First of all, I must say that I hate it when people make zips unzip to a new subfolder. I spent about five whole minutes trying to think where the heck the tileset was going. And I have to say, it really wasn’t worth my five minutes unfortunately. The tileset features what looks a lot like a world made of ice. However, there are still “jaggies” left over from the original tileset stencil that could have been easily removed and should have been. Graphics quality is decent-ish, but still are obviously drawn in Microsoft Paint. It all ends up looking really cartoony, which is good in some tilesets, but definitely isn’t good enough in a frozen world tileset, where I expect good-looking and textured ice along with some nice-looking ground and snow. The ice in this is decidedly not textured. In fact, it doesn’t look as much as ice as it does like some kind of frozen yougert-like goo that you might see leaking out of a vat in a school cafeteria. This tileset suffers from not enough time spent on it, a bad drawing tool being used, and the jaggies left behind from the stencil. Simply removing the jaggies would significantly improve many of the ratings, including mine. The sucker tubes, which are animated (/me writhes), look cheesy and are more suited from a 1999 “OMG I MAKE LEVEL IT FLASHY HOTEL I AM COOL” level than a 2002 level that is actually good. Get Photoshop Elements, and I’m sure you could make some pretty good tilesets. However, this tileset is one that could have been and should have been. No download recommendation.

This isn’t really a new gametype technically, but more of a twist on battle (don’t let the fact it’s listed as “assault” fool you – it isn’t assault.) “Trio Space War” is, in fact, a battle level. However, the game is played within three arenas. The red arena, which seems to be the barren landscape of an alien planet with it’s many hills and slopes. The blue arena features a blue-colored planet which resembles the moon. This area has mostly even ground but leads to a hill which eventually ends up at a gap that leads into a small passage below. All three of this lands are connected be a series of warps, reperesented by “bulls-eye” rings that are the color of whatever planet is lead to. This warps, while an interesting idea, are both a good and bad thing. During play, players frequently found themselves falling into warps they never wanted to enter in the first place. You then had to find an appropriate warp to get back to the correct planet. By the time I was able to do that, opponents will probably be long gone. However, this also added to the fun. Play was chaotic. While some people may not like that, it does add to the level’s fun factor. Some games (especially one-on-ones, which this level is good for) end up being some strange hide-and-seek/tag hybrid where players are running around trying to find eachother. I have some gripes with the level’s eyecandy. In some places, it just looks “off”, especially on some of the floors. However, the craters look spifftacular, and most of the questionable eyecandy problems (except for the blue planet’s half complete-looking ground) were related to the crater use in the blue planet. The green planet had the fewest eyecandy bugs. Some passages were way too small, and could quickly become annoying, especially when you are being chased or following many people at once. If two players are going through the opposite way, there will be problems. There are also a few dead ends. For a level with this hide-and-seek-like gameplay, I was disappointed with the weapon placement. There was few weapons, and they seemed to be placed so very few bottlenecks other than near powerups were made. This level is too Jazz-friendly. Make it more Spaz-friendly or Jazz will have too large of an advantage. Other than that, it’s a pretty good back, though not the greatest. It’s a case of a good idea with execution that could have been better. Still worth a download for battle fans, though.

Mmh.. I’m tired, leave me alone. TRIO SPACE WAR IS IT’S NAME, LET’S DO ANOTHER UNNESSESSARY LONG REVIEW, SHALL WE?

Eyecandy: Not too much to say here, slightly above average eyecandy I suppose. It was a bit plain, the tiles didn’t involve much more than a few crators and simple colours. Strangely enough only one planet had a backround other than the default one which was a mountain in the backround that didn’t move. To tell the truth, the eyecandy was a bit boring. Though this is true, I didn’t see any mistakes, either. Not bad, I’d say. Gameplay: Meh.. I didn’t like it that much. There are blue springs that get in the way of your narrow path in certain areas, and confusing warps. I have to say, the warping scheme was a bit odd. You didn’t always start off with a powerup, infact I rarely did. When you start off you get to pick between three planets to battle in. I don’t at all consider this survivor, other than “grouped battle.” Again, I have my good points to this level. It was very Jazz friendly, fairly easy to get around for most areas. By the way, you never made it so it’s impossible to get the powerups without having to warp, eg.(ice powerup) Other than that, not bad. Weapons/Placement: Again, I wasn’t too impressed with this aspect of the level. Yes, the weapons are sparse, and no, they don’t really have much of a variety to them. Rectangular shaped ammo is quite boring. Add more variety to it. As for placement, I didn’t have a problem with that. Good placement, there. My additional comments to the level are as follows. “Trio Space War” is more a battle level than it is an Assult/Survivor level. I found it a bit boring, not much layer three or sucker tubes or anything, mostly just running around in circles killing people. I didn’t think this level requires too much if any strategy at all. The idea of yours is okay, but it can use improving. As for the rating, overall you get a 6.5 Yes, it’s a little disappointing but you have potential. Keep working on it! Download Recommendation, maybe.. It depends all on what you like, really.

!@#$!@#$!@#$!@#$ INTERNET EXPLORER!!! I worked hard on a extensive review for this, but accidentally typed in the wrong name, and lost all of my work. I’ll sum it up.

