I’ve run out of flashy introductions so I’ll just get straight to the point.

Download this. Maybe.

Er…ok, if you want it more detailed, read on.

Temple of Doom had very high expectations of me (NO WAY! -Moonblaze) and it looks like it fulfils those expectations. Almost.

But since I never like to bring bad news first, I’ll write the many good things about Blaze’s lvl. The lvl has got plenty of cool lighting effects, especially the one at the top-right corner but I’ve seen it used many times before so it ain’t exactly original. Very neat though. Ammo placement is also good and they’re sensibly placed around the lvl although they are a bit too scattered and there are way too little of them. The usage of Agama’s tileset Heaven is fabulous. There are no tile bugs at all and everything looks great even though the lvl doesn’t even get close to a temple since Blaze hasn’t used any of those white stone tiles. The positioning of both bases aren’t exactly the best I’ve ever seen but it’s all right, I suppose. However, it’s too easy to defend the bases and that’s what I don’t like cause I hate ppl camping at their bases.

Now, for the bad news. prepares to eat Blaze in case he gets angry The gameplay. I don’t like it. Ok, so the lvl has some well placed springs and platforms but green leafes doesn’t make summer and well placed springs don’t make a good lvl. Temple of Doom has got some VERY annoying things in it. Take those V-poles at the right hand side of the lvl for example. They slow you down, makes you vulnerable for attack plus they prevent you from shooting. Two poles would’ve solved the problem but FOUR?! It takes about 4 seconds to spin through all the poles and when you land and hit one of the two red springs, you get bounced back up again wasting another valuable 4 seconds. Another bad thing is that you often don’t have a clue of what’s solid or not because of all the lighting effects. You see a statue and you think you can go through it but you can’t and after running around for a couple seconds you suddenly discovered that there’s a part of a solid wall that you can walk through. However, the worst thing about Temple of Doom is yet to come. Yes. YES. THE MIGHTY WRATH OF THE FEARED FLAG BUG!! Ahem. Yes, this lvl does suffer from the flag bug. Temple of Doom has got absolutely no masking on top of it and on the left hand side of it which is annoying since there’s almost nothing you can do to avoid touching the unmasked corners. Bad. Bad. Bad.

Temple of Doom is a mixture of good and bad but to soften my blow, let’s just see it as a struggle between good and evil. Blue stands for everything good in this lvl and red for everything bad.

GO BLUE!!!!!!!! W0000PEE!!!!!!

Anyway, Temple of Doom is a fairly good lvl by Moonblaze. It suffers from the flagbug and bad gameplay but it’s still quite fun to play in (especially since there’s only a powerup for seekers in this lvl – no RFs…HAHA!)

If you like a interesting CTF lvl and wants to develop a hate-love relationship with Jazz2, this is the lvl for YOU. A 7.5.

Cheers,

White Rabbit.

EDIT: Blaze is sooooooooooooooooooo irritating. eats Blaze[This review has been edited by White Rabbit]

EDIT: Noo! Don’t eat me! WR soup never tastes good! I think I have Talec, Blaze, Enigma and some other guy I forgot the name of to support me. :-P[This review has been edited by White Rabbit]

Oke since Im the first reviewer I cant give a correct rating. But anyway I think this lvl deserves a eight or more.

Well the level is very nice, probably your bestest. Eyecandy and lighting is great. Bit laggy though, but you wont have any problems with it if you got a fast system. Further the shape of the level is well designed. Ammo is ok placed, not too much not too less. I think Ill recommend this for duels or 2 on 2`s. More players will be too crowded.

Anyway this is a fairly great CTF level, a 8 and a download recommendation from me. Good Work!

This tileset is amazing just as any other by agama you can even set swiches it has keys and good background music

(If you can find nothing wrong with it, why don’t you just give it a 10? It would still be removed, but this just shows there is a great deal you are not telling us. ~Violet)[This review has been edited by Violet CLM]

Actually, Cazz, both tilesets used have no ripped tiles whatsoever, other then things like destruct blocks.

Anyway.
“Temple of the Scarabees” (did the author mean Scarabs?) uses CH, Cracco Haggard. The eight “coins” are hidden in weird places, once of which I had to use the map for. (It being in a maze of invisible blocks) The level itself is kind of annoying (especially where I got stuck), though I like it some places. Tip: Don’t use so many H-poles right next to each other.
“A cold place to be” (interesting name) uses CK, Cracco Kool, the remake of CW. This one has “coins” that are easier to find, easier to get to, etc. There are also snowmen here and there, with interesting things to say. (Refrences to other tilesets, often) The down part about this level is that one part is impossible (from what I could tell) to navigate as anyone but Spaz.

