New JJ2+ release

Once again we’ve seen many teasers, here and on the ModDB page, and we’ve missed more than a few planned release dates along the way, but the new JJ2+ is on shelves now! And by shelves I mean J2O.

Some assorted changes:

1.23+ can run TSF levels and tilesets
New textured background modes, new tile types, vertically flipped tiles
Objects are better synchronized among clients
New splash screens
AngelScript got a lot more powerful

Niiicee! Had a funny mouse aiming match on JE this afternoon. Was very chaotic, and shooting RF’s out of your ass looks hilarious. :P

Gotta say, the addition of mouse aim is epic. I can see a lot of potential with that.

This error appears after starting a new game, selecting an episode and difficulty and then, right before loading the level, the game crash.

It happens both on clean Jazz 2 1.23 and TSF. I’m running win8.1.

wiivn: Start or join a multiplayer server, either online or LAN, and that’ll stop happening. We hope to resolve it in a new release soon, but in the meantime, that’s how you can do it yourself.

No, the original works fine. But this gave me an idea and I think I figure it out. JJ2+ starts only in window mode and unfortunately, it looks like it’s supposed to work that way. If I change it to full screen mode, quit and restart it again, it will display this message.

Unfortunately, Windows 8 really doesn’t get along with full screen mode, in JJ2 and a whole lot of other programs. I’m glad you found a way to start the game successfully.
