JJ2WC III: The Finals

Another successful JJ2WC season is coming to an end. All this time I’ve been careful with words, but I think it’s late enough to be able to say that this has been the most professional, well organized season ever. Not only the game got technically improved with Blur’s JJ2+ addon, but even the newest, most novice clans showed a lot of professionality by showing up to every game. And just for those who haven’t been involved with the competitive clan scene in the last few years – while I say “novice”, they would’ve still kicked most old clans’ asses.
This evening at 21:00 CET, -t3> and CC will face each other for the 2nd and last semi final game of this season. The winner will play vs. [GpW] in the grand final next weekend, whereas the losing clan will have to face RL for the honorary 3rd place. All matches will be broadcasted at JJ.net’s JJ2TV and for hardcore JJ2’ers, closely followed at our “IRC channel”:irc://quakenet.org/JJ2WC.
EDIT: CC defeated -t3> by 6-2, which leads to another clash between the two most veteran clans of the game, this time at the grand-final. The Superclasico with [GpW] will be played next Saturday, so stay tuned!

The universe grows dark, all hope is lost…
…but wait…
..a shadow of hope remains!
There on the plains of Diamondus, just outside the Dark Forest, a small fellowship of Guru’s remains, fighting the good fight, refusing to bow down to the overwhelming darkness which hath descended upon the land. All is still, the proverbial stillness before the storm. They all know it – it’s what they signed up for. Join the Guru’s they told them, see the universe they said.
As is often in life, theirs was a road filled with bitter disappointments, hardship and sorrow. They saw their comrades eaten up by the empire of darkness, consumed in body and soul, banished to the world between worlds, where the lost souls roam between life and death, between zero and infinity, to limit on one is to limit on the other.
Yet despite all the horrors endured, despite all the toil, all the sweat and blood, they would have done it all over again. For they were the Guru’s, the Gamer’s, the proud warriors who fighting against insormountable odds still persevered, for comradeship, unity and determination were the qualities that defined them.
The last battle was at hand, and their chances were slim at best. The universe would fall to the shadow and there was naught that could be done. The empire, with it’s vast resources and a machiavellian logic always so foreign to the Guru’s, clearly had the upper hand. All had been conquered, all made to bow down before the terrible prince Vegito – he who hath become death, the destroyer of world’s!
Their leader encouraged them on sayind:“We might be outnumbered and outmatched, yet people will talk of this battle for aeons, the battle where the few stood up to the many, and they will talk of the brave Guru’s, who died to the man, with blasted in hand fighting for all they held dear!”
“T’is true, one could despair and t’is true, mayhaps our cause would be better served were we to run aways so as to fight another day. Yet if I am to make a stand, I will make it on our hollow ground, in the forrest’s of diamondus, our ancient home, the first world to be liberated from the ancient evil of the past. T’was here that our long dead master taught us to wield the blaster, to kick, buttstomp and use various weapons, all of which will be used to raze down the fallen souls who would desecrate our holy land! Mayhaps we are the last defenders of the universe, yet as surely as the sun will rise tommorow, so surely too, we will see them fall one day, and let the hour of their greatest triumph be also the beginning of their downfall!”
Here he stopped for a moment and turned with teary eyes and flailing arms to his companions shouting: “ Let the legend spread of those who stood up, and nearly won, let the tale be told of the brave one’s who dared to stand up and fight and let it be told to young and old and may it spread like wildfire, that once there were Guru’s, who fought to the man, and who fought like one! For if I am to be slain, let me go down alongside my brothers in arms! A day may come when our courage fails, an hour of wolves and shattered shields when the courage of men fails – but it is not this day! This day we fight! By all that you hold dear on this good earth, I bid you stand warriors of the Guru’s!”
And suddenly the universe shined more brightly. It gave them hope, for it seemed as if the gods themselves were cheering them on and promising them “the Win”.
Dawn came. And with it came the legions of immortals lead by the Prince himself. No quarter would be given, no escape route left undefended. All powerups taken, all carrots hoarded. Was this to be their end? Is this how the saga ends?
The fight is on…

The heavens trembled, the firmament shook, the dead weare awaken from their graves, and the very fabric of time and space was being ripped apart on that day…
It has been an honour playing alongside every one of you my bold Guru’s!
Speeza and Goldrabbit, my first members, thank you, for we would have never reached the finals, had you two not joined our merry band of rabbits! What people do not know is that before the JJ2WC both GR and Speeza helped us train a lot, and that we have them to thank for all our pas achievements.
To Spaceboy, for training with us, for organizing JJ2WC and for playing a pivotal role in the revival of the Guru’s.
To Skele, Xere and Kryt, our young warteam, all of whom performed admirably in all the games that they’ve played. Needless to say,it was only through their efforts in the warteam and helping the rest of us train, that we managed to pull this one off. GJ guys!
To all the other members, who weren’t part of the warteam, but who also helped us train (Lithium, Damar, King, Raul).
A big thanks goes to JJB, Sucer, SJ, Czech, Kev and PJ, for training with us! We had lotsa fun pwning you and getting pwnt by you!
The same goes to all the other players in the community, for all the 3v3’s, and not just because they made us play better, but because they were fun!:)
And last, but never the least, I would like to thank Kenny aka “Kenny RAGE” Andrei and Snz (sometimes also known as Omar:)) for being the best team a rabbit could hope for. Let’s give em hell tommorow!
