Pollover

The last poll was up for forever and a day, by which I mean, seven-eight months or something. Yeesh! But here you go?

What makes you play Jazz Jackrabbit?
New stuff (tilesets, levels, JJ2+...) 27 votes (42%)
Tournaments 1 vote (1%)
Events (like Anniversary Bash) 5 votes (7%)
Free time 18 votes (28%)
How well the stars align 12 votes (19%)
Total votes: 63

This new question should be pretty easy to answer: Do you use the default player 1 controls in JJ2? Arrow keys for movement, space for shoot, ctrl for jump, shift for run, enter for select. If you use a significantly different control scheme when playing with mouse aim, answer for the non-mouse controls. If you use a controller instead of a keyboard… gosh, really?

I’ve kept the Arrows for movement and Enter to change weapons…
but changed the other options: Space for jump, Z for shooting and Shift for running
I find this setup the most efficient, though I also use the numbers to change weapons (mostly Seeker)

Left control to fire, Z to jump. Back in the day, keyboard technology wasn’t as progressed as it is today, or maybe I just had fairly cheap keyboards, and it wasn’t a particularly good idea to use space in gaming, as it would most easily break. My jump key used to be alt, since about 2000 to about 2011. It didn’t endure my transition from fullscreen to windowed mode. I also use exclusively shift to run and no other means such as caps lock or JJ2+ options.

Aside from the stars aligning, the results from last poll came out quite the way I expected them, considering most who only play during events wouldn’t log in on this website anyway.

I left most of my JJ2 controls to default, but added Left Alt as an alternative shoot button as the stretch for the spacebar with my small kiddy thumb used to be too much (considering it didn’t interfere with window controls as a fullscreen player, and doesn’t do so anymore in windowed Plus). Thinking of that, I never even tried changing my control scheme for all these years..

Well, of course I had to change for my mouse control scheme. It’s WSAD for movement, Space for Jump, Left mouse button for shoot, and Right mouse button for Run.

Arrows for movement, R for jump, T to shoot, W to run, and E to switch weapons, although because I have large hands and my fingers are very close to the numbers like this, I just use the numbers.

But I prefer a controller anyway, so this rarely matters. XD

Arrows for movement, Space and F for jump, Shift to run, Ctrl to shoot, Enter to switch weapons (though i use the numbers more).
