Weapon Mega | Violet CLM | Mutator | 8.7 |
"Weapon Mega" is a series of nine alternate weapons developed by Violet CLM using sprites ripped from various Megaman games by whoever created their respective sheets on Spriters Resource. They are generally themed around attacking enemies in multiplayer who are not immediately in front of you and/or making it dangerous for enemies to directly pursue you. Due to the similarity in their functions, you may not necessarily want to enable all nine at once ("/mutators weaponmega on"), so you are also given the option to pick and choose from them individually (e.g. "/mutators weaponmega7 on"). In order, they are: Gun1: Boomerang Like a blaster bullet that tries again when it misses. Mostly just a cute gimmick, though it in a pinch it's not bad at hitting players who are chasing you. Gun2: Burrower A drill (bigger when powered-up) that quickly falls to earth, then plows straight left or right through the ground (scattering rock particles) until it comes out the other side. If it notices a player standing above it, they'll get a nasty shock. Gun3: Ice Cloud A cloud of frozen air that hangs around for a while before dissipating, potentially trapping your enemies even after you're left the area. The powered-up version will even shoot a quick projectile attack at any nearby enemy when it expires. Gun4: Pathfinder A buzzing ball of electricity that tries to hunt down enemy players by turning only at right angles. If it can't find any, it'll die down pretty quickly, but finding a target extends its lifetime considerably and in the meantime it leaves a number of semi-permanently dangerous hotspots behind it. The powered-up version lasts longer and is likelier to hit. Gun5: Backfire These bullets travel at a decent speed (though not as fast as RFs) and cover a respectable amount of vertical space (though not as much as RFs), but they truly shine in shooting an additional two/four bullets behind you in case you're being chased. Gun6: Crackerjack A moving shield that self-destructs when it gets too far away from you but tries to destroy any enemy bullets it comes into contact with. Can be gradually re-aimed to shield you from attacks from a variety of angles. The powered-up version is a bit larger. Gun7: Gravity Well Briefly creates an area of space that attracts vulnerable enemies and (most of) their bullets, sending them spiralling out of control and into danger. Gun8: Voranj A series of flashy energy balls with very brief lifespans that tend to split themselves in two upon their destruction, resulting in each press of your fire key covering a wide area despite the individual bullets not being very fast. The powered-up version is bigger and lives longer. Gun9: Meteor Rather than fired directly from your blaster, the meteor spawns at the top of a four-tile-high lightning bolt spouting up from you, then falls quickly downwards and ignores walls. Aiming it is a little counterintuitive, but it gives you a good range of options for attacking enemies who are above or below you.
