A very well maked level.
It’s copied, okay, but the sides are not the same. On the right side is the red base, the left side is the blue base. The blue base haves the very nice sign “Pi is for foos.” and the Bounce PowerUp. The right side haves the RF PowerUp and the Seeker PowerUp. There are everywhere disco thingies, and dead ends. No useless dead ends, useness ;p The springs are very well placed. The weapons are random placed but very good. All is very good, so:
Download this now.

Well honestly its a very nice level for this Tileset. Gameplay is great, there isnt much eyecandy but it makes the level lagless, which is actually a good thing. Despite the fact you copied and flipped one side of the level to the other was maybe a bad idea. This probably means there isnt spend much work into the level, but still its a ok level for a 7.5

Serious, this is not wroth a 8.
The ammo placement sucks, there’s absolutely not enoph ammonation in the levels, there’s mising a tileset in the pack for the last level, and the eyecandy could have been done so much better.

Well OK, Violet, but first tell me how to make JJ1 screenshots. :P (can be a private message) And what’s wrong with the masks? I checked all the tiles and fixed all the mask bugs I found! BTW, I can make this vertical wall easily – by rotating the normal wall in my standard tileset making program (and the only one) – PAINT. :>

Edit: !!! Thanks, Violet! I’ll re-upload file soon with bug fixes. And Krezack, I MEAN Raneforus. It’s a planet. :)[This review has been edited by JSZ Jazz]

This is good level pack. Good eyecandy. Etc. But one thing misses. Like items. There’s checkpoints, and carrots, and the game is like big puzzles, but there’s not any food ammos or gems.

So that’s then 8.7

This is a conversion of Raneforus. That is, the Raneforus included with JJ2.
The transparencies are fixed, and some tiles are added. I.E. More arrows, text signs, blocks. However, what would have been preferrable is if the author had taken the time to get the tiles that were missing from Raneforus. E.G. Vertical walls.
The masking needs work. Things are rather jagged, and there are lots of holes in masks.
The colors are off. It’s not too noticable unless you switch back and forth between it and an original, though.
Still, for those of you who don’t want to use Tarquin aka Crono’s conversion, which is in 1.23, has proper colors, has a (not working) textured background, but poor masking, this is something you might want to download.

JSZ Jazz, I recommend you fix the bugs I mentioned, and send it to someone with 1.23 to convert for you.

Response:
To take screenshots in JJ1, press Backspace+F2. They will be saved in the JJ1 folder, under the name Screen#.lbm. (# being some number) Warning, though, if you press it too many times JJ1 crashes.
Don’t just rotate the floor. The walls in Raneforus look different.
A lot of the masks have little holes in them. While this doesn’t effect the gameplay, it looks really bad in JCS.[This review has been edited by Violet CLM]

Really, I couldn’t agree more with the comments above. This level has a below average (for levels with TIPs) flow, which is surprising, because it is usually Mike’s strong point. Still a very good level and a recommended download.

This level is not tournement-worthy. There is no sound, but (as Violet mentioned) the ambient sound use is VERY nice. Please make levels in 1.23, however. A good effort, but with level thought put into it.

Jungrock actually isn’t one of my favourite JJ1 planets, the levels were totally simple, enemies too, music boring, and boss… you don’t even have to fight with him! (especially when you have Launcher)

Enigma, don’t blame the great Letni. It wasn’t really so ugly, and these black ‘n white making tiles (wish we could make something like this in JJ2…) were cool.

Violet CLM, I would blame you for not seeing something such big, but I will stop myself, since these rockets are in 2nd level, which is maze like (haven’t found any of them in 1st and secret level…)

PS: Don’t dirt our planet! Send all trash to Scraparap! ;>
