WOW
This conversion, its as good as violets, if not better. It has all the necessary tiles, the lightning and the devan reflection work perfectly, the rain is so cool, and there is blocks, tubes and things like that included as well. AND THERE IS EVEN A TEXTURED BACKROUND. This is the best medivo conversion ive ever seen, although i am rating it .5 points higher than i should because i feel sorry for Cell and others when their conversions get underated. Here you go Cell, you deserve this.
As you know, as your remixing nemesis, I can’t rate this. But otherwise, I didn’t really like this.
The electricity at the beginning wasn’t that good, and neither was that weird instrument that rapidly increased it’s pitch.
It seems to be going well after that, until you get that hum thing at a high pitch where- AUGHH!!!!!! THAT STUPID THINGY!!! I don’t know what to call it, but I hate it.
After that, the song just brings itself to a close.
All in all, this isn’t the greatest remix.
Wouldn’t it be nice if it was easier to make great remixes like your Technoir remix?
Hmm. what to say..well, not much. but it is a very, very good tileset. Not any obvious flaws. I did notice, as someone that i forgot the name of said, there is no…..like……water….but its still a wonderfully done tileset.
get it or you’re a foo.
To simple, the ground composed of mostly rocks, and the backround is strange and ok, it iss more easy to use. Definately not one of disguise’s best, but a well effort and a good tileset overall. I liked the original mountain trip better though, i think.
Hm…..The backround eyecandy is good, a bit cartoonish, but i like all the different mountains which u include in a lot of your tilesets. The backround cannot be warp, and is too cartoonish
The tiles are all cool. You can make multiple scenario’s with this tileset, which includes deserts, semi-rainforests, lowlands and other stuff like that.
The thing that wasnt as good was the user friendly. It takes a while to get used to it, and that takes away most of the points from this.
This is still a great effort worth a d/l reccomedation
1st level: Same as the original, but with a few diferences:
-There’s a Bilsy Boss at the end
-The bonus warp takes 50 coins intsead of 100
-Layout has changed slightly
I beat my previous record of 1092 gems; I got 1108 gems in this level.
2nd level: Fairly linear; you have to hit switches & smash crates to move on in the level.
A bit better than the first level, I await the third level with interest.;)
I find any level that advertises its having “new failures” suspicious.
Anyway, while rather evidently a sequel to the other one (the other one is also included in the .zip, but I found it best not to rate that..), the idea has gotten some upgrades. This time, instead of collecting 1000 gems, you go into three dungeons (still full of gems) and find the “magic switches” which are marked by having gem tiles on either side of them. Once you hit all three, the fourth dungeon opens, wherein you open a combination lock, then see a bit of foreshadowing for the sequel.
The dungeons vary – the first two are rather linear, you go through them a while, find the switch, then find the way back (there are potions to help you do so – blue teleports you (using sucker tubes), grey lets you fly, orange stops your flying), but in the third one you have to hit four crates before you can find the magic switch (which will also get you out of there)
A variety of ground blocks is used, as you might expect, though there are a few bugs that come from him using all four different enviroments – for example, the magic switch gems are on the background from Hocus02 (the tileset), though they appear on the background of Hocus01 (the tileset) at one point. Speaking of backgrounds, that’s one of this level’s failing points – though it’s not entirely its fault – the background doesn’t really work. It use the pillars from Hocus04 (the tileset) wrong, and the mountains have no base – because the Hocus backgrounds don’t work without the status bar. The author, however, didn’t seem to know you can have a Blank status bar (that doesn’t talk about crystals, level number, and TT-JJ2).. oh well.
This level is a definite improvement over the other one, but parts of it prevent it from getting a higher rating.
I didnt like this as much as all of you. Although it had creative idea’s like that acid and stuff, it lacked more pickup placement and it looked barren almost everywhere. The eyecandy was sometimes ok, sometimes bad. I didnt like this as much, and i think it is a bit overated. It is to boring and to hard at times, to much suckerz and no enemies in the second level. I cant reccomedn this to much people, but its a good effort
Raging inferno: (8.2/10)
Less fire than i have hoped, but the ground tiles look very textured. It includes all the improtant things, but more eyecandy could of been included. Not very userfriendly as well.
