Well in total that makes 13-15 JJ1 Tilesets so far…. Hmm, that means that about 4 JJ1 worlds + 1 planet have been converted, if anybody needs wants all the JJ1 sets that have been converted so far you can email me, err I need to get New’s Mayhem (3 JJ1 sets in it).
The tileset is done well, great job u 2.
Hmm…
a good modification to a conversion of deserto, a very nice jj1 world, in my in-experenced eye. Good looking and quite satisfying effect…
Masking:
The masking’s fine. Incredibly boring, but no problems with it.
Graphics:
Bleh. All the blocks look heavily reduced from a higher number of colors, and have no texture or anything. There are also some signs and letters and stuff, which look better.
Usability:
Looks fairly easy to use.
Extra Stuff:
The blocks, the text signs, the text, along with Poles and Vines. Those make up this tileset. No layer 4 background, no small maskless structures, etc. However, the tileset includes three textured background, one of which even works.
Miscellaneous:
The ramps could use some work. And somehow, the tileset just doesn’t Look 3D..
Competition:
If you like this tileset, get Newspaz’s Meza. It has everything this does and more, not to mention it’s graphically better.
So far, I’m undecided on a rating. I’ll come back to this later.[This review has been edited by Violet CLM]
This tileset is quite good.
It has many varietys of 3d ground that you can use, as well as 3 different choices of backgrounds. Possibilities are limitless with this tileset. With all the ground and everythign you could make quite an intersting level out of this tileset. I would recoment this tileset to all who are good at seeing tilesets in 3d since all the ground is ;P.
Good job keep up the good tilesets : P.
A great tileset. The 3d aspects are interesting. It kind of reminds me of a multicolor version of Blue World. Very good. A recommended download.
Sorry, but I have no level editing skills whatsoever. But, I am in the process of fixing the background up, and adding more sections. I’ll also get rid of the shields and adjust the weapons placement. Thanks for your input.
(old review removed, replaced with original system)
TILESET/TILESET USE: The level uses Mez01, but not incredibly well. The walls consist of semi-random colorful blocks, but the main unattraction is the background, which is the worst I’ve ever seen using Mez01. It fits together about as well as the walls in Norbii’s “Green Land”.
Pros: More then one wall tile used, colorful.
Cons: The background, and there’s really nothing interesting. No foreground or background eyecandy.
Rating: 1.0
WEAPON/ITEM PLACEMENT: This is, strangely, the first level I’ve reviewed today with either of these. It has a lot of powerups in the upper right area, a lot of ammo in a falling area, and a bunch of coins on the bottom left. There’s a coin warp above the red base leading you to a full energy carrot and a fire shield.
Pros: Coins not insanely overused or bunched up.
Cons: Weapons too bunched up, too sparse elsewhere, coin warp only set to 10 coins.
Rating: 1.5
ORIGINALITY: This is probably one of the only levels advertised as Battle despite obviously being CTF….
Pros: Layout’s also kind of original, as you take completely different paths between the bases depending on which you started from.
Cons: This isn’t necessarily a good thing.. but it’s done kind of well, and shows a little thought.
Rating: 2.2
GAMEPLAY/DESIGN: Hmmmmm. There’s a rectangle area at the top right with powerups and the blue base. From there, you fall down through ammo to another rectanglish area, this time with coins and the red base. From here, you can warp back to the blue base area.
Pros: Interesting.
Cons: Not all that well engineered, as defense is rather messed up. Oh, and there’s a dead end.
Rating: 2.0
REPLAY VALUE: Who knows? You might have some fun with this.
Pros: Possible entertainment value.
Cons: Likely lack of it.
Rating: 2.0
OVERALL (not an average): I can’t say I care too much for this level, and I’m beginning to wish I hadn’t started rewriting my reviews from the bottum up. It does have a few interesting parts, but it feels too much like a bad level, and that’s because that’s what it is.
Pros: Parts of design and placement, kind of original.
Cons: The background, other parts of design and placement.
