The Invasion of Deserto

A single player campaign by EvilMike, The Invasion of Deserto, focuses on an anonymous rabbit who lives peacefully on the (now) colonized planet of Deserto. It has been peaceful for some time now, but this is about to change, because somehow, Devan Shell, who was seemingly killed at the end of Jazz Jackrabbit 2, has found a way to use a secret artifact from Deserto to bring him back to life. He now seeks to undo all that Jazz Jackrabbit did in his time, and our rabbit friend (who also looks like Jazz) must stop him.

Devan begins his mad schemes by invading Deserto, and filling it with his goons. lizards, skeletons, turtles, and more, the gang’s all here. The action starts off in Deserto City, in the Eastern section. The few inhabitants of the planet (and the city) fled the Western area after it was captured, and sealed it off. The first level consists of the hero’s attempts to cross the barricade and attack the enemies that have laid waste to the city. The rest of the episodes focus on is quest to stop evil Devan from his diabolical schemes.

In addition to TIOD (The Invasion Of Deserto), three other episodes have been released. The Rebirth of Evil, The Battle for Carrotus, and the latest, The Resistance, all form a saga in EvilMike’s continuing series of levels. There is a final episode in the making, but it is not known yet when it will be released, as 4 just came out.

The difficulty of this pack is quite high, though not impossible. EvilMike suggested that it be played on easy mode, because it would be very hard on a higher level.
There are 12 levels (the final one culminating in a dramatic chase with the Rocket Turtle), one bonus level, and two “text” levels. The text levels give the player information he will need throughout the pack. Due to the size of certain levels, EvilMike has asked that players not save during levels, or Jazz2 will crash. He has made up for this by including every so often a “save point”, a tiny level where the player is permitted to save the level.

And now, it’s time to play it!
