The Lizard is an enemy from Jazz Jackrabbit 2. It also is an JCS Event.
The Lizard is just that: a thin and lanky reptilian creature with yellow skin and gangly limbs. The Lizard enemy also sports the large beak-like nose common to most of Jazz Jackrabbit 2’s reptile enemies and markings down his back and tail.
The Lizard has a very simple movement pattern, actually one of the simplest in the game. The Lizard strides across the platform he’s on, turning around when he reaches an edge, slope, or wall, and heading in the opposite direction. The Lizard makes no direct attempt to attack the player and will continue to strut in his simple-minded manner no matter what the player does.
Lizards, besides appearing wherever there is a Lizard event also are generated when a Float Lizard enemy is shot once. The aerial version of the Lizard enemy will, when shot, fall to the ground and assume the regular Lizard’s movement pattern.
In the official Jazz Jackrabbit 2 levels, Lizards appear in the Carrotus, Colony and Dam Nation levels. A festive version of the Lizard also appears in the Holiday Hare 98 levels.
The lizard is one of the few enemies that has a voice – that is, when the player walks near a lizard he can hear him repeating something like “dapp, tnn-dapp”.
The Lizard only appears in Jazz Jackrabbit 2 and takes one shot with the Blaster to kill. Defeating a Lizard awards the player 100 points.
