Ok,Nice use of the castle tileset,Nice weapon selsection even though i think the quanity of it is a little much. The eyecandy was ok,But it just lacked…somthing. And you made alot of the stuff look alike and i get confused. This level is a bit small,I wouldn’t hurt to expand stuff ect.Ok i could go on and on,But to make a long story short…
Gameplay:Good
Eyecandy:Above Average
Music:Ok…(I think you should have used another music file like Nippius.s3m just cuz it uses the castle tileset doesn’t mean it has to have the castle music)
First of all: HOW do you think of making a level without jcs? that would be rather impossible now wouldnt it?
Second: Readme included, which is good.
As for the level itself:
This level uses the castle tileset and has the standard castle music file. Although it looks okay I think weapons and springs are overplaced. The eyecandy is okay as well, but offers nothing ‘special.’
I would recommend downloading this if you are a fan of castle levels or if you are a collector like myself.
“Knightly Kill” is another pretty average level using the well-known “Castle” tileset.
The overall design is above average, but there are some aspects i dislike…some sucker tubes or the many warps, for example. The room filled with super goodies (full energy carrot and a shield!) is a bit overdone, too. Nevertheless, there is some nice eyecandy in the level.
The copter event stinks, because Lori can’t grab it. Next level setting is also wrong.
Really, the mentioned problems have to lower the rating a bit, sorry. But hardcore battle fans may want to download this, i guess (six points; what did you expect? :-).
Awright, I think I updated it so it has the right next level setting.
And when I said I could’ve made it without JCS, I was in a humorous mood.
To tell the truth, I had a diferent music file, but then I changed it for no reason.
And really, Aiko, You should get jazz2 version 1.23 (-: j/k[This review has been edited by MoonShadow]
You used the tileset well, but I found the layout to be a bit annoying at times. Invisible sucker tubes are not my kind of thing. I believe that in a battle level, you should be able to get to where you are trying to go. I found that in this level it is sometimes hard to do that.
This level is not bad, but nothing outstanding.
