BACKGROUND INFO
-----------------------------

Would you like a simple, one-sentence boil-down of this entire pack? Oh,
yes. Of course you would. That's why you're reading this text document
instead of playing my levels.

So here it is, folks, the 5-word summary of OSN.

Jazz 1 meets Jazz 2.

Pretty profound, no?

It comes at the request of a few people on J2O, who have postulated the
idea of a pack blending the styles of both games into one appealing
production. Something that would remind the player of the old, while still
operating like the new. A veritable cornucopia of Jazzy goodness. (For all
of you who don't know what that is, a cornucopia is a fancy fruit basket
they give you at Thanksgiving. Don't ask me why, 'cause I don't quite
know...)

Hencely, I set out to make OSN.

If you look at the levels, (espec. Level 2) you should be able to see a few
similarities between the level and its JJ1 counterpart. Take the beginning
of Level 2, for example. In both levels, you start out with a really long
uphill climb towards the right (or left, from Spaz's start pos). Both
levels have a tree-climbing section behind (depending on how you look at
it) the starting spot, at the culmination of which is an extra life. (In
case you haven't tried OSN yet, I just gave you a free tip. Yeahoo!)

The other two levels may not appear at first glance to resemble the JJ1
stuff, but fear not! There are some parts you can poke at and compare if
you so desire.

Another way they are similar is in their eyecandy styles. I did my best to
use concepts from both JJ1 and JJ2. There's the elaborate and svelte
mountain structures in the background, as well as the brown rock caves. I
did some multilayered eyecandy, too, so that should be interesting.

I tried to stay to relatively the same weapons palette, but if you look
carefully in each level, you can find hidden rooms with some of the Jazz 2
guns. Another free tip!

It would be impossible to use all of the same baddies, so I tried to go
with ones that were at least similar, or that would fit.

MUSIC
---------

And then there's the musiques. I remixed all the songs from the Jazz 1
Holiday Hare pack (Xmas 1 and 2), staying with relatively the same note
structures, but transposing them and changing them to more accoustic
instruments. It gives it (I like to think) a more organic atmosphere, which
was what I was shooting for. For the secret level, I just took the Xmas 1
song and transposed it again, changing it to a skippier beat and speeding
it up an octave. For all you JJ1 trivia nuts, I figured you'd like that.
For level 2, I did the opposite, transposing the speed and octave down and
changing it to a piano amalgamation.

Oh yeah. And I accousticalized the JJ1 boss song, too...

Just about the only thing I didn't make myself in this pack are the
tilesets, which were beautifully done by Violet CLM. Tks, man! (although I
suppose he didn't make them SPECIFICALLY for me, but hey)

So, that's about it. Thanks to God (as usual), to all the architects of the
tilesets/original songs, and to all you who will play this pack this
season. Cheery greetings, and have a good 'un!

Peace, y'all.

P.S.-I DID put a few additional secrets into the levels, but to find them,
you'll have to experiment a little with the difficulty level...
