Its a reasonable level, but theres really nothing to warrant the high rating its received above. A fair attempts been made with the eye-candy but its not spectacular. The layout is quite boring, but its simple…ness, means it could probably be host to some good battles. I liked the background.
Average is the best word to describe this. Keep trying, maybe just a bit more time spent on the next effort will result in a good level.
Definately one of the better Disguise tilesets out there. I think you could’ve made the set of (destruct) blocks a bit more original though. The least you could have done is making them in different colors.
Also I think you shouldn’t force people that if they make a level with this tileset, they have to put your name in it (I dunno if that was a joke or not). I like the special blue and red tiles.[This review has been edited by CraccoBoy]

When I was betatesting this, I said I’ll give it 8.7 or 9. And I picked 9.
The level is for battle mode, as you can see, and my favorite battle levels are the ones that are small and have plenty of freespace. This level is just like. Especially that one of the power-upable weapons is toaster, great for jump ‘n kill frenzy.
Ammo is placed very well as for my taste. You won’t lose all rounds too quick, but you also won’t come to 50 bullets so fast. Carrots are also placed good. No problems with the goodies.
Level is fairly simple, but that’s why it’s hardly playable. There aren’t any semi-missions or crates. No hard thinking. Just pure fun.
Eyecandy is nice like for this tileset. There are some good layer 3 tricks and graves are standing in the right places.
If I like the evel so much, why I won’t give it a 10? You see that it doesn’t have any bad sides for me. Well, not exactly. It doesn’t have noticable bugs. As I said before, the level is fairly simple. It’s just another battle level. Even if I like simple levels (except extremally simple) there are plenty people which like more complicated gameplay. Also some freaks will surely say that ammo is placed very lazy (like this – :::). I don’t say this is something bad for me. But I know that my likes are other than other player’s likes (every life is other, etc.) and I have to keep to 9. But reccomend to download this level. The more players play it, the bigger fun there is (I think I said something stupid, lots of players makes fun in almost every level!).
BAD You dont have to be smart to play this level…
Shall I start with the good or the bad points? Bad points is better for my depresion:
Bad Points
1. The music is the music for Blade’s Forest tileset. So, don’t use it for this.
2. The stars fall too quick, I think.
3. Sometimes it needs a spring, let levels betatest!
4. The weapon placement isn’t so good: Sometimes you get too many in one time.
Good Points
1. Eyecandy is really well done!
2. Gameplay is great.
3. I don’t know why, but i like the great falls down and up etc. They just rule wich makes this nice.
Overall a nice level, not so nice, just a orginal level and better than i thought.
Download reccommadation.
Edit: @Blackraptor: Do you have forest? Look at ForestBattle1 and you see Splanet. Heheh.[This review has been edited by Taz]
Pavlik, this tileset, as the author said, is supposed to be small… Doing as much as possible with only 20 tiles.
Tiles with name of author:-could have been one tile instead of two.
Graphics:-good indead.
Xtra stuff:-hook, vine, 4 blocks.
Eyecandy:-only three tiles.
Background:-only layer 8.
Goal achieved.
No special download reccommandation.
A 6.5.

Shen, those 2 other backgrounds aren’t ment to work as textured, they’re made for a moving background (gives the effect of moving clouds, strong winds).
I suppose u haven’t read my description : it is supposed to be a small tileset.
To make tilesets in 256 colors:
1-under JCS : copie Jazz2 palette under creating a tileset minimanuel.
2-quit JCS
3-put your pc in 256 colors
4-open a bitmap file and put it in a 256 color format(I believe it’s 8bit)
5-paste the Jazz2 palette
6-put your pc back into 16bit or 32bit
This is one of CB’s nicest tileset, a christmas one, a bit late, but nice. It looks like a cartoon, a very other style than Agama or Disguise or Blade or whatever.
It is a very nice tileset, the pallete (Lol, Violet) is lol because you look like santa, the weapons look nice too, but especially the seekers. They are blue-green. Heheh.
Im too busy too scribble a long review, this is all what i can say now. Download re-co-mo-da-ti-on. Whatever.
Just for what it’s worth, the modified palette colors are intentional, as he told me to do them.
Hmmm….lets start out with the bad points.
The tileset looks to cartoonish and hand drawn, doesnt look very “real” like ET’s, Agama’s or Disguise’s sets. (There are others who make “real looking” sets, but im not going to list you all). Also, the color is a bit screwed when you play. (Jazz is red and the ammo color has turned strange) Some tiles also dont look to good. The good points: The tileset has some very nice christmas and hannukah like tiles. Some of it is drawn very well and gives you a warm welcoming feeling :). It has the needed tiles to make a good level. It also has presents and snowmen and all those holiday things. There are many things im leaving out, but my overall point is that it has good and nice looking tiles which make it above average. It has the needed blocks which boost up the rating. The color is kinda weird which lowers the rating. Its also too cartoonish looking to get higher than a 9, and some tiles are unimportant. But other than that, its still a great tileset and a good addition to any tileset collector’s folder. This tileset is really cool, but however, the snow looks flat, too flat, the hole tileset looks flat. Overall, I think this is a great tileset, and I recom you download it.
Heh… a Christmas tileset. And not a bad one at that :) like his Compotition entry with more.
This is a great tileset. The tiles are simple, but look great. It’s got everything a Christmas tileset should have: christmas trees, dressed-up snowmen… ‘Jesus was here’ text… plus all the types of destructable scenery, sucker tubes and vines… Yeah. It’s basically snowy mountains with some christmas stuff in.
The eye-candy is good. For example, in the mountains at the background you can see trees growing alone and in forests. Also, there are three types of layer 8 parallax backgrounds – a red one, and a blue and white ones that don’t work too well. There’s layer 7 and 6 stuff as well, and even rain for layer 1 if you need it. Some other stuff includes letters and numbers, a raising green thing, bulbs and lights and stuff, and coloured zones.
The example level is weird. It’s a battle, with two basic ‘zones’, left and right. Still, it shows what you can do with the tileset, and other than its ‘weirdness’ (I can’t think of any other way to describe it) it’s fine.
Overall it gets a 9/10. Download recommendation? Yep :)
Edit: Forgot to rate it. Aren’t I silly.[This review has been edited by Shen]
Trafton has covered most of the points here (as usual :P)…
The background is pretty good. It would be nice if you could mix and match the background tiles to make some sort of spaceship or something.
The foreground part of the tileset is mainly ice, with it being Frozen Planet and stuff. The ice actually looks quite nice – there are floor and wall tiles, and corner tiles. I was slightly annoyed by the lack of the inside corner tiles to make rooms with.
I know you said not to say that it needs this or that… but maybe that’s why all the reviews have been so short. There is a complete lack of anything except the foreground ice tiles. Add some more stuff. You’re getting there, what’s in the tileset already is good and it has great potential – but it just needs some more stuff.
Also the example level is weird – you can drop to the bottom easily, and there’s a load of little bits of level floating around the place. This needs work.
Overall it gets a 2 and no download recommendation…yet. Keep at it.
I must say it’s alot better than I expected, great use of tileset.
But the music is bad, honestly, I don’t like it. There’s a few places where the eyecandy lags, there’s tiles in the tiles that haven’t been used, and the layer background could have been better done than “falling” stars all the time.
Overall, I think this is a nice remake, and you should download it.
This is an awseome level.
1-nice tileset
2-nice and challenging
3-cool eyecandy
4-it’s just awesome
keep up the good work?
i would of liked it more if there was more music in the levels.
Great i say