1. Use the remap tileset palette function. It would make Jazz’s colors not so bad.

2. Don’t rip tiles unless you’re basing a tileset off a game.

3. a better paint program would help your tilesets a lot.

Harrumph…
I make OK tilesets (excluding the first I sent here, it was horrible) and I use MS paint…

As for the tileset, bad, I don’t even know why I downloaded it. Messed up colors, and just not very good looking.
Sorry, no d/l recommendation…[This review has been edited by RSPSS FR]

OMG I LUV THIS TILESET IT ROCKS IT IS VERY WICKED AND I LUV SPACE AND WOW AND OMG AND MORE OMG

I wanted to give this 9.8…………but………sob THERE IS NO 9.8!!!!!!!!!!!! So 9.7 will do

I dun mind that is has no animations because u couldnt fit them in and i am thankful. Then it weould of been TSF…..

Well anyways, this tileset has 4 different settings, and i will rate them seperately now

Green setting:
My second favorite, it looks liek a planet that has been florished by green. There could of been some plants included, but then it would of been TSF liek i said. 10.0
Blue setting
My favorite, it looks like a normal comet/asteroid/moon and i like the decorative craters in the walls. 10.0
Brown Setting: My third favorite, looks like a deserted reocky planet with piles of rock and brown rock only. 9.7
Metal setting (space ship)
This setting, though my least favourite, is still needed. It can be used as a spaceship landng on the planet, a spaceship flying through space, or a passage to sepearate the 3 other areas. 9.6
Overall score 9.800031
Rounded score 9.7

Not that bad, i mean, it has good quality, to dull though, the palette is ok.
The backround looks kinda ugly, and the ground blocks dont look so respective. The green poles, I had no idea they were masked, really. I dun really like this tileset as much, but looking at other tilesets, which arent half as good and got a 6 or 7, im forced to up my rating by .5. This tileset isnt that bad ppl, and still gets a big fat download reccomedation

Firstly, let me say this screws up your color when you play it. Its completely missing the important tiles, has bad textures, not much good quality. It has tons of useless tiles and no useful tiles, thankfully he/she included some ground. thank god for that. The tileset looks to screwy and i dun like it much, sorry, no download reccomendation here, try getting a better paint program, MS paint rarely gets high marks. HECK ITS ALMOST IMPOSSIBLE FOR IT TO GET OVER 6!!
I dun think ill be seeing any levels made with this tileset, other than the example level o’ course.

Well, this is astonishing. I usually dont bother making hotels because the tilesets, most of them, rather stink, but this makes me think twice.

It has different backrounds, checkered, wooden, etc. The backround eyecandy Ruxors, the backround is above average.
It has beyond the things needed for a hotel, such as it has EVERYTHING a normal room would have, a fridge, a toaster etc. IT EVEN HAS A MAILBOX :O:O:O:O:O:O This, and the other hotel made by disguise and Mr. Freeman and Superabit, are the only hotel tilesets i reccomend you to download. Nuff said

Yup, another highly reccomend tileset of JJ1. As Blackraptor said, you are rivaling with Violet in “the who makes the best and quick JJ1 tilesets?” -contest. CelL makes the Marbelara planet very nice, all jokes of Turtles, cats, and bunnys. They rock. The lava is the only that stink if you animate it. It look very crappy. The fountains are very nice, but in the example level you made a water block in i what looks really bad. Also, the animations of it are nice. Overall, this is a new meeping JJ1 conversion who i recommend.

Woo! His 50th set! An occassion worth celebrating! It’s come a long way from its humble origins as a blank grid. ;)

The eyecandy is nice, and I like the water alot for some odd reason. :P Tonnes of stuff to use, the Genie looks rather cool as well.

No masking errors I can spot (although some hillarious dialogue ‘Wisety, that made my day xD) and the ‘free mirrow’ stuff down the bottom was especially cool. ;)

But yes. One of his best sets (aside from a few others that I like better :P) Download now

Like everyone said, way to hard to use, but colorful nonetheless. Eyecandy can be really good with this tileset, but i dun think its really 10 worth, i think a nine will do just fine for it.

Oh yeah, a download reccomendation

Ok, my basic review

Alien Homeland:
This is an ok tileset, not much wrong, if i were to describe it, id use one word. Strawberries. Yes, the pink platform here looks like strawberries, nothing more to say.

Green Matrix:
White rabbit, this isnt so bad, true it hurted my eyes at first, but i got into the green colour later on. It looks very digital, no comment.

Modern City:
Yes this does look so much like a modern city, those arrow signs, the green sucker tubes coming out of the ground, the FLOATING ROADS LOL! XD
Well, this isnt a bad tileset, for a modern city, its very textured btw

Prison sewer: Probably my least favourite, it doesnt look anything liek a sewer. It has a sorta dull backround, and to much bars. I cant really say much else on this except you can easily overuse the eyecandy here and make it look very ugly and confusing, but other than that, its an ok tileset.

And finally rocky greenland Despite the cartoonish look, this was most likely the best in the pack. I loved the ground and the bridges, the backround was ok, nothing really special. The rain isnt so good, to cartoonish, well, my favourite in other words. Im unsure whut to rate it, but if i would, it would be an 8.5 or a 9
9.2 tops, but surely a solid download reccomendation
