After over a year of wait, the final part of EvilMike’s singleplayer series has been finally announced on the JCF: The Fortress of Ruin is planned to be released by the end of June.
The final confrontation with Devan Shell is near. You have traveled to the planet Nippius where it said that he hiding, but something very strange is going on there. You’re going to need to take a few detours, it seems…
This is by far the longest episode, and personally I feel it’s the best one. I used almost all of the ideas I had, and unlike the previous episodes, refused to place any limits on myself when it came to plot or setting. Everything I wanted to get done is in here, and I’m glad I managed to do it.
Update: It has been released.

I’m interested and I could beta-test it since I’m not busy in the least after tomorrow.

I’ve always loved the quality put into these episodes, and look forward to playing this (sadly) last episode. I’ll have to replay all the previous ones to refresh my memory.
(Promise us that this won’t be your last level pack you release, EvilMike)

I’ve got a detailed outline (I always make outlines) for a new story but I don’t intend to do anything with it for quite a while. Basically I have ideas for plot, but not for gameplay. I think it will be a year or two before I start working on anything new – there’s just no motivation right now. If jj2+ ever adds new single player features, I’ll definitely take advantage of them though. That’s one thing that will make me interested again. What I want to do right now though is revive my blog.
I kind of joked about going into “retirement” in the thread, which I think a few people took seriously. I’m just taking a long break. In the mean time though, a number of people are working on some very promising episodes, and while they are taking absolutely forever, enough nagging should eventually produce a result out of them. There are a lot of people way more talented than I am, and with better ideas. The trick is really just getting things finished.

JCF private messages have been sent to testers. Please check your inbox. If you didn’t get a message, sorry. A lot of people asked, so I couldn’t pick everyone.
