This level was created by FoD EM.
A lot of you will have seen this level before. It was hosted in an online server many times, and thus some of you will remember several different versions of this level. This is the final version.
Not a bad level. “The Secret Caves” uses the horribly overused Diamondus tileset with some standard music. Having played several versions of this on FoD’s server before, it’s quite a fun level. The event and powerup placement wasn’t bad, and you made good use of warps and such. It also has a pretty interesting layout, but the way it was designed lacks something.. hmm, fluency. But going beyond this, the base placement is simple, but awkward. There are also times when I could get myself stuck on a spring or pole. Hmm. Oh well. This level has a pretty good layout and many times can be fun to play, but more attention needed to payed on the CTF basics. But overall I think you should download this. I was pretty undecided between giving high five points of med 6 points, so I’ll go with a solid 6.
Well, the level is fluently playable
(especially with Spaz), and the designs are good, but the level is very simple made and theres almost no eyecandy.
I don’t really like CTF myself (OK i know you all do). What i really don’t like is that there are shields, and for the rest, the level is a little big but that won’t drop the point.
Overall it’s worth a 5.5 for me
“The Secret Caves” is not a bad level, but not really a good one either. The design and weapon placement is quite good, but somehow boring (maybe thats because i’m not a fan of all those Diamondus levels) and the lack of eyecandy is too obvious. Of course, there are some “additional” ideas like a coin warp that leads to a secret room and the like. But overall, i miss something “special” in it, i don’t know (only 5.5 points). The hardcore CTF Fans should download this. Everyone else, think about and read some more reviews :-)
