Happy CTF one of the best CTF packs I ever saw, not alone the levels has well choosen music and amazing eyecandy, there’s also a lot different gameplay from each level.
As Bobby said, stripe is the best of the best.

I don’t like this very much, but I try to review it fair, anyway…
This tileset is very easy to use, but you can’t make very nice levels with it. I don’t understand the mask, but maybe it’s just me…

Clouds…blocks…colors…is this deja vu or have there been a lot of colored block tilesets with clouds lately? I’ll try to shake off memories of the days when tilesets actually had tiles that didn’t all consist of blocks (like last week) and try to fairly review this tileset. There isn’t really much to say, though. It’s another tileset with colored blocks and clouds. We’ve seen this a million times by now. It is a fairly easy type of tileset to make, so many newcomers make it. I’m not sure if exclaiming that you have an “amazing” total of eight different colors is a very good idea. Most tilesets (excluding these block ones) have many, many more than that. This isn’t a half-bad block tileset, despite the low amount of eyecandy (four of any major thing is not enough.) Still, it’s a nice job, and worth a download recommendation for those who like colored blocks…and clouds…and generic, flavorless rice cakes.

WOAH! Kev, I never knew you make jazz progs! SWEET! Nice button skins, and form backround! Good job bro, a good and handy prog that is useful for player 1, that are going to go idle, or mainly host a game and then let it run. BTW, where did you get the fonts for the “about” window. Those are excellent!

REVIEW:

4 pts for originality, but i have seen the freeze idle before.

3.2 pts for the skins.

2 pts for XP!

Therefore, the total is: 9.2!

Here comes another of choose “color block” tilesets.
It has a bagrund, in size of a texture bagrund, but it dosen’t work as a texture.
The balls looks a little lame with their coloring, I’d not like to put them in my level very well, but they are okay.
There’s 2 types of ground, and a third type of “belts”.
Both types looks cool, except for the belts is a little lame in their drawed position.
There’s even arrows in 8 different colors, and there is also layer 6 and 7 background.
ScitonFighter wanted to set the funky dot over this tileset and added red and green rain.
Thought the poles looks fun, and there’s mising sucker tubes.

Overall, its a nice tileset, but there aren’t any layer 4 eyecandy (unless you set in the “clouds”?), and I’d say you should download this if you want to make a level with a funky looking block tileset.

Oh my god. This is awesome conversion of first episode from JJ1. I love this episode. But it’s easy and buggy. JJ1E1 wasn’t like this. Guess why. Like Jazz2 has things what Jazz1 didn’t have, Jazz1 has things what doesn’t have Jazz2. Weapons are different, enemies are different an this is total conversion. All weapons are same. But Jazz2 has more weapons so why to don’t use all? Because this is total conversion. Conversion of level design (9.2), ammo placement (4.0) and J1 eyecandy (7.5) and fun from JJ1 (8.0). I am recommending download this great conversion of cool super episode.[This review has been edited by Danyjel]

I DO enjoy making Jazz1 remixes. If this would be boring, I wouldn’t make so much of them. :) This is fun especially when the music is meant to be a joke. Currently I’m working on really funny remix – the Deckstar remix (Shellion Bites Back).

“UH”

This was my initial reaction. A few seconds after that it was “GGGGG” To produce “UHGGGGG”.

I don’t like rating files which don’t achieve much. I’m sure everyone else will put the level down enough and my review speaks for itself.

Keep trying, spazzyman. :)

Try using the official levels first as they are easy and then go onto custom user levels. Especially ones like Agama’s, those are hard for n00bs to align correctly and such.

Heh… I would have loved this (and doubtless other people too) if not for mine, which make me want to scream at you “Where are the sucker tubes? The poles? Why doesn’t the textured background even WORK?!”
Anyway, this is an update of CelL’s other Stonar conversions, with better colors. Except for the background mountains. The mountains are more then one shade of black, so they look all wrong. Btw, CelL, in the future, here’s something useful to know. JJ1 tilesets DO have both night and day versions, so be careful.
Still, this is a fun and useful tileset. Fix the background and the mountains and it would get a better rating, though.

Edit: Ok, CelL reuploaded it and now the mountains are fixed, it has a vine, H/V poles, blocks and sucker tubes. The sucker tubes aren’t made for T formations, but oh well.
Also, if the H/V poles were also available on at least one of the layer 4 backgrounds, that would be helpful.. but oh well. And the textured background still doesn’t work.
Nice fixing otherwise, though.[This review has been edited by Violet CLM]

Ah, time for my unscheduled long review

First, you’ve got the tilesets mixed Magoo :P But im not taking marks off for that because it has nothing ot do with the level.

Some people say music is part of the rating, some dont, im in beetween. Music is not a big part, but if you dont have any music at all……. The music is excellent here so +3.0 here

The weapon placement is ok, nothing special, hidden warp to seeker powerup, and a few other powerups. Its ok, +1.0

Gameplay, well this level is roomy, and medium sized. It barely has any narrow passages, i dont think it has any actually, and thats good for battle levels. Its easy to move around in, and non-confusing, good job here +2.5

Eyecandy: This one of the few flaws, the eyecandy is poor, and there is barely any. There is some at least, but it could do with some improvement. +.5

The rest, overall, this level has good vine/spring placement etc. but that is part of gameplay, so most of the mark goes there, the rest equals up to +.5 more so……….

It all adds up to a generous 7.5 and an overall donwload reccomendation.

Luv the music

Even for a level that was made towards the end of 1998, when JCS was just starting to be noticed by Jazzers, it really isn’t that good. The eyecandy is one of the weakest points of the level, so I’ll address it first. There are several eyecandy problems in this level. The first is that there are numerous tile bugs that can be distracting and lead to an overall not-so-enjoyable experience. The gameplay is not much better either, but is still passable. The level’s flow, however, seems to not have been planned very much. It ranged from middling to annoying. There are obviously no fancy-schmancy effects using such amazing high-tech devices as ambient lighting or sound, but I really wasn’t expecting that from a level made in the good ole days. It’s worth a download to see an older level and Newspaz’s first level, but it’s not that great and you shouldn’t expect it to be a classic level.
