Domination Levelmaking Contest

As you can read in the previous news message recently an update for JJ2+ was released, which includes among other wicked stuff a new gametype; Domination.

Well, now Ragnarok is holding a contest about who makes the best Domination level!

1) The level must be domination.
2) The level must be bigger than 5000 if you multiply the height by the width. This one is slightly leniant, I just don’t want miniature levels. That does not mean you are limited to a certain amount of control points, there can be as many as you want.

3) The level must NOT be a conversion or an edit off a previous level. It can’t even be a remake.
4) The entry must be in by 30th September 23:59 [GMT+1]

Furthermore, he mentions the prize will not be “worth your while. o.0”. Head over to the thread for more details and discussion!

Someone please explain domination to me and how to make it? If I can be taught how, I will participate.

I would reccomend downloading the latest JJ2+ at www.jazz2online.com/jj2+. There, you will find an example level called DOMlevel. Try hosting it in TCP/IP with the /dom command and look at how it works in JCS. It’s quite simple. The concept is to have control points in the level which teams will compete over. They occupy the points by touching them.

I am definately taking part in this. although i have 3 done, i have an amazing idea for a level. I may need someone to help me make the tileset though

no, i’m sure you all have lives as well. that’s not what i’m trying to say. i’ve just been extremely busy because i started college full time again and my job is shorted a few people because of hospitalizations and vacations and such so i’ve been working nearly 40 hours a week. on top of that i’ve been seeing a new girlfriend. so i wish i had time to make a level but i just don’t right noww… Maybe next time!!
