Featured download time.

Finally, a punctual feature. A bit earlier if anything. March’s featured download is Lava Lagoon, by Scizor CT. This huge CTF level introduces a revolutionary concept (also seen in Decrepit Ruins, which was released after Scizor came up with the concept, but before he released this) in which firing RF missiles at the fragile walls will sometimes cause them to cave in, revealing new passages.

This level features two sides separated near the bottom by a huge pillar. Both sides have a good amount of platforms, making the overall gameplay of the level feel somewhat “chaotic,” as it has been put. The very bottom of the level, where the bases are, is a sea of lava. This makes things harder to see, adding to the chaos even more.

Lava Lagoon is a great level, so be sure to download and host it some time! Here’s a screenshot of Sciz in the level.

The lava is really annoying and hardly makes the lvl worth a LOTM award. :-(

In my opinion, the level looks a lot better (aside from a few eye candy bugs) in low detail. Not to mention it’s playable in low detail as well.

Please tell me this is an april fools joke and CHOOSE ANOTHER UPLOAD. The lava is annoying enough for this to even be in the month’s upload place.

This lvl is unplayable in normal detail, and in low detail it looks bad.
In my opinion it isn’t so good at all :|

The lava occupies under 20% of the level, and the sublava area is very straightforward. You get in, you get out.

Try actually playing the level seriously before complaining about it.

That’s what I tried to. The lava annoyed me. The level pack I’m hosting on my server includes Lava Lagoon. People leave the server at that point, unless I skip level.

Yeah, this is one of those levels where the more you play it the more you like it. Just like the music for the level.

You could always manually edit the lvl to the other darn tileset. ;P Whether the author of the lvl approves or not is another matter. :P
