular tree, rather than redoing it, because it looks kind of funny. Nothing major here, though.

Colors…
Pros
1.) No.
Cons
1.) If you use the green background, you can’t see any trees or grass.
2.) If you choose the purple background, you can’t see any shootable blocks, or purple balls / squares.
3.) More.

Overall…
Pros
1.) Shows effort.
2.) Not terrible.
3.) Decent mask.
4.) Not auto-masked.
Cons
1.) It works with only TSF. Make all small tiles 1.23 compatible. The only reason you should EVER make a tileset 1.24 only is either because you don’t like 1.23 people for some reason, or the tileset is huge (like Mega Megatropolis, or whatever it was called… Disguise’s newest, and final tileset). That one is over 1,000 tiles, so he HAD to make it with 1.24 or else it would throw an error. This tileset is very small, so you should’ve made it with 1.23.
2.) Bad colors.
3.) Rather bad graphics.
4.) Not much animation.
5.) Made with paint.
6.) Awful looking background that makes some tiles un-seeable (is that a word? =P)
7.) More.

This isn’t really worth the download, all though it’s probably the best MS Paint tileset I’ve come across in my days on J2O and JJ2.

Here I go!

And yet another MS paint tileset. This tileset consists of a few platforms in 6 geometrical forms (=O), some trees, grass, spikes, blocks and some stuff I don’t recognize. The colors don’t fit together. None of the objects are shaded, and the tileset really looks like if it’s your very first tileset. Keep on trying :P

Quotentia, I suggest you to download PSP (evaluation version ;) and make your next tileset with that program. Also look at JCSref or Disguise’s tileset site to learn a few basic things. Also try to be original; this set is in no way different from other first tilesets uploaded here; those sets also include circles in the colors you used.

As I said, keep on trying.
