Eight or more... Jazz is, like, okay, you know? | 9 votes (21%) |

The new poll is a pretty simple one, following in the footsteps of other simple polls, but it doesn’t actually seem to have been done before. What is the Best JJ2 episode? Your criteria for choosing an episode are entirely up to you… level design? enemies and bosses? music? tilesets? Whichever. Four of the answers have 6 levels, two have 3, and one has 9, and I guess we’ll see if that affects things at all.

Funky Monkeys, because I enjoy that episode the most out of them all.

Why does everyone Always forget the Christmas chronicles?
Violet CLM on 5 May 2015 at 07:15
master sven: It’s my understanding that Christmas Chronicles reuses the Holiday Hare ’98 episode? Sure, it has Lori and some custom levels and a new menu background and a JCS, but the poll is about official SP episodes.
Love & Thunder on 5 May 2015 at 10:50
Violet is correct; the levels are the same.
master sven on 5 May 2015 at 15:45
Is Holiday Hare also version 1.24x?
Otherwise ppl should perhaps not forget the Christmas Chronicles and see if its programmed better than 1.23 and TSF.

I believe my first touch with Jazz 2 was with the Jazz 2 Demo version. I have a lot of fond memories of it. I remember I have played it a lot and really wanted to have the full version. But back then there was little to no internet and it was much harder to find games. Eventually, (as long as I remember) I’ve got my hands first on TSF and after that (finally) the JJ2 full version. When I ran the first level of the first episode, I was surprised (and even little disappointed) to find out that the first episode was not what I remembered from the shareware version. But long story short – Shareware Demo is my fav for nostalgic reasons.

My favorite official episode is Home Cooked Levels.

Master Sven: Holiday Hare is 1.23x. It’s the same as Christmas Chronicles, but running in 1.23 instead of 1.24.

Flashback is my favourite
Slaz on 8 May 2015 at 08:37
This was a hard choice. I’d say Jazz in Time is my favorite due to the diversity and many secrets of Colonius and Psych, and the beach where both levels tried to set a different atmosphere.
Though I’m sure that if you asked me 10 years ago I would’ve voted something else, maybe Flashback.

i’ve spent far more time on this game and community than anything… can’t say I put any time into jj2 anymore besides occasionally coming on here and catching up, or playing through some episodes while bored after going to a coffee shop. i prefer retro games but i am usually actively playing a new game. gta5 (pc) and wolfenstein the old blood are currently taking up my gaming time. also been playing mortal kombat x and DMC with my wife.

Shareware Demo Episodes ;)

The first time I played this game was in 2000 or 2001. I used to play it with my father. Due to the fact that I was a 6-years old boy that time, it was really challenging for me! I couldn’t defeat the 1st boss, the Queen, so I played Demo, and faced an impassable enemy- the Witch! Some time later I finished all episodes and found out that my favourite world is Medivo from Flashback, so I voted for this episode. I also liked Formerly a Prince for the big amount of bosses and awesome music, Jazz in Time for the smoke rings and ability to swim and Funky Monkeys for the brutality of “Damned” tilesets and music…As for the SF and Cristmas I played them when I was already a student. I liked neither Secret files nor Christmas Chronicles cause there aren’t any new bosses or enemies except the cat (or the fox). The tilesets aren’t as cool as the old ones. Easter is a simple remake of Carrotus, Haunted doesn’t have any background…

I’m going to vote on Formerly a Prince purely because it abbreviates to “fap”.

@Sir Ementaler
Wise words.

Funky monkeys (not because of the monkeys though), because of the freaking damn levels, and ofc, hell freezes over. The frozen hell levels are my favorite levels in the entire game!
Primpy on 13 May 2015 at 17:22
My choice is Flashback. Not only because they are from the original Jazz Jackrabbit, but the soundtracks, eyecandy and level designs are great.
