NIMALA - RPG - v 1.1 A Jazz Jackrabbit 2 map created by Master Of Darkness. CONTENT - What's new in 1.1? - Backstory - The idea - Notes WHAT'S NEW IN 1.1? - The bonus teleport now gives you three fast-fire powerups instead of toaster ammo, since that is not needed at that point anymore - Placed an additional toaster ammo within Nimala - Placed toaster ammo to the bigger mine vaults to prevent getting stuck just by choosing the wrong mine paths - Fixed a minor grammar issue at one of the texts BACKSTORY: The once prosperous town of Nimala is now decaying. Slowly, almost peacefully fading away. The protectors have abandoned their people, and since then, this land is cursed. The reason why the protectors left their sacred land behind is unknown. Now, there is only chaos and turmoil. The borderlands are already taken by the horde of opportunist bandits and thieves. The town itself isn't safe anymore. Knowing this, you wish you could tell these people that you're the hero who will save them. Even though they call you their savior since your arrival, you are worried that you might not be able to live up to that name. Time will tell. THE IDEA: Nimala is meant to be an "RPG", at least as much as that is possible to make in Jazz 2. You have a main storyline that you'll need to follow, but also some side quests, which will grant you bonuses. The town of Nimala, and its surroundings can be completely explored, and during your journey you'll encounter many puzzles and obstacles you'll need to take care of. Some features might not be evident at first, so here's a brief explanation for these: - Ancient Mines: These mines can be located at the southern part of Nimala. Most of the vaults have already collapsed, but with Toaster ammo you can re-open these, and collect the treasures within. The mine is a location where you can return from time to time to carefully use up all your acquired toaster ammo, and collect some bonuses. - Level up: At certain points in the game, you'll "level up", which means you need to return to the center of the town, and fall into the level up pit, which will warp you to a location where you can choose which bonus you want for your new level. After leveling up, hurry back to the town center right away, as level ups don't add up, and you surely don't want to waste one. You can choose from the following bonuses: - Invincibility carrot - Silver coin - Toaster ammo - Full energy carrot - Side quests: There are very few of these in the map, but they are usually worth the effort. Two of these can be found in the town of Nimala, the rest is outside the gates. If you decide to accomplish these, read the instructions and then try to carry them out. NOTES: I am a beginner at map editing, so if you find amateurish parts, please tell me in the comments section so I can fix. The RPG idea might not be original either (I dunno, haven't played all maps on the JJ2online site), so in case it isn't, my apologies. BTW, the map is playable both with Jazz and Spaz, and I'm unsure about Lori... Apart from a few difficulties she should do fine as well. You'll need TSF to play this. Aaand the difficulty settings mean no difference whatsoever. Created by Master Of Darkness in 2010, with planning it took altogether a week or so.