The eyecandy in both levels is ok, though I’ll admit I’m tired of lots of little 1×1 tiles in a cloud formation.
Although it’s a bit hard to get around in the levels, they are navigatable, to an extent.
Overall, the SFC pack is worth your download, even if you might want it more for SFC itself then the levels.

No effense, but your tilesets are ripped everywhere and they’re bad looking. The gameplay is way too confusing. But not half bad.

BurfY!

Haunted House rox.. This not… It uses only layer 4 & 8.. So, Haunted House doesn’t have 6 &7 but ok =P

Gameplay is bad, there’s a MCE and a Accelation Violation (or something, heh)

I agree with Elrick about the unfinished idea.

It’s a nice first one. (My first Sp was “Pizza Land”) Download if you have a “First level collection..

Knightmare Castle is a highly enjoyable, simple CTF level. It is basically a large, symmetrical room with two warps, two tubes, a few powerups and a carrot. The bases are in each bottom corner, and are easy to find. Although this level is very basic in terms of design, it has a creative layout that allows for a lot of good strategies to be used.

The bouncer and RF powerups are located in an area which you can only access by sucker tube, unless you are skilled with RF-Jumping. They make for good areas to hide if you have the flag, since you can easily see people comming up and shoot them before they have a chance to hit you. The powerup areas are at least a second away from the bases, so they aren’t the best areas to hide at if you want to score a point quickly. There are also several other key points you can defend from, specifically underneath a certain platform near each base, and a ledge in front of each warp. This really makes the gameplay a lot more interesting, and can make the whole map hazardous for the player.

Getting from base to base is an easy task of simply running across a flat surface. However, this is a bit dangerous since there is a seeker powerup right in the middle of the path. Other ways to get to the enemy base are by using one of the warps, or taking an aerial apporach by using a spring or ledge. These methods are a little safer, unless your opponent knows you are going to use them. It is easy to be nailed down with RF missles and seekers, both abundant in the level.

There is one full nrg carrot in the top-middle region of the level, and can be reached by either jumping to it from the bouncer powerup or RF powerup, or by using a green spring to propell you up to it. It’s very easy to be killed while getting the carrot though, creating an intense experience for anyone at low health.

Speaking of springs, the placement of them is for the most part, excellent. They all send you just where you want to go, except for a patch of them near each base, which I found forced you to double jump in one area. It’s a small problem though, and the springs are still well-done nonetheless. Spaz has an easier time getting around in this level, due to a few high jumps, but the level isn’t totally geared in his favour. Because the level is extremely open (as in there is a lot of empty room), jazz can make ample use of coptering.

Ammo placement is fairly good, although there are 2 patches which seem rather useless. They are by the powerups in each top corner (they are the patches arragned in a vertical line). Those two groups of ammo are in places where people will not travel very often. The rest of it is very professionally done, but there doesn’t seem to be enough at times. The selection of weapons in the level is good, and they can all be used to their full potentials.

The eyecandy in this level is superb. It is not too excessive in that it gets annoying, but it looks great. This level has the perfect amount of eye-candy to use, and has its own distinct look. The background in one area looks a little bizarre, but it is a hard to notice “problem”, even if it can be called that.

I reccomend this level for 2 on 2 combat, but no more due to the small size. I played this level with more than six people, and it was a little to intense. When a few people left, the game was very fun, and that’s why I give this level an 8.2. I give any level that I would host online (not for the sake of reviewing, but simply for the sake of playing) a score of 8 or greater, and this level is certainly one I will play in again.

None seems to rush with downloading and especialy reviewing TSF levels so i feel on duty to do it :) But lets stick to the point of review…
Here we got small singpleplayer level useing Haunted House tilest…
Now let me say some about eyecandy…author used only layer 4 and 8 with a textured bg in it. Generaly…eyecandy looks abit poorly…
Now gameplay, author used serval collapsing ( i think i spelled it wrong but nm ) scenery, some trggers and a ,,single’‘ MCE…however…there are still some anoying bugs in lvl…
I liked few idea’s in lvl but they looked ,,unfinished’‘..still it is a good level for first one…my was alo worst…however these lvl will not satisfy most of ppl so dont mind downloading it ( if you dont want to play it and give few tips to TH in review :) My is: ,,Build more lvls, spend some times on level and dont get confused by bad reviews or bad ratings like that!”

The Access Violation erreor is gone.

It was caused by the trigger sceneries and zones. I placed those right before I uploaded it, and I didn’t check if everything was working.[This review has been edited by Waz]
