I have an autistic grandson who loves to play Jazz Jackrabbit. He sometimes accidently hits the WinKey during a heated battle and he has difficulty recovering. I’ve made a batch file to disable the WinKey when he starts start a DOS Jazz Jackrabbit game and then restart it when he quits. However, I can’t reliably do this with his Jazz Jackrabbit 2 games. Does anyone have a patch to do this? Or can anyone give me instructions how to do it reliably? Putting Disable WinKey in the Startup is OK as long as I’m here to install his games, but for future use I need an idiot-proof method that I can put into a batch file or an executable that works with the game shortcut. Or maybe a script to change the registry that can be run when the game is installed or started.

I don’t know how to help with your problem if whatever you’re doing to restart the winkey with JJ1 doesn’t work with JJ2, but you’ll probably have better luck posting in the Technical Help forum instead of RabbitJournal, since this is more about announcements. Alternatively, you might look for a dedicated Windows forum, since presumably any solution isn’t going to be particular to Jazz2.exe.

I could help you with this, though. If you make a thread in JCF and include what OS you are using, I can make you a quick fix.