Space Warbase: I cannot see why most people call this tileset Zatox. Probably because of the brilliant level Cell made with it. This tileset can be used in numerous ways, eyecandy could be made to be excellent with this. Lots of different tiles to stand and walk on, nice backround eyecandy. Cool animations. More userfriendly as well. 9.0/10
Tarzans Treetops:
Interesting and creative name, love the color in this tileset. The leaves have a resemblance from the jungle tileset, but look much better here and more userfriendly than the leaves in jungle. Not as good as the leaves in swamps, but a close runner up. The platforms are also very spiffy. You can stand on brown or green stumps, logs or branches. A more bigger variety of ground could of been included, but since this is a treetop tileset, disguise did his best. There is a cool backround here, and good eyecandy. its as userfriendly as this tileset can ever be. 8.5/10
WinterWonderland:
Love the color, love the backround. The backround mountains look so real. The ground has a small variety, some tiles look like they been cut from nature’s ruins and placed here but with a different color, or the other way around. There is good eyecandy here, and you can make snow. As well as you can make a cave, treetops, and normal ground. This is very good, but not very userfriendly. Love the color though. 8.7/10
UnrealImagination:
This one, although unique and wierd, has good color, and goood eywecandy which birng up the mark. The animations are hilarious, and it includes the basic tiles. This is probably the most creative tileset in this pack, but its also a bit confusing. Not all the blank tiles are masked, so its hard to tell where u put a mask around the level, and where u havent. Without the proper care, you can make horrible levels with tihs, but if you have experience, you can make excellent levels with this. Those masked an unmasked blank tiles can be used for secrets hint hint 7.9/10
Townsville][:
Lets start off at the ground. I like the grassy ground, very textured and spiffy. Nice trees btw. You can make ok rain with this tileset, and the buildings look great. the backround eyecandy is most likely the best in the pack, those green plains and mountains, they just look so cool and green. There are clouds here, which is good, if you want to make rain. The backround also looks good. Like all the others, it includes the basic tiles needed, and its not very userfriendly though. 8.0/10
My overall rating on this pack is 8.383333333, rounded to 8.2, but looking at the tielsets again, and getting more used to them,i have decided 8.2 is to strict, so 8.7 will be my rating instead. These are very creative tilesets which are fun to use, and you should download this as fast as you can. Go on, dont be scared, I SAID DOWNLOAD THIS

I hate to have to do this, but this is definately not a 9. Here’s what I think of this pack:
GAMEPLAY:
Almost every level in this pack has either average gameplay or possibly worse. They’re all kinda boring and not too original. The levels which use Disguise’s earlier tilesets I’m not too fond of. The only level I kinda like the gameplay in is Hazardous Space, except for the turret you placed at the red base; it gets annoying. Some of these levels could be more spacious in places. Others could use fewer platforms. And some levels are confusing, like IronCTF.
Some advice: Try using faster tubes; slow tubes take away from the gameplay. And you should try to make multiple routes to and from the bases. Also, I never really thought placing one base a lot higher than the other was a good idea (since it tends to complicate gameplay), but that’s just my opinion.
EYE CANDY:
It’s alright, but not great. Stay away from excessive foreground (like in SewageCTF). Maybe you should consider using textured backgrounds in your levels in the future because it makes some levels look rather dull.
CARROT AND AMMO PLACEMENT:
Some ammo in some places: not a good combination. And I’m not too crazy about +1 carrots, but you did include full energy carrots and they have generally good placement so that’s OK.
HOST THIS OFTEN?
Nah, needs work. But has potential. I’ll give this a 7 for the effort.[This review has been edited by BlurredD]
This level is special, because ive had it for a few years. It was one of the first levels i downloaded on this site when i first saw it. So after all this time, i will finally rate it.
Even though tubelectric is a bit overused, i wont deduct marks for that. The obstacles are very nifty, not just springs, but many others as well. The tile placement is ok, i liked it a lot. The layout is great, many idfferent obstacles in the race which doesnt let it get boring as fast. The placement of events is also great, good use of suckers btw. The pinball is also good. This is a well made race and deserves a 7.2.
That’s the greatest over-rating I ever had seen. Please, make up your rating. ;-P
Universal Warzone: The eyecandy was a bit strange, but good, i saw no flaws in this. The tileset use has a lot of creativity, and is very intersting. The placement is ok, but i dont like the layout much……
Holy land: Like i said before, interesting use, ok layout and placement, no comment.
Doomsday darkdream: Interesting warp ideas, good tileset use. Layout could of been better, but is ok. Eyecandy is good as well
Grassy mountains: The best thing here was the eyecandy, but i didnt liek rthe music and layout much.
An interesting battlepack. Nothing more, nothing less.
“Hocus Pocus 5” is the fifth (duh) in the Hocus Pocus tileset series. Not as good as its predcessors, it includes Fooruman, an old standby of the series, some reddish block tiles, a strange “new” wizard character, and some miscellaneous stuff. This tileset just seems to be missing something. Still, it’s very good, and I’ll bet dollars to donuts it’s going to be used for Foo Races, so might as well D/L it now rather than when joining a Foo Race server and causing lag to the poor players. =P
That was bad. It wasn’t at all harder than the original and there is a cheap way to defeat it: stand to the right of the right side pipe. 1.5 points for effort and originality.
I liked this one
Although not very ibg, the name suits it, since most of it is based on the temple part of disguise’s tileset. There are many good eyecandy points, it shows understanding of the tileset, but lacks size and better placement of ammo, which i found kind of poor. The gameplay also gets boring quick, and that is not very good in a level. Other than that, i guess i could give this a d/l reccomendation, but Cell made much better levels than this.
OMG 9.5 THANX THANX THANX
The reason i posted this review is because i forgot to mention something. Firesword deserves some credit for inspiration, because a while ago, after i made my battlepack, conversionbattlepack, so it was named, FS tried convincing me to make a CTF pack instead of a race pack. And so i did, so i guess this pack was partially made for FS, and partially for myself o’course. So whenever u see FS, bonk him on the head with a crowbar plz. Some more reviews plz, i feel very good today =)
Thanx blurredD, it needed that. Like i said, these are mini, if they werent mine, i personally would of rated them an 8. Ill keep working on bigger levels.[This review has been edited by Blackraptor]