Rating: 2.2[This review has been edited by Violet CLM]
After thousend times play:
NO, I cant finish the level…
But it looks fantastic!!
Man! Desert day today!
It’s tha JDC event tileset. But than better. HAPPY BIRTHDAY SAL. All is Welll done. The masking is very nice. Im busy, so here’s a impossible short review by ME!
[EDIT]: There are 2 pezrock tilesets. So, search downloads. [/Edit][This review has been edited by Taz]
Woopee! This really rox.. It’s a very nice tileset with cactuses, sand (DUH), and some crazy thingies. I agree with Violet about the Xample level. I like it too ;P
A very good Tileset.
Ther are some very good tiles added like the cool spikes ;P, and the plack
of sal is a good idea for his birthday
(yes a happy birthday to sal)
The tiles and background are all cool,
and the masking is well done.
Good job violet on releasing this cool tileset (my birthdays on november 29th ;P j/k)
The masking is interesting at bottom ;P. It is well remapped and certainly easy enough to use.
Bleached Diamondus
In the eyecandy department ;P, Its done well, normal eyecandy you seen in most diamondus levels with some intersiting usage of layers 5-7.
The Gameplay is good excpet for tubes in bases.I like the carrot thing although by jumping and not going to high you can stay in it and wait for it to spawn. Also if it is show down there are two places it can be , the left
or the right ;P.
Its a fun lev with good weapon varietys and interesting ideas.
I would recommend this download to all : P.
This sucks, it’s a very small and bad level, it has tons of powerups, a easy found secret warp to a full energy and a FIRESHIELD!
Don’t worry, it’s wrose, there’s even 2 CTF bases!
A battle level with ctf bases? Argh. .;
don’t upload crap like this, waster of space.
Hmmm, this demo has one level, I wonder how much the full version will have.
Whooooaaaa, hold on a second, this is not right. i see a 9.2, but I dotn see a 9.2 tileset. It’s fully ripped (except ofcourse for the ‘Level and Tileset by Craccoboy’ signs and a few plain tiles) and the graphics its ripped from is really old. Nintendo RPG style, nothing great about the graphics.
Trafton, I really dont understand how you could give it a 9.2 with a comment of: “Definately one of the better Cracco tilesets. Very nice job.”
How do you get to a conclusion like that? I dont know if its an insult or a compliment, I’ve seen some cracco tilesets and to call THIS one ‘one of the better’ seems like an insult. There are sets that are better out there, thats for sure!
ALOT of ripped tiles here. The only saving gace is the backgrounds. But even they aren’t hot.
About 90% of this tileset is ripped. Hence the score.
If Traftan thinks this is a nice job, what are all the other tilesets like?
No offense to Cracco Boy but the harsh reality is that I am not afraid to give a mediocre rating for mediocre work. Take a look at some of the other tilesets that got 8 or 9. How does THIS compare to those?!?
Since this is so high in the rating list at J2O and it only has one review I decided to go and check this one out.
I came to the conclusion that it’s just a rip. I don’t like the way the rip was done, it looks like there were to many colours in the original bmp.
Next to lots of RPG tiles and some Super Mario World tiles it has some coloured blocks, and a few tiles ripped from the carrottus, JJ1: Marbler and beach tilesets.
And besides, the example level didn’t work for me. I was undecided between a 7 and a 6.7 so I made it a 6.7.[This review has been edited by Newspaz]
Nice tileset.
Background could be much better!
Exit signs also.
Averall very nice and worth a download.
Another conversion by Violet CLM. Not really sure what to say, except good job, and Happy Birthday to Sal, the foo. =)
EDIT: After some looking at the tileset, I decided to give it 0.5 higher. Yay. ;-p[This review has been edited by KJAZZ]
Wow. Cool. I like this one. A bit small, but the first example level (if not the second) shows you can do things with it.
Set in a desert or mesa, this is a brownish tileset with a few cactuses, some structures, and of course sand.
I like it.
